Arminda Hotel & Spa garners high praise for its professional and amiable staff who ensure efficient service, especially in housekeeping and spa areas. The hotel's cleanliness and variety of pools, along with an excellent spa, contribute to its relaxing atmosphere, accentuated by scented candles and soft music. While the well-equipped rooms are generally celebrated for their cleanliness, a few guests have noted noise and minor maintenance issues. The value is appreciated by many, who feel the pricing is reasonable for the quality and services provided, despite some additional costs.

I stayed at Arminda Hotel & Spa with my family and a friend I brought along with me, we were a group of 6 altogether and we all had such a relaxing time here.

The grounds are all really well kept and very pretty, the hotel itself is super clean and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming.

A good choice of pools, if you don’t want to be around kids and want a more relaxing sunbathing experience then the relaxation pool is the place you need to be, this would be the only area that you can get away from any sorts of loudness during the day but even so the other pools aren’t ridiculously loud or hectic.

The food in the main restaurant is nice, it’s nothing out of this world, but definitely gets the job done. A lot of meat is served which was great for some of us, but the veggie options were somewhat less varied. Still though, no complaints were made by the non-meat eaters in our party. I’d give the overall food quality and variety a 7/10. They do shake things up, so it never feels repetitive. Loved the eggs Benedict they put out on some mornings.

The snack bars are great, they don’t change them up that much but because you can eat so much at the main restaurant, this didn’t bother us.

I think the alcohol situation could be a bit better, the cocktails of the day were pretty underwhelming - kind of just tasted of juice. The self serving beer and wine were okay, they did the job. Nothing special. A nice cold pint would have been nice to have.

The evenings are super chill (we stayed in September) and we ended up just playing cards by one of the bars most nights, very quiet and relaxing. No rowdiness at all.

We got a treatment at the spa and it was truly divine - me and my friend both got a 40 minute head, back, neck and shoulder massage from Maria and Haris who were both excellent, kind and so welcoming. This really was a fabulous touch of the stay here. Would 100% recommend.

The location is pretty decent, we were surprised at how expensive taxis were - so my dad ended up renting a car for a good price for one of the days so we drove to Water City Water Park (definitely recommend) and to a beautiful small village called Sisi for dinner one night which was about 20 mins away - which would have cost us about €140 in taxis for two cars there and back which I think is ridiculous. If you don’t mind staying in the hotel the whole time then this wouldn’t be an issue. But we wanted to get out a bit, Hernissos and Stalis are both within walking distance. We walked into Stalis most days to go to the beach which was gorgeous, only a 10/15 min walk and the water was beautiful and clear. Lots of bars and restaurants there too if you wanted to venture out.

Overall we loved our stay and it was my first time in Crete or Greece and I am already looking at returning next year, probably to a different part of the island or a different island in general. I would definitely recommend Arminda Hotel & Spa, especially for families - I think it’s a perfect family holiday hotel. It ticks all the boxes!

How to say? Super modern, small swimming pool but really different and far away, a relaxing pool area to be quiet and child-free. Pleasant deckchair, not plastic and no struggle to get a place.
Varied food, we always find something even though it's a bit repetitive. No noise from the rooms, the staff is always smiling, pleasant, super efficient whether in restaurant, bar, cleaning lady, reception....

Everything soft, no need to go to the bar, there are fountains available, it's great.

Do not take an excursion with an agency to the left of the hotel, always straight ahead there is Stalis where there are bars, restaurants, small tourist shops and lots of excursions and car rentals instead of €400 for 2 we paid 220€ boat and guide in French.

Without forgetting, the best bartender Spyros who is in the bar near the friendly children's games always with a smile, no need to speak he gives you a drink, chats.... At the top.

Always something to snack on outside the restaurant in the different swimming pools.

The only downside is that only one cocktail per day is offered, otherwise the rest has to be paid for. Sometimes the lower and upper bar don't have the same cocktail sometimes yes so if you don't like the one of the Day it's annoying.

A couple of young children who were able to relax without their children.

Maybe we'll go back with the kids next time.

We have simply had a fantastic week at Arminda.

Arminda is an all inclusive with everything that goes with it.
Personally, I'm a bit picky about all inclusive because I think the noise level and the energy level can be just a tad too much. But here we could choose on and off ourselves.
There are 4 different pool areas, all of which offer different things and you can really choose whether you want peace or a bit more exercise. In general, I actually think it was quite quiet throughout the hotel, despite the noise from families with children.
There are enough sunbeds and good lying places for everyone, which also meant that we did not see people 'reserving' sunbeds in advance :-)

Everything seems new and delicious. The rooms are really nice. They smell good, are clean and have everything you need and a little more, e.g. is there a regular shower and rain shower, bathrobe/slippers in the room and lovely body shampoo which smells really good.
It is nicely and maritimely furnished.
We stayed with a view of the pool, mountains and sea and it was really beautiful.
The children's room was next to the front door, so there was a little noise from the road. I actually think you can easily get rooms that are completely quiet. But it didn't bother us and for the price it exceeded all expectations.

The staff are simply incredibly service minded, smiling and create a really good atmosphere.
They give rather than take. Maybe it's common for Cretans but we consistently had the feeling of being treated like a trusted friend. For example in the hotel's small shop I got a nail polish remover where the owner said "you just pay me later", with a rental car there are no surprising extra prices and they do everything to be helpful at the reception with transport and the like. It is a safe and really good feeling.

In addition, you always have the feeling of coming into a clean and neat restaurant, despite the fact that it is a buffet. Everything is cleaned up, new tablecloths put on, dried up, the food is presented deliciously, no matter what time you come to the restaurant.
The taste experience is also nice and there is always good Greek yoghurt, tzaziki, Greek salad, Greek olive oil and GOOD Feta. However, I would still like to spice it up with a trip to a real tavern where the taste buds can also get a little extra Greek.
But there is what you need at a buffet both for children and adults (my son ate fries and ice cream every day!!)

All in all, it's a REALLY good hotel and for the price far above what you can expect.

Wonderful hotel if you have small children. Good pool area which is just right size. Greek coffee corner is a little gem!

Nice staff in the restaurant and bars that also feels genuinely very child-friendly and helpful. The food was good and there were different dishes every day, but as with most buffets you still get tired after a few days.
Took a massage at Maria's place at their spa, it was amazing!

The negative, I unfortunately got stomach sick and as several others write in the reviews, it felt like the hotel wanted to silence everything. Would have been good if they signposted this so people had washed their hands more properly.

The staff at the front desk we felt were less pleasant compared to the other staff, we got ample answers to questions and felt mostly in the way. We did not receive any information when we arrived about either opening hours for restaurant and breakfast, range, where the rooms were and so on. It was very confusing the first few days to have no track of the times or where everything was, or if you could use the beach below and more... The reception just took the passports and when we got them back they just said they wanted to collect the tourist tax later this week. That was boring. We rather took help and talked to the restaurant staff when we had thoughts and needed help instead.

Just come back from a lovely relaxing week at Arminda Hotel.
Excellent location in between Stalida and Hersonissos, 15min walk to stalida or 30min walk to Hersonissos, buses available from outside the hotel every half an hour 2 euros each or taxis 10 euros that the hotel can book for you.
We had a day trip to Heraklion which was 6 euros each way and took about 45mins on the bus but definitely worth a visit.
Lovely clean rooms with towels changed daily and rooms cleaned daily.
Evening entertainment ok, but nothing special but didn’t spoil holiday.
Adult relaxing pool which was lovely with a bar and food served all day, kids pool areas which also had bars and snacks throughout the day, but as adults we stayed in the adult area.
The spa is available for anyone wanting any treatments and the lovely ladies came round the pool areas daily offering 2mins free massages.
Plenty of water activities at a cost and quad bike hire or moped hire locally, which my husband took advantage of and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area, whilst I relaxed by the pool.
Food in the main dining area which served, breakfast, lunch and evening meal, plenty of space and food was good, something for everyone with different themed nights.
There was always a daily cocktail, alcohol served daily till 11pm, only downside was that the local lager was very weak and tasteless.
Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend and visit again.

Stayed 7th May-14th May had two rooms booked we arrived close to midnight check in was very quick we then was told a buffet has been prepared in the restaurant which was a lovely touch after a long day. The hotel is amazing rooms spotless robes and slippers on the bed every member of staff so polite and friendly i thought there was plenty of choices for food and i am a fussy eater we hired a mobility scooter and they let us leave it on charge near reception. Plenty of sunbeds pool was a bit cold entertainment at night was nothing special but one night had an artist playing a violin i thought he was brilliant if you are thinking of staying here book it i certainly will be going back.

The Arminda Hotel & Spa is a great family hotel in northern Crete!
We spent two weeks with our 1-year-old daughter in the family room with garden views and are totally delighted with the facility. Nice and modern furnished room, very short distances, super many offers for young and old make the stay very pleasant. Since it was our first flight holiday with child, we also spent almost the entire time at the facility.

The hotel complex is spread over several levels, all accessible easily (important with buggy). Everything runs through the plains and you never get the feeling that the hotel is breaking full. It is only at dinner that you notice at certain peak times that many holidaymakers are in the hotel.

The buffet is great served every day and there is something for everyone. The quality is good and the staff are very attentive and make sure food is replenished on time and everything stays clean. Super positive we found how friendly and child-friendly the staff is! You can tell that the hotel is geared towards families. The facility is very clean and well maintained.

The various pools invite you to splash, there are enough sunbeds and umbrellas available (we were always looking for them). The bar/snack bar is a nice place to stay, the coffee in the coffee bar is very delicious! The highlight for our daughter was next to the pool the playground, where children can let off steam at any time of the day, as there are also areas with shade.

On the complex there is a mini shop and within walking distance two supermarkets if you need anything. The bus stop is also right next door and the reception issues bus schedules.

The spa offer was used for a full body massage, Maria did sooo well, just for that there are full stars! Absolutely recommended, even if you are unfortunately repeatedly approached by the pool during the day, whether you want to make an appointment at the spa. That would be the only criticism.

We are so glad that we came across this hotel and would definitely recommend the hotel for families!

My son booked this hotel as a birthday treat for his girlfriend. I contacted the hotel in advance to see if they could make the room extra special. Valia, in their reception team, was very responsive to my emails, and arranged a special treat in their room on arrival. They enjoyed their stay at the hotel, and were particularly impressed by the innovative towel designs performed by housekeeping each day! Good food and entertainment. Would thoroughly recommend.

We can only join others who have left positive comments. Special welcome at night at around 00:30, very nice staff, delicious food with a huge variety of fish, meat and vegetarian, vegetables, raw vegetables and desserts. It's great to be able to offer something different and with great taste to so many people every day. It was continuously replenished, so reviews that it was only cold are not correct. In addition to swimming in various pools, you can enjoy sports and games within the hotel. It is a family hotel where everyone can enjoy themselves. Herakilon airport was shocking upon arrival because of its tiredness and dirtiness, but this hotel was very fresh, modern, light and exceptionally clean.

Let me start with the negatives:

The items that require paying

Greek tax
Safety deposit box 10 euros
Towels 1 euro each
Cleaning towels 1 euro each
Cocktails 8 euro ( no hotel options or kids mocktails)

General negatives
Lack of decent entertainment daily and evening.
Kids slide open 10 to 12 and 4 till 6.30
Quality of soft drinks (only local)
Private beach owned by next door hotel so no drinks or loungers

Positives

Rooms
Sleep quality
Decent aircon
Food is good and good selection for kids too
Selection of pools
Slides
Snacks (doughnuts, cakes, popcorn and crepes)
Bar plays football or big sport events (women euro final).
Beach close with water sports (jet ski, canoeing, banana boat etc)

Overall very good hotel, nice staff, just needs to address the negatives as listed above. Heronossiss is only 8 to 10 euro taxi and worth worth a drink on the beachfront.
