We were relieved to realize that lunch prices are about half of the ones charged for dinner--and which we had studied outside the entrance. Even more gratifying was to dig into the colorfully presented smoked salmon salad, paired with a crisp Chablis. The staff were cheerful, efficient and competent--which is great when you need advice about their wine list. At... More

Smakrike is both restaurant and small hotel in a small beach-village called Ljugarn. Laura Ashley inspired rooms with no AC but with excellent beds and nice bathroom. We could hear the neighbour's snoring though.... The breakfast is high quality with home made jam and nice bread. The dinner was good but too small, I left hungry. The service is good... More

I love this kind of small boutique resorts, as they often sparkle with quality and service. Not much different here. Quite fun as the grandmother of my best friends wife used to live in this house :) All the Pro's The house has tons of charm and the rooms are tastefully decorated. As we stayed here for a wedding I... More

Incredibly warm, gracious, and hardworking people, and a property that is beautiful and quiet. Wonderfully furnished and comfortable, and only a block from a sandy beach on the Baltic. Fantastic breakfast and a gourmet dinner. I can't recommend this entire experience highly enough.

Just an handful of rooms. Very welcoming staff. Clean, tidy and comfy rooms. We had a five dish truffle dinner and it was almost heavenly tasty:) Rather expensive but well worth the money. In the summer it is very crowdy in Ljugarn but it still have a kind of stillness. If you go there after the summer season, late august... More

Having stayed in the lovely suite of this hotel a few years ago because of an anniversary celebration, we decided to be a little more modest this time and book an ordinary double room. We were therefore more than pleasantly surprised when this 'ordinary' double room turned out to be just as beautifully designed as the suite, thoughtfully equipped, with... More

For a nice quiet weekend retreat, this was just perfect. The rooms were elegantly decorated. It was a nice spot to explore the rest of the island. The hotel managment were full of information on things to do. Would gladly come back there again.

I stayed in the one suite the hotel offers and for being out on the country side, it sure is a fine hotel. The double rooms (eight as a total) are also very sweet. The beds are nice and comfy, the service of the hotel is so-so, but the restaurant in the hotel is smashing! This hotel is the best... More
