We had read all the comments on Trip Advisor so were well forewarned of what was to come. Due to this we were able to avoid all the pit-falls experienced by others. We did take our car round the back for 10 euros because we had a lot of luggage and didn't want to leave it in the street even... More

This was a real find. The hotel is beautiful and feels like a step back in time but in the best possible way! The staff are friendly, the rooms gorgeous, we had a lovely balcony and the restaurant superb! We loved every minute of it and wished we were staying longer. There is a nice pool area to relax in... What a shame that this potentially spectacular hotel is run by such mean spirited people. I was conned into moving my car from the village car park opposite the hotel to the hotels private car park by Madame, who insisted it wasn't safe etc... only to be charged for it the next morning. The rooms were slightly mouldering, the pool... More

We stayed at this hotel not having read any reviews of it. We found it on the internet and booked based on the pics of the room. Reflecting the reviews we were the only guests. Dinner was served by an elderly woman who was well turned out. Her special cocktail was proffered and taken. In an empty, but for us,... More

This delightful Hotel is a gem in the middle of a small town. It has very imaginative décor in the bedrooms, all extremely comfortable. The menus are extensive, we had a three course lunch there for five days costing 15 euros which was beautifully prepared and quite delicious! It has a large private garden with a lovely swimming pool. The... More

Superficially a very pleasant rural village hotel with rather gaudy furnishings these people get their arm in as far as thy can. None of the sub-40 Euro wines were available and the grand dame said she would choose us something equivalent - tuned out to be twice the price when receiving the bill next day. Whilst food was good, service... More

The hotel appeared to be good value for the room, but everything else was extremely expensive, especially the food. When we arrived, Grandmere appeared to be in charge, spoke no English and seemed not to understand our French (which is not that bad!). She shouted for her son - the eponymous Herve, who appeared after a very long time and much... More

We can honestly say that this hotel is truly in a class of its own. We picked this hotel quite at random, but we ended up at an amazing family owned hotel. The current owner is the fifth generation of the Garrapit family to run the hotel. During our time staying at the hotel we experienced amazing hospitality unlike anything... More

Hello, We stayed at this hotel in July 2010, on the phone we were told the rate would be 115€ for a double-room, however upon check-out it turned out to be 190€!! Obviously they didn't say anything about the 10€ parking either. Fortunately we didn't have dinner in their restaurent, but somewhere else.. This seems to be the common way... More

Situated in the corner of the main square of this rather ordinary town the Hotel Garrapit does not look much. But behind the façade the owners have done a huge amount to turn this into a well appointed four star hotel. Read on for the ‘buts’… There is excellent parking at the back, a decent and well maintained swimming pool... More
