Stayed at the Alyson over the Christmas holidays. The rooms were excellent with really comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Whilst we did not get the chance to try the restaurant I was told it is very good. The place to stay if you are visiting this part of France

Stayed here for two nights over weekend. Hotel just off a roundabout but not much noise. Out of town a bit. Sunday the hotel was locked when we came back after a walk into a town which we found was dirty and everything closed. Would not recommend the town to anyone. Food was ok but could do with more staff on duty. Room was overlooking the pool and nice and clean

I recently stayed at this hotel as part of the South African “change a Life” Charity team. We were based at this hotel for 6 Days. The hotel was ideally situated on the foot of the Pyrenees for our cycling activities. It also has a large car park and plenty of storage to accommodate some 60 plus high end bicycles!Whilst the hotels itself was a little austere, the service was superb. The owner attended upon our every need not could not do enough for a very demanding group. The food was excellent. I will return!

I recently stayed at the Alysson as part of the team managing a large South African cycling tour to the Pyrenees. My company Spyns is a leading provider of Tour de France trips and the wonderful "Change a Life" charity in South Africa hired us to help execute a cycling tour/fundraiser in France. At first, I was taken aback by the hotel's location, which is in an industrial park in Oloron-Saint-Marie (about 45 mins southwest of Pau). But I was quickly won over by Monsieur Dodard (owner/manager) and his ultra capable reception team (Mireille & Aurelie among others). I have worked with dozens of hotels in France and the Alysson's service was undoubtedly the best I've experienced. With any large VIP group, there can be a lot of last-minute demands and this was a particularly challenging group. M. Dodard and team smiled while driving people to doctor's appointments, shuttling to the train station, wharehousing 50+ bikes for a week, and even helped pull together last-minute decorations & entertainment for the group's final gala dinner. So I give the hotel team an A+ for service. Turning now to the hotel, the hotel restaurant is excellent and it's always a pleasure to dine on-site. Rooms are large, spacious, and comfortable, if not a little austere. I'd recommend booking a room that faces the parking lot rather than garden as there can be some street traffic noise in the morning. Breakfasts were excellent and for cyclists there is a large bike storage area and huge parking lot for arrivals/departures. The hotel is also with riding distance of some famous climbs (Marie Blanque, Aubisuqe, Soulor to name a few). I hope to return with a Spyns Tour de France group.

Nothing wrong with the hotel and it gives you what you expect from a modern hotel but nothing more. Rooms are a good size as is the bathroom but that what I expect. It should be scored as Good but it's not enough for that bit extra. We had 2 nights here over a weekend and on the Sunday it was empty at one time guests had to knock on the door for one of us to open up as the night lock was still on. Drinks were expensive but most of France is these days. Food was OK but again nothing special.
