Old, run down, dirty and filthy, really like in a bad movie. Nice location in the middle of the village, but has not seen any renovation in the last 40 years. There are other much better and equally cheap options in the neighbourhood, but this place is a no go !
Eisenerzert is a very old city and has clearly stood still for the past 20 years. This was also noticeable in the restaurant, the smokers were sitting in the restaurant and everything felt old fashioned, The food (we had schnitzels) was reasonable, but not overdone Unfortunately the vegetables were not fresh but from a jar, prices were reasonable
Very tired after long trek we looked for a bed. Pleased lady took me and my friend to this Hof in late evening. The mood of this hotel took us some years back in time. The town was very dark and like uninhabited in night. Sunny morning got us to the different world.
We booked three single rooms here and found the service and the rooms good. They also have a restaurant that serves local food with good-sized helpings. The breakfast buffet is well stocked and the staff was ready to comply with requests. You can also meet locals at their bar as it is a favorite watering hole in town. They sufficient parking behind the building and we were able to put our 3 motorbikes in a secure garage for the night.
Situated in the town centre of Eisenerz - an uninspiring, shabby, economically run down small town. The only thing going for this place is the beautiful countryside. In winter, the shabby and rundown atmosphere is covered in snow...so that people dont notice.
