It was 8:30 in the evening, everywhere was full and they were our last hope. They didn't have a room so the owner then phoned around on our behalf and organised a room via his network. He kept the kitchen open so we could have meal.

We were very pleased to find the Strathy Inn whilst cycling the North Coast 500 route. The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Our room on the ground floor was clean, quiet and very reasonably priced. Our tandem was stored over-night in a locked shed. We had a good meal in the bar in the evening and...

When you are travelling in the very north of Scotland & islands you quickly appreciate how few people, inns, restaurants etc there are.....but you are there for the scenery quiet and lack of people etc. We wanted a base for four nights to explore the area , including the Orkneys. Ok , the Strathy Inn is somewhat tired and could...

The place isn't modern or fancy, but don't be put off. A warm welcome, excellent home cooked food - not a chip in sight - the Orkney fudge and whiskey cheesecake was wonderful. Only small, so we booked ahead as all tables ended up being full on a Wednesday night. Lovely chat with fellow travellers.

We stayed here for one night on our road trip around Scotland, and what a fab place we found. The room we stayed in was spacious and bright with a lovely ensuite attached to it. We had a meal in the onsite restaurant and it was really nice food with a good varied menu. Also the pub stocks lots of...

At 18.15, with just a few guests dotted round bar/lounge area, informed by owner/manager that they could not put 5 chairs round a table to feed and water 3 adults and 2 children. A table out of service as "booked for eight o'clock" and "wife on her own in the kitchen". Diddums. Highland hospitality at its best.

I am sorry that we were unable to provide you with a table earlier this week. We are a small establishment and we do strive to provide warm Highland hospitality. When you arrived wanting a table for five people, there were two unoccupied tables. One was booked for a group of four at 7pm and the other was a small...

Stayed here on Saturday night after a long and very hilly 55 mile cycle from Durness. The owners couldn't have been kinder. Helped us lock away our bikes and provided us with a lovely, cozy bedroom with fantastic ensuite shower. We had a lovely evening meal here which was very reasonably priced. Halloumi starter followed by venison casserole / beef...

Friendly quiet bed and breakfast on the north coast. Stopped as part of a motorcycle trip of Scotland. Good wifi and modern bathroom in a mainly traditional bed and breakfast. Bar meal was good quality, with a nice selection of bottled ales from Scottish breweries. Good breakfast in the morning. Very friendly couple who run the place. Great stay. Thanks!

A friendly and efficient family-run inn with restaurant and bar. Fresh food is cooked to perfection and can be eaten near to an open fire. A speciality of the house is their own recipe Chocolate Haggis! Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Clean, warm and comfortable. A peaceful, tranquil place for lovers of the Scottish Highlands with beautiful walks along the north...

My son and I arrived at this Bed and Breakfast after a very long, but totally awesome, journey up from Invermoriston on our motorbikes. Don’t be put off by its outside appearance; this is a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay (the best night’s sleep we had in the whole of our four day trip). We had a warm,...
