Arminda Hotel & Spa garners high praise for its professional and amiable staff who ensure efficient service, especially in housekeeping and spa areas. The hotel's cleanliness and variety of pools, along with an excellent spa, contribute to its relaxing atmosphere, accentuated by scented candles and soft music.
While the well-equipped rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness, a few guests have noted noise and minor maintenance issues. The value is appreciated by many, who feel the pricing is reasonable for the quality and services provided, despite some additional costs.

Detailed Reviews
The hotel is located 20 min from Heraklion Airport and 5 min from Hersonissos city centre. It’s modern and well kept. Upper floors offer beautiful view of the sea. It has an access to the beach, although the beach belongs to another hotel. You can still use it as well as the sun umbrellas, but the sunbeds are additionally paid. There are 6 swimming pools including 3 for children, 2 of them with water slides and water play area. The pools for smaller children are covered from the sun, which is very comfortable. The bigger slides are open from 10 to 12 am and then from 4 to 6 pm. The smaller ones are open all day. There are many entertainment and sports facilities, basically everything you can see on their website. Everything is clean and well maintained. Food is served in a main restaurant and two snack bars. There is plenty to choose from, everything tasty and fresh. I especially liked the choice of fish and seafood, as well as desserts. The rooms are spacious and cleaned on a daily basis. Our was the cheapest type from the offer and it was really alright, so I imagine the others must be even better. The furniture was a bit outdated, but the room was renovated and clean, with a separated bedroom for kids. It was on a second floor with a lovely view over the pools and the sea from the balcony. I would recommend choosing upper floors, as the rooms on the ground floor are a bit close to the walking areas, so not much privacy there. The staff was really friendly and helpful. There was some animation going on as well. There are a few markets and car rentals in the closest area. Also, if you need to take a covid test before your way home, there is a medical center just on the other side of the street with a very good service and prices. All in all, it was a perfect stay and I totally agree with all the good reviews of the hotel I had read before we went there. We regretted the time there went so fast. As for the sightseeing, regarding the location of the hotel I recommend renting a car and going to Knossos and Heraklion, visiting the Zeus Cave in Psychro, Cretaquarium, also a trip to Spinalonga from a lovely town of Plaka, Agios Nicolaos and aquaparks. The famous beaches of Balos and Elafonisi are over 3 hours driving one way, Vai Beach is 2 hours away and Matala a little bit less, so it’s quite a long car ride especially with children.

Let me start with the negatives:
The items that require paying
Greek tax
Safety deposit box 10 euros
Towels 1 euro each
Cleaning towels 1 euro each
Cocktails 8 euro ( no hotel options or kids mocktails)
General negatives
Lack of decent entertainment daily and evening.
Kids slide open 10 to 12 and 4 till 6.30
Quality of soft drinks (only local)
Private beach owned by next door hotel so no drinks or loungers
Positives
Rooms
Sleep quality
Decent aircon
Food is good and good selection for kids too
Selection of pools
Slides
Snacks (doughnuts, cakes, popcorn and crepes)
Bar plays football or big sport events (women euro final).
Beach close with water sports (jet ski, canoeing, banana boat etc)
Overall very good hotel, nice staff, just needs to address the negatives as listed above. Heronossiss is only 8 to 10 euro taxi and worth worth a drink on the beachfront.

Just back from this fantastic Hotel
Arrived very late in the evening and the staff were very smiling and happy and gave as our key and told us to
Come back in the morning when we are refreshed to sort everything out, took us to the closed restaurant and there was a selection of food and drinks to help ourselves to if we wished.
The hotel is absolutely spotless with staff constantly cleaning and I've gotta that most of them would always take time to say hello or small chat .
The hotel has many pools some with music , some with activities during the day our favourite was the top pool , it had a much quieter atmosphere and the beds and parasols were much better quality .
There's a few snack bars around the complex for the day serving hot and cold food , there's always something to eat if you fancy it
There's a few self service drinks stations as well with beer, wine, soft drinks and tea and coffee , basically get a drink whenever you like during the day very handy for the kids.
There's some fantastic cocktails here as well BUT you gotta pay but some of them are very strong
The room was very spacious and kept very clean and the shower was very powerful
The hotel and spa is kept in lovely grounds with some greenery
The food in the restaurant we thought was very nice , lots of choices always something to choose from , lots of nationalities at this hotel so lots of different food choices were available not to everyone's liking I suppose but always things to eat
My partner tried the spa and she said it was very relaxing
The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is that there is no nighttime entertainment , NONE , there's daytime activities for the kids and pool activities during the day but after that it's chill out time
The hotel is situated in-between stallis and hersonossis so either way you have a good night
Brilliant Hotel would Def come back
Any questions feel free to ask

OK so I will make this an honest review, the hotel is based in between two 5* complexes, if you want to use the beach there is a incline down to it and although it's lovely it's part of next doors complex and the life guard will charge you 25€ for 2 sunbeds,
Hotel
Most of the rooms are a pool view as there are 6 pools to overlook , we were given room 535 a family room , was a pool view but backed onto the hotel carpark and the by pass was extremely busy and noisy from traffic .
The rooms are a fine for what you need , clean towels and beds made fresh daily,a king-size bed and 2 single beds in the other room, the bed had a wooden frame round the bottom which due to limited space think we all banged our legs on it at somepoint,
Food and drink
We complained after the 1st night the drinks are all self service ( soft drinks and beer and wine )and not very good quality the coke was like black syrup and they were all very gassy, the food was ok , we always found something to eat and there was plenty of choice but sometimes it just wasn't hot enough ( I like my food piping hot )
Pools
The pools are lovely but a bit on the cold side and I liked the fact that everything was in eye view , so you can see the kids on the waterpark or playareas etc,
Entertainment
There is plenty to do if you want to be involved , however
The Entertainment was a bit repetitive the same activities at the same time everyday,
The Entertainment at night was basic, quizzes and dancing , the staff were lovely special mention to Alex and frederica who is a credit to the place and works endlessly to keep guess happy.
Out and about
Hersonisoss is about 8€ away in a taxi and has bars restaurants and lots of shops and going the other way is stalis village which we loved much quieter and some nice bars
We had a good time but the drinks and lack of evening shows wasn't our thing so don't think we would return

we stayed here late September 2021, check in was smooth and we were even escorted to our room. the rooms are lovely. all you need from an all inclusive.
The pool areas are great, different pools for different moods, Dining was good, the restaurant layout was very good and well presented. the food was good, just dont go expecting A la Carte standard of food and dining though. You'll need to go out to some of the lovely restaurants if you are looking for a romantic meal. That being said the staff were great at clearing tables and keeping everything presentable, hot food was replenished well too.
We only visited the beach nearby, it's just a short walk down to the sand, literally a couple of minutes. its a small beach but still nice once you get your spot.
Reception staff were very friendly and super helpful when it came to recommendations and tips for heading out and about. We hired a car through reception and could not fault the service.
THE SPA!!!, wow... we loved it.. this was the highlight for us. we visited twice it was that good. ALL the staff were so lovely, our Masseurs were Vaggelis, Stella and Amma. we could not fault them. We felt absolutely relaxed, all the products used during our time there smelled AMAZING and felt so good to use. if youre staying at the Arminda please use the spa.
Overall we had a great time there and would consider coming back soon too.

Fantastic spotlessly clean hotel with excellent staff in every department. Rooms cleaned everyday to exacting standards (apart from Sunday’s) they get a well deserved break. Restaurant again is spotless, as soon as you’ve finished eating the staff are moving your plates cups etc in lighting speed. Pools are lovely albeit a bit chilly this time of year! Votsalo Bar - well where do I start? Best barman I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet, true gentleman in every sense of the word! He’s polite, pleasant and professional, holiday wouldn’t have been the same without Spiros! Thanks to everyone especially Spiros for making our holiday in Crete such a wonderful one! Will be booking again in the very near future….

+1
Booked a last minute all inclusive package trip from Stockholm. Well worth every penny. Scrupulously clean, rooms cleaned daily, pools are lovely and masses of sun beds, quick access to the sea, bus stop outside the gate if you fancy a trip to Heronissos, for example. Considering it’s an all inclusive hotel, the food is phenomenal! The buffet changes daily and always offers ‘regular’ European food (fries, spaghetti bolognese, etc), traditional Greek dishes, a huge salad bar, grilled meat/fish in the evenings, a fruit buffet and a massive dessert counter. All day long soft drinks, beer and wine are available
On tap alongside snacks - rolls, pizza slices, ice cream. Truly, no one could go without all they need here. The bar is open late and if you want cocktails, these are available at extra cost (around 5-8 Euros each). Staff polite and helpful. Would absolutely not hesitate to come again. Hersonissos is a lovely little town nearby and in Stalis about 1.5km away there’s a great place to hire quad bikes or mopeds, Creta Machine Club - very good value for money. We hired a quad for a day for €40 plus insurance.

We had the best holiday ever here! All the staff are very kind and helpful. Super clean, entertainment was fab! Mini disco for the kids most eves too! The pools are great, 3 pools, 1 baby pool and a splash park, and there is more than enough sun beds to go around. Food is plentiful brekfast lunch and dinner with snacks and help yourself drink machines in the bar areas. They do provide almond/soy milk too you just need to ask. They do amazing cocktails although these are charged extra they are worth it! My daughter had a few mocktails which were around 4 euros but theybwas decorated lovely and it felt like a real treat. 25 minute transfer time and its within walking distance to stalis or hersonissos, we paid around 8 euro to get a taxi into hersonissos and 8 euro to get to koutloufari. There are 2 super markets one over the road and one to the right of arminda both full of lovely souvenirs and food, snacks, suncreams etc. I have to mention Valia, my daughter lost her car bracelet when we came back home so I messaged arminda to see if I could speak with the supermarket to get another, she went above and beyond out of her way to go and get my daughter a new bracelet and to post it from arminda to England honestly I cannot thank her enough and I have never experienced this service with another hotel ever!! We will definitely be returning! Thankyou Arminda for the best holiday we have ever had!! ❤️

Lovely clean hotel. Room was modern, bright and airy. Comfortable beds and good facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were able to arrange a late check out for an additional cost which meant we were able to retain our room until 8pm which was a great help. Swimming pools are really good and kids loved true water slides. Entertainment was ok. If I was being really picky then perhaps the entertainment schedule could be varied a bit more, I.e the aqua class and mini disco used the same music every day which became a bit repetitive after 8 days. But this wouldn’t put me off staying again. Food was quite varied and something for most. The iced coffees and milkshakes (not within all inclusive) were fab and reasonably priced. Good range of cocktails available too! All in all I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed at Arminda Hotel & Spa with my family and a friend I brought along with me, we were a group of 6 altogether and we all had such a relaxing time here.
The grounds are all really well kept and very pretty, the hotel itself is super clean and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming.
A good choice of pools, if you don’t want to be around kids and want a more relaxing sunbathing experience then the relaxation pool is the place you need to be, this would be the only area that you can get away from any sorts of loudness during the day but even so the other pools aren’t ridiculously loud or hectic.
The food in the main restaurant is nice, it’s nothing out of this world, but definitely gets the job done. A lot of meat is served which was great for some of us, but the veggie options were somewhat less varied. Still though, no complaints were made by the non-meat eaters in our party. I’d give the overall food quality and variety a 7/10. They do shake things up, so it never feels repetitive. Loved the eggs Benedict they put out on some mornings.
The snack bars are great, they don’t change them up that much but because you can eat so much at the main restaurant, this didn’t bother us.
I think the alcohol situation could be a bit better, the cocktails of the day were pretty underwhelming - kind of just tasted of juice. The self serving beer and wine were okay, they did the job. Nothing special. A nice cold pint would have been nice to have.
The evenings are super chill (we stayed in September) and we ended up just playing cards by one of the bars most nights, very quiet and relaxing. No rowdiness at all.
We got a treatment at the spa and it was truly divine - me and my friend both got a 40 minute head, back, neck and shoulder massage from Maria and Haris who were both excellent, kind and so welcoming. This really was a fabulous touch of the stay here. Would 100% recommend.
The location is pretty decent, we were surprised at how expensive taxis were - so my dad ended up renting a car for a good price for one of the days so we drove to Water City Water Park (definitely recommend) and to a beautiful small village called Sisi for dinner one night which was about 20 mins away - which would have cost us about €140 in taxis for two cars there and back which I think is ridiculous. If you don’t mind staying in the hotel the whole time then this wouldn’t be an issue. But we wanted to get out a bit, Hernissos and Stalis are both within walking distance. We walked into Stalis most days to go to the beach which was gorgeous, only a 10/15 min walk and the water was beautiful and clear. Lots of bars and restaurants there too if you wanted to venture out.
Overall we loved our stay and it was my first time in Crete or Greece and I am already looking at returning next year, probably to a different part of the island or a different island in general. I would definitely recommend Arminda Hotel & Spa, especially for families - I think it’s a perfect family holiday hotel. It ticks all the boxes!

We went in may and there were plenty then .
