I had an amazing week at Pura Vida. Imediately I felt welcome. The staff was very friendly. Unexpected events were taken care of and new possibilities were offered (e.g. an exceptional session of Afro Dance with Jennifer, which was a lot of fun). One could choose to participate in the activities, to relax in the nice garden or to cycle to the sea. I also really enjoyed yoga and the massage. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of luck with the waves in this week, however thanks to Greg I could improve my surfing skills and most important have fun in the waves.

Waoo the Pura Vida Lodge is great! The House is hosted by Sven & Alice, their 2 lovely kids & a full team of surfers, skaters and others nice people. Everybody is kind and good vibes, and will makes you directly feel welcomed & relax. The House is confortable : lighty rooms with balconies, beautiful garden Perfect to chill around the swimming pool or testing your balance with a skyline or later in the evening having a drink at the bar.. The udge exterior kitchen Space is Perfect to share gourmet diner with your team. After early morning yoga stretching, you will rise and shine ;) and also enjoy a big Breakfast healthy & foody to be ready for a sporting day ! ~ About surfing : Teachers are really caring about you. They take time to Make them sure you’re on. And you will give back your best, whatever if you’re confirmed or beginner, you will learn! And that’s the point, isn’t ? You will also enjoy the funky colorful bikes you will get for the week, Just perfect to go surfing by your own or with your team. Then, if you Don’t know Les Landes, you will fall in love with the pine forest along the sea.. Ha! Last but not least : after sport, you can also reserved a massage 💆🏻♀️ I did twice with Cristina which is super pro and will go deep in mussels if you need it. Then, after all that great moments shared you will leave the Pura Vida Lodge with a big smile on your face. Just enjoy ! ☀️💙💦

Each point of familiarity and adventure were met. A highly skilled crew of trainees, hosts, technicians makes you feel a part of the bigger picture at once. The accomodations (rooms, breakfast timings, training schedules,...) naturally invite you to socialize with everyone. Individual time or group events, all is possible without any strings attached. The organization is highly aware of its carbon footprint, so no waste and no polluting elements. It's just paradise, and you have all the opportunities to enjoy it every second of your stay.

The best surf place we've stayed. It's just so chilled. There's no huge list of rules, or do's and don'ts, the only rule is "Enjoy Yourself". Elles, Sven and their fantastic team do an awesome job making sure that everything is just spot on, from the tranquil bliss of morning Yoga beside the river to to the Hawaiian themed cocktail night, or people just strumming out mellow vibes on their guitars. We were worried that we would be entering a world where everything was gnarly and phat or that everyone would be constantly stoked to the max, but to our huge delight the lodge just seems to attract really nice, kind, caring, laid-back and considerate clients - great job guys.

Amazing place to stay with a lot of facilities. The breakfast is huge and delicious Staff always available for tips or everything else, the surf spot is amazing on a wild beach. A massive thank you to Tom, the surf instructor, so patient and dedicated to us !! Everything is well organized and settled so you can really envoy your stay at the lodge. We waited a few years to finally get our trip here, it certainly didn't disappoint. The Lodge just felt like home, great atmosphere, great crew! great food! awesome vibes! The house and gardens are so beautiful and relaxing and set up perfectly to socialise! have space if you want it! take a dip in the heated pool or catch the final rays of the day. Breakfast is plentiful and all tastes catered for with the option to make a packed lunch ready for a day at the beach. Small groups for the lessons made it perfect to get the individual instruction you needed and creat a connection with your team mates and the coach. It doesn't matter if you are a total beginner or advanced everyone is catered for with instruction and everyone sees progress. We cannot wait for bookings to be open for next year! 100% recommend Pura Vida an oasis in France.

5 reasons why you should definitely treat yourself with a trip to Pura Vida Lodge:
1/ The Lodge: The place is really amazing. You could spend the whole day at the lovely outdoor area of the Lodge. You will never get bored. There's a refreshing pool, slackline, pingpong table. You can use surf / sup / skate equipment, etc. In the evening you can hang around the bar or the firepit. 2/ The surfspot: The surfspot where we went, is remote, which is pretty exceptional nowadays :-) It's remote because it's only accesible by bike or foot. Everyone gets a bike with surfrack, so once you know the way, you are free to go whenever you want. 3/ The surfclasses: Greg is a very good teacher :-) He really listens to each individual. What do you want to learn? Where and how much have you surfed before? Based on that, they divide you into groups. The groups are so small (4p) that there are always people of the same level (also intermediate + advanced). + Unlike other surfcamps I know, the classes change their time schedule every day, according to the best tides, wind, etc., which is nice! 4/ The owners, Ellis & Sven, are super nice and help you out with everything. It is so well managed. The crew knows exactly what they need to do and they do it very good :) They also have 2 lovely kids who hang around sometimes. A lot of fun :) 5/ The people: most of the guests are around there 30's with their main interests being chilling & surfing. It's not a partyplace, although on Thursdaynight we went dancing all together :-) Even if you're travelling alone, you will make friends easily.

My stay at the lodge was super nice (and same for the two previous stays). The lodge has a fun, chill atmosphere. The equipment (bikes and boards) was good. The bikes allow to surf at less busy beaches. Overall, super week and highly recommended!

From check in to check out the crew were awesome, helpful and super friendly, always diligently keeping the lodge organised and ensuring you have everything you need. The lodge is well set up, with a clean pool and relaxing area with shady and sunny spots to relax all day. There’s also plenty of ways to stay entertained at the lodge. If you want to cook the kitchen facilities are well organised and clean. The surf, yoga, SUP and surf skate teachers are very knowledgeable and cater to all experience levels. Mimizan is a lively beachside town with plenty of delicious places to eat.
Thanks so much to the whole Pura Vida crew for making our stay so enjoyable.
If we could have our time here again the only thing we would do is stay longer!

I was initially a bit disappointed as pole lessons were cancelled and this was the main attraction for me, but I'm so glad I went along anyway - the Pura Vida staff are amazing and they took on any feedback that we gave with professionalism. They really make an effort to create a memorable week for everyone, and the surfing feedback was the right balance of specific advice and fun encouragement.
The lodge is a unique place that draws some wonderful people, the breakfast was tasty and varied, and the schedule of activities was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for to get active but also unwind. I was sad to leave!
