This was the second time we'd stayed at La Lanterne and we received a friendly warm welcome from Terri (and little Frodo and Fibi) on arrival for our 3-night stayl. We cannot praise this Chambers d'Hote enough. It is in the old medieval part of the town just a few steps from all the shops and restaurants. On our 16... More

From helping us retrieve a car that had lost its way to the courtyard companionship, the wonderful breakfasts and helpful suggestions, nothing could be improved upon. We experienced the finest that Sarlat had to offer in every way.

This was our 2nd stay at La Lanterne - and was just as enjoyable as the first. Terri is a fabulous host and ensures her guests feel very much at home. Beautiful rooms and a lovely breakfast too. It's the perfect place to stay when visiting this region.

Rain and train strikes did their best to mar my experience of revisiting Sarlat, but the comfort of La Lanterne and Terri's 'way beyond the call of duty' helpfulness totally outbalanced the external negatives. In a less friendly place I would have had a miserable time on my own, but instead I shall remember this with joy and gratitude. I... More

La Lanterne is a B&B that has it all! Charm, location, friendly service, yummy breakfasts, great wifi, local knowledge and way more!! Innkeeper Terri is amazing! She welcomed us with a glass of wine and some snacks and a detailed booklet with everything we needed to know. She even helped us lug our way too many pieces of luggage from... More

Our host Terri contributed so much to our holiday. Her hospitality and lovely home are fond memories of our time in Sarlat; such a great base from which to explore the town and Dordogne region. Terri's advice and help about the area, transport and local tours was superb. We stayed in the Tapestry room which was very comfortable and well... More

Great location and lovely host. Terri made us feel like friends in her home and was full of great local knowledge. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip and the evening wine and nibbles was a nice touch at the end of a busy day sight seeing. We didn't want to leave.

We had a wonderful experience at this B&B, I cannot say enough. (And this is with a husband who is generally not a B&B type of person). Our group of three, including our 18yo daughter, were in two acjacent rooms. They had all the amenities that I would want in a room, including an electric kettle. The beds were comfortable,... More

We stayed 4 nights on our visit to the Dordogne area and used La Lanterne in Sarlat as our base. We stayed in the Courtyard Room which was great for us but if you have reduced mobility I suggest you choose another room as the staircase to the bedroom is narrow and steep. Terri was a wonderful hostess, friendly, helpful... More

We had a wonderful 4-night stay here in May 2016. If you are going to Sarlat, this is THE place to stay. The many reviews attest that La Lanterne is a great choice in Sarlat. Great location in the old town, easy walk to parking, charming accommodations, fantastic breakfasts and Terri is a wonderful host(ess). The rooms are spotlessly clean... More
