I rarely write any reviews, but here I must. Our experience with this property was absolutely amazing. Extremely corteous and helpful staff, the Resort itself, the rooms, the stunning spa are impressive. Comfy beds, exceptional food. All in all a gorgeous location. Keep the ball rolling Salus Terme, we will come back. Definitely!
Poor signage to the hotel, and only when you're almost at it, so not that easy to find. Hedges lining the car park not pruned enough so they scratch your car (good start). English notices have not been translated by a real Anglophone, so they are weird ("Wear the mask"!). Not one notice in English had been translated correctly. So bored of this. Very slow check in at reception; was the person chosen for her looks rather than her efficiency? We bought a day pass including lunch which turned out to be more expensive than if you'd paid for lunch separately, which is the opposite of what an "offer" is meant to be. Lunch was called "smart" - who knows why? "Regulations" meant that hotel guests sat in the nicer area with the view; the day-pass guests (treat us worse, why don't you?) had to sit in a separate area with no light except for skylights. And there were only four people in the whole restaurant, so a little flexibility wouldn't have gone amiss. Two courses for 30 euros turns out to be only one main course and pudding or fruit; you're not allowed to have a starter and a main course. And the olives were the cheapest, nastiest kind which taste only of plastic. I would expect this type of hotel to have a better menu. The pools and tubs are absolutely wonderful, although some are rather too shallow to be comfortable when it's really cold outside. The website says they clean the pools on Tuesdays, which is a worry as I would expect daily cleaning in this sort of place. We went on a Tuesday and the water wasn't that clean, so I don't know if the pools had already been cleaned or not. There are several lovely places to relax, although the main one has only rather unpleasant tisanes and only paper cups (again, not what I would expect at this level as I imagine they have a dishwasher or two). However, there seemed to be only one water dispenser which we found by chance. Normally, spa places have water in all areas as it's essential to replace fluids in this context. Although the pools and the grounds are lovely, there is continuous noise from the industrial site next door and the military helicopter centre over the road. It's very hard to relax when you're surrounded by a lot of mechanical noise. I wonder why the powers that be sited that hotel there. Most of the pools need maintenance, especially round the edges. Some of the areas around pools are slippery and also need attention. Small point, but there are no hooks in the loos (where do you put your stuff?) All the shower heads I saw needs descaling Difficult to tell which was shower gel and which shampoo; maybe the same inside? All this to say is that the structure is excellent (except for the noise). Everything else is fixable with a decent manager and - essentially - attention to detail.…
I’m a mom who came solo for a night of relaxation. The staff was all really friendly and helpful. The rooms was clean and comfortable. I loved the variety of pools and there are some really nice spots to sit and relax throughout the spa. I had an amazing hot stone massage. Overall almost everything was perfect and I really hope I can do it again soon. My only complaint was the restaurant. The staff was super friendly but I had a few hitches. At lunch my Caesar salad came without dressing. An easy problem to fix but it is basically the main ingredient of the plate. The main problem was in the evening when decided to order room service. I inquired at the front desk at check in to make sure I could and was told yes. I called one of the two phone numbers that were listed next to “room service” next to the phone. The first didn’t respond so I called the second and the person who answered was helpful and took my order but didn’t know the menu and seemed very surprised and confused that the number was listed to call for room service. To make a long story shorter it took 2 hours to get my food. I was told 45 minutes after placing the order that they were in the middle of dinner service and the chef would make it after. Everyone was very nice and apologetic however I really don’t think this is a service that should be offered if it can’t be prioritized at least a small bit. I wish someone would have communicated to me that I should expect a very long wait if I order at certain times or maybe even communicated to the chef before service that someone would be placing a room service order so they could be ready. I also didn’t love the food but it could have just been that I had a heavy 2 course meal at 10:30 pm and then went straight to bed. Breakfast was fine and the coffee was good. I hate to focus on the negatives of such a lovely 24 hours but it really was a long 2 hours to wait hungry when I was just hoping to have a dinner and a glass of wine in my sweats while I watched Netflix after an amazing relaxing day. Overall I would definitely recommend the hotel and the spa. Just go to the restaurant in person if you want to eat there or if you want to eat in your room order delivery from a nearby restaurant. The hotel’s €10 surcharge on room service is more expensive then most delivery charges in the area and I’m sure the delivery would be quicker.…
We loved this thermal spa hotel in Viterbo. There's not much to do in the town itself, but the spa and thermal bath facilities are some of the best we've beem to in Italy. Temperatures of the water and variety of the pools are excellent. The hotel and rooms are not overly fancy, but the thermal baths, spa and staff are amazing, helpful and accomodating. A great place for a relaxing spa vacation.
We loved everything about this hotel... the facilities of both the many pools and the spa treatments. The standard of the rooms are high and the staff are really helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great experience, so far the best hotel I tried in the area (I occasionally come to Viterbo for business). The only things I would improve are the croissants. The thermal pools and the wellness center are amazing.
The Spa is very good, only complaint would be that they have a huge outdoor pool without hot (or even warm) water. It doesn’t make any sense to me. The hotel though is a bit disappointing, I expected more from a 4* hotel. Average room, long empty aisles, average breakfast, and frankly speaking awful location. But if you don’t care and just want to chill out a couple of days at the spa, it’s a good place indeed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salus Terme. We went seeking a relaxing stay after four weeks traveling with a large group of friends. The mineral spas were the perfect antidote! We really relaxing. The pools are both relaxing and restorative. There are many pools and treatments. The saunas were also great. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is very clean. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast was nice also. Don’t be put off by the rooms and long corridors as it’s worth going just for the pools.
I cannot imagine that I had not discovered Terme Salus after having lived over 35 years in and out of Roma! We were so thrilled to find this jewel so close to Roma and with serious thermal baths ranging from body temperature to very hot and very cold, whichever one you chose to use. The elegant pools outdoors were more than relaxing--they were magical, especially toward evening when the light is so beautiful. We were lucky not to have a crowd, but every one of the guests is very private and you feel as if you are in your own personal spa! For us--we who cannot take a lot of sun--there is the lovely indoor warm pool in which one could dream forever!
Nice facility with thermal spa, hotel, restaurant. Very friendly staff, they offer complete services for this kind of structure. Indoor and outdoor pools (water of 36 Celsius degrees!!!). Adults only orientated, very relaxing, looks like something "far from the madding crow". Only one hour away from Rome, right near Viterbo, great place for sightseeing, eating and shopping. A great place for locals and tourists as well. Take your time and enjoy!
