I cant believe the bad reviews that people have written about this hotel. I'm guessing some of them have never actually been and just saw photos! We had an amazing stay. The owners, Spiros and Marina, were the most helpful and friendliest people I met on my trip. There are stairs to get into the hotel... but that is part of the culture, charm and environment of the Greek Islands! It is quaint, sweet and full of the true Greek essence - Family focused, great hospitality and all the reasons to visit such a place rich in traditional culture. The stairs are well worth every second spent at the hotel. With views of the beach and stunning surrounds. The bar and pool were phenomenal. So relaxing. We met other great people there due to the comfortable and friendly environment that Marina created for everyone. The rooms and clean and comfortable. Clearly a lot of effort, care and consideration go into making this a stay to remember. We had a great time. Spiros and Marina - thank you so much for everything. Wish you every luck for the rest of the season.

Definetly one of the worst experience in my life. I went with my family to Ios, las July, in order to hace a good time and relax. The people working at the hotel couldnt be any worse, they didnt help at all or either treat us well. They even shouted at us in more than one ocasion, even almost proceed to physical aggression once. Wouldn’t recommend at all this place if you want to have a good time.

After reading other reviews I was a little worried. Turns out it was a great stay. People were complaining of all the stairs & unpleasant staff. Yes there are 50 stairs to get to the hotel but it does have a lift for your luggage! All you have to do is walk up the stairs to reception then they do the rest. Staff were nothing but friendly to me, I can’t fault them. Wifi does not work in your room, but it works if you stand outside your room or at the pool etc. A/C was great too. Location was great in regards to being close to the port. But it’s a little out the way to the main village where all the main shops and bars/ pubs are. There is a public bus right near hotel but as the busses don’t run past midnight you have to walk back from the village. It wasn’t all bad tho because there are stairs (right near sweet Irish pub) from town which are all downhill & take you back down to port if you miss the last bus, it only takes about 15 or 20 mins :) I would recommend this hotel !

There are 100 steps before reaching reception, so not recommendable for elders or heavy suitcases. Secondly, we had disagreements with the staff that were handled horribly. We were not allowed to change guests easily, which shouldn't be a problem when one has booked for 6 guests. We were always 6, just happened to have switched one of those 6 in two occasions. What's more, we were accused of lying, claiming that we were 7 guests, when in fact we were always 6, when we had booked for 6 guests. We were also told there would be hourly checks in our rooms in the morning to ensure we were only 6 guests, and the hotel owner herself said they would enter even if we were not awake, without our consent. On another occasion, we were still sleeping after a late night, and were told by room service that we HAD to leave the room, who insisted that we leave despite us asking they not do cleanup on that day.

!!!This hotel is literally a joke, first there are about 100 steps of stairs to get to the reception. There is a lift only for suit cases but you must walk up the flight of stairs and tell the reception & then walk back down & load your stuff. Anyway we decided to carry up our luggage as we didn’t want to walk up & down as there are to many stairs once we got to the top we seen the front lady/ owner watching us on her camera that viewed down the stairs. Once we got checked in we had to carry our lagguage down & up more stairs no help just a “come on follow me” or “go this way I’ll meet you there”. When we entered our room that we paid for a king bed to see a double bed when we notified the stuff they said their double is their king sized beds. Once we settled in to the little room with a little bed we tried to connect to the wifi it wouldn’t work once again we walked back to reception and got told we have to sit on the balcony to use it, by this point I was very over it & asked if I could cancel my accommodation & get some sort of refund they said no. Meanwhile the lady at the front kept repeating she had no idea & to wait for her husband as he knows everything, why have someone dealing with people at the front who has no idea what they are doing. Also the bar staff kept starring & clearly talking about us & made me feel very uncomfortable then when purchasing a drink knew all about the previous situation, so there for I know there was some discussion about us going on. Not happy & not worth the price, nothing much around other than food spots & boats. The next day we got up to go to the buffet breakfast to find it’s only got some cakes, boiled eggs, sliced cheese and ham & cereal. When asking for a refund for the breakfast they started to yell at me saying if I have a problem to contact my travel agency & next time ask the travel agent more questions about the accommodation if I have problems. Also the pool was not heated & when I asked if it was she said no but it’s better than the beach. We were meant to stay here for 4 days we stayed half a day & once the situation with the breakfast I went & organised a ferry to Paros, please do not waist your money or time coming to IOS & if you do, DO NOT STAY HERE, PLEASE it will destroy your whole trip, we paid nearly $1000 AUS. Thank you for absolutely nothing Poseidon hotel, IOS

It is located 2 minutes walk from the dock on a hill side, just far away to get a good night sleep but close enough to go down hill to the port in one minute. I showed up without a reservation during peak season and the accommodated me, I had to move between rooms every night, but I didn't care. It's is run by very nice people. There is also a pool with a bar! When I go back to Ios I will stay there again.

The hotel was not at all what it looked like on the website , rooms were small and gross. Wifi was only in the lobby and data doesint work in the rooms either. The staff did not help at all when we tried to cancel our reservation and the manager was rude.

Located beside Ios port is great for disembarking holidayers literally 2 minute walk. Rooms were clean but quite crampted. Aircon was either non existent or you were sleeping in a fridge. WiFi only worked at reception or at pool but this was explained at check-in. The beds were constructed using tiles which resulted in a few bangs to the head. Pool area was great with pleasant bar staff and a good games room. €3 for beers which isn't too expensive all things considered. Main town of chora is a 5 minute bus journey up hill and costs €1.80 with buses stopping at 12pm. You can walk back and only takes ten minutes down steps.

This hotel far exceeded expectations. It was one of the best places we stayed in greece, for the price range it is really great value. Room and grounds spotlessly clean, everything worked and well built building. The grounds are spacious and many terraces and balconies, view over the harbour. Pool etc for chilling. location is convenient to the harbour, ferries and places to eat, also good if you want to get some sleep, you can still easily walk to the nightclubs, but not hear them.
