This b&b rightly occupies number 1 on the list for Sarlat. Terri is a friendly and helpful hostess with a wide knowledge of the district. Her 15th century house is really special to stay in and a very brief walk brings you to the main square of the medieval town. Rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. S he provides a... More

What's not to like about Sarlat, it is as if Disney imagined a medieval city but better than that it is real, thriving and great fun. Our visit was made all the more memorable by the remarkable hospitality that Terri provided at her wonderful home - La Lanterne. Teenage boys can be a little trying at times but they settled... Gorgeous Villa/B&B right in the centre of the medieval village Sarlat. We stayed here for 3 lovely nights and were greeted by the lovely host Terri who was so welcoming, friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The medieval village is a no car zone, so we were able to park just 200 metres from the B&B for free. The... More

The B&B is very well located, with an easy walk to restaurants, shops and sights. Terri was a wonderful host and helped us find great restaurants and nearby towns to explore. Breakfast was very good. She has two delightful dogs. Parking is a bit of a headache, requiring regular meter feedings. I can't recommend the Courtyard Room. The bedroom is... More

This is a beautiful place to stay, difficult to park, but very interesting. The owner is very knowledgable, helpful and friendly, she is also English. Breakfast was delicious, rooms were comfortable and clean. Could not of been in a better position for the town of Sarlat or the surrounding countryside. Easy driving for Beynac, La Roque Gageac, Castelnaud and Domme... More

What more can I say - a really perfect B&B! Fantastic location right in the heart of Sarlat. Although there is no parking, Terri directed us just up the road where we parked for free no problem. Just a really lovely B&B. It has its own courtyard, which is really lovely and just great to chill with a glass of... More

Perfectly placed in Sarlat, La Lanterne is a gem. Terri runs what is, quite possibly, the best B&B in France. This was our second visit and it was difficult to believe this one could be better than the last. In addition to lovely rooms, La Lanterne's courtyard is a lovely way to relax with a drink after a day's activities.... More

We visited as two couples staying for three day's on our visit to the area. We arrived quite late in the afternoon but nothing seemed to faze our wonderful host Terri( together with Frodo and Fibi } who immediately welcomed us with a drink. The location of La Lanterne cannot be beaten as it lies within the walls of the... More

This was the second time we'd stayed at La Lanterne and we received a friendly warm welcome from Terri (and little Frodo and Fibi) on arrival for our 3-night stayl. We cannot praise this Chambers d'Hote enough. It is in the old medieval part of the town just a few steps from all the shops and restaurants. On our 16... More

From helping us retrieve a car that had lost its way to the courtyard companionship, the wonderful breakfasts and helpful suggestions, nothing could be improved upon. We experienced the finest that Sarlat had to offer in every way.
