A/C barely lower the temp, at most a few degrees below the 90 degree outdoor weather. Mattress was hard as a rock - try lying on your stomach and your knees will hurt like you're lying on a wood floor. Unreliable wifi. Rude front desk staff too. Avoid at all costs.

Balletti Palace Hotel is perfect for a one nigh stay especially if you take the Viterbo P.F. train into town because it's so close. The beds and shower is pretty small, but overall the rooms are very nice. In the morning breakfast is complementary which is nice as well.

My large room and comfy bed were adequate, window that opened to a rare cool breeze provides some relief from relentless heat and poor air-conditioning, housekeeping ladies were gracious and room was clean. The hotel is run-down and 4th floor room shakes when buses drive by. Lobby furniture smells of urine, armchair with broken leg is hazardous, continental breakfast is... More

I know European standards are different when it comes to hotel ratings, but no way would I give this hotel 4 stars. I would say 2 1/2. The only nice part about it is the breakfast room. The hotel room has no fridge and they don't give you bottled water. The light next to my bed did not work. Room... More

We'd booked another hotel, but were told it was fully booked on arrival. The owner drove us to the Balletti. For a town as beautiful as Viterbo, the surroundings are grim. The hotel's located in between the train station and a highway. We checked the room, it was ok. Booking.com stated a EU70 rate. It should be cheaper to book... More

We had a warm welcome at reception,by a charming lady who gave us very helpful information concerning Viterbo and its most interesting locations. However, I was less impressed by the room which had a spartan feel to it with unattractive plastic flooring and damaged wallpaper, making the place appear to far less upmarket than the reception area implied. Surely in... More

The walls are thin (r-e-a-l-l-y thin) between all the rooms in the hotel, so bring ear plugs. The rooms have carpeted floors which, at the time of our one night stay, did not appear to have been deep cleaned in a very long time, so bring travel slippers. Breakfast in the little restaurant was barely competent and the coffee was... More

When i stayed here 10 years ago this was a great hotel. Now it is old and tired. While not dirty it is in need of basic improvements. The air conditioning system in the rooms is worthless (unless you are in reception)....it was cooler to open my window than use the hotels sauna air conditioner. I have also recently stayed... More

When I booked my single room for 60 euro in the off season, I was expecting something quite basic, small and tidy. In Tuscany, that's what I would have received, but here in Northern Lazio, things are a little more generous in the room department. The room was very large, with a full double bed, writing desk, seating and a... More

Stayed for one night during a driving tour of europe. Once found, I found this to be a nice relaxing hotel, close to the centre with modern rooms. Breakfast was very good. Nothing hot bar the coffee, but nice cakes and pastries. Slept well. Oh, and check out the mini bar. One of the cheapest I've ever seen, ever.
