WE had a lovely apartment which normally has two bedrooms (we only needed one so the other was locked). The room was south facing, with a lovely outside area and access to a pool with sunbeds (not enough for all rooms but most people go out all day to sightsee) Outside we had a lovely space with a table that... We arrived in the middle of a thunder storm mid afternoon, our host Alessia met us in their covered car park with a golf buggy for our luggage and umbrellas to keep us dry. Alessia showed us to our room while Alessia's husband brought in our cases. The room was bright and airy with a king sized bed, equipped with... More

After having a really stressful day of travelling to volterra by train and bus...(a car or motor cycle is a must have in tuscany), we arrived exhausted . We had 2 wonderful nights in this relaxing quiet and beautifully landscaped villa. We were greeted by our host Allysia and shown to our apartment. A private 1 bedroom with a kitchen/sitting area.... We stayed here for 3 nights while attending a wedding in the area and I cannot fault it one bit. The place is immaculately clean and beautiful. A very quiet location with a picturesque setting for the private pool and gardens. The breakfast served by Allesia is the best I have ever had in Italy, with homemade bread, cakes and... More

The Villa Loghino was definitely one of the best places we stayed during our trip to Italy. The buildings and grounds are very Tuscan in feeling with flowers, a fountain, terraces and a lovely pool. Plenty of parking just inside the gate. When we arrived Alessia greeted us and offered us our choice of two very nice rooms. We chose... More

We stayed here in mid September and were absolutely delighted with the whole experience at Villa Loghino. The place is in a beautiful and quiet setting just a short drive from Volterra. The owners Alessia and her husband Walter are a delightful couple always friendly and eager to please. We had booked a room but Alessia offered us an apartment... More

This is such a lovely and quiet place and the owner is beyond welcoming. She was very helpful by lending us her iron and booking taxis. The apartment itself has got everything you need and is very spacious. It's very clean, too. The outside part is very well maintained and the pool is lovely. Just the right space to have... More

Slightly busy country road nearby, but v quiet generally. Nicely restored, with a pleasant small pool. Yummy and thoughtful breakfast, very helpful staff and a warm welcome. Would stay again if I were in the area for sure. Great restaurant nearby that they recommended and I will try to find to review - Moulin something, about 8km north up the... More

It was a spectacular setting with a cosy room overlooking the gardens and pool area....Alessia, our host, was a doll....She was very patient and full of great ideas of places to see and visit. Breakfasts were served in a lovely gazebo and were out of this world with juice, coffee, prosciutto, cheese, fruit and a fresh baked cake or pastry.... More

We began our stay in Tuscany at Villa Loghino. We were warmly greeted by owner, Aleesia. The double room at the b&b was clean, the grounds stunning, including a lovely pool. It was a great location to visit the town of Voltarra (10k away) or just roam the countryside. We started each morning in an outdoor garden gazebo with an... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Villa Loghino is built at the feet of a woody hill, on the right bank of Era river, in a zone full of excursion paths that are between forests, rivers and gully, in the heart of a suggestive tuscan landscape. It is located in the open country, completely gathered in the green tonalities, nearly to guard the local fauna, still numerous.Villa Loghino is at 5 km from the historical town Volterra, its position permits to the guests to get easily the sea (40 Km) and the main principal towns such as Siena (50 Km), San Gimignano (20 Km), Florence (90 Km) and Pisa (60 Km).The story tells that Villa Loghino was originally the first oil mill at Volterra, facilitated by the presence of harvesting olive fields and by the abundance of the river waters. Then it was leaved apart and it became the cardinal house and then, only for few years, it was habitated by some families and farmers. In 1980 the whole property was bought by the couple Carla and Vittorio Scali, who began immediately a careful restauration of the owners house in order to make a residence for lovers of Tuscany. ... more   less
