Very good value and a helpful chap that runs the place. Clean toilets and kitchen. Situated 2mins from the beach. Nice relaxed family vibe with a half pipe next door, great chippy up the road and a old school pub.

We first visited the campground of Alex and Mel back in 2012. Four years later it is still a beautiful place, some amenities were updated, cabins built. Kitchen is still a nice place to cook and chat, the facilities are very clean and the staff very helpful. And it has the standard of a Kiwi Holiday Park for a very...

I think that this is the way how the holidays park should work. Very friendly owners, gave us all important info where to see wildlife (yellow penguins and seals), where and when to go on nice 25mins walk to moeraki boulders (you can do this only during low tide), and other really helpfull things. The holiday park itself is in...

Perhaps we were the wrong demographic for this park. Our rickety camper van was surrounded by massive luxury motorhomes and everyone stared openly. People looked down their noses at us when we cooked backpacker rice next to their steak in the communal kitchen. One woman even gave us an aggressive lecture on the company we'd rented our van from! It...

we had an enjoyable stay after xmas and leading into the new year. Toilets, kitchen showers very clean. A peaceful and relaxing camp. Alex is very friendly and approachable. Quiet with a very short walk to the beach. Great for riding bikes around Hampden. Fantastic cafe and supermarket . Would highly recommend

One night stopover with our two grandchildren. Very comfortable and clean cabin and great play area for the children to let off steam. Grounds very well maintained. Made very welcome on arrival with very informative information on local eating options and sites to visit. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in a self contained cabin. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. We had a nice walk to the Moeraki Boulders (25/30 minutes each way) Alex was super friendly and even more helpful. Campervan sites were good and so were the tent sites. Had a kitchen and small lounge. Highly...

We loved this little holiday park near Moeraki Boulders! The kitchen was clean and well stocked with dishes and extra utensils to borrow. Our 2 year old enjoyed playing with the kids toys on the large lawn, and we appreciated being able to watch her while we ate. The family is very helpful and knowledgable about wildlife viewing opportunities -...

This is what a camp ground should be! It had the feel of a Kiwi camp ground of yesteryear with all the amenities you need. We stayed in one of the cabins that had a fridge and kettle etc which was very good as we took our own breakfast supplies. From what I saw of the kitchen facilities they were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a little, unique and typical Kiwi beach camping ground with lots of character. Relax in our scenic reserve to birdsong and the sound of the waves. A short walk along the beach will take you to the magnificent Moeraki Boulders. Explore the surroundings (yellow eyed penguins, dolphins, Shag Point Boulders, Macraes Gold Mine, Oamaru, Dunedin), eat out at one of the best local Seafood restaurants in New Zealand (Fleurs Place, 5km from the park) or hire a kayak to see the lagoon or find the dolphins in the bay. We have tent sites, powered sites, backpackers beds, cabins, selfcontained units and freestanding motel units. Bikers might want to relax a few days after (or before) the Alps to Ocean bike ride or the Otago Rail trail. We are proud to be a Kiwi Holiday Park. ... more   less
