We stayed in the Chateau with another couple and occupied a duplex room in a fabulous place. The owners are in the process of renovating the huge chateau and grounds in 2015 and we know that there have been considerable updating in the last year since we were there. Our area of the chateau had been renovated already and was... More

It is not common two couples using that quadruple suite named Duchesse - a double room, a twin bedroom and an indepenadant sitting room. We host there many families. We can even accomodate a fifth person in the period bed of that sitting room. We are currently restoring the south part of the castle - this year : the huge... More

Well, what an impressive building – you feel very special staying here! The owners were absolutely magnificent, and treated us like guests in their own home (which it is!) It is a beautiful building with stunning countryside views, and immaculately clean. There is a library/lounge for guests, and sherry/port/brandy is available for guests and it is a wonderful relaxation area.... More

The U shape of the three wings around the courtyard of honnor together with the height and huge roof of the Renaissance building facing the village's romanesque church, make it very impressive. The original fortress' defensive walls and towers on the park's side is even more impressive. However, as you have noticed, this castle is quite peacfull and relaxing! And... More

This is the best B&b experience we have had in many years. The hospitality of M. & Mme Penicaud is second to none, we were met by M. PEnicaud who showed us to our room but told us quite a lot of the history of the castle on the way. Our room had a sitting room as well as the... More

Great hospitality, a genuine castle experience that was interesting, prestigious, relaxing and a bit fanciful. We felt well looked after and left alone, only seeing other guests once in our three day visit.

Welcome guests coming from Australia like you did, is for us a special reward : we feel deeply the connection between our two so far apart countries, we remind the time when people from Europe went there and created what Australia is today. We are so pleased our old castle appeals to your people which might be looking for some... More

This is a superb place to stay, right in the centre of a "Beau Village" historical, beautiful location, the owners are great and so helpful giving advice on places to visit, restaurants and booking them for you. Rooms are great historical feel, well equipped, good guest lounge with coffee tea facilities, books in various languages. Breakfast is in the Chateau... More

You could even assist to our summer event on august 18th -a play by Moliere which was given in the Royal Room for 150 persons : a good opportunity to practise your french! Thank you... More

A wonderful hotel with exceptionally friendly hosts. The room was historically accurate with all the modern trimmings you could want. Breakfast was delicious. We would definitely return for a longer visit.

We are indeed permanently looking for the right balance between authenticity and the needs of to day : some modern items among period furniture, top quality sanitary equipments in rooms restaured with noble materials, an independant shower added to the bath when the space makes it possible -two bathrooms out of five, well hidden WIFI equipments to provide free internet... Bed and Breakfast is correct, but is a totally inadequate description of this wonderful place. We arrived late afternoon under some very black clouds, and our hostess for the night, Madame Penicaud, suggested that we quickly take the last guided tour of the day, which was just for us before the deluge. Well the deluge came as our tour started,... More
