The building is amazing (1500 years old and beautifully renovated) and the views are beautiful. The room are well appointed and very comfortable. The common areas and pool are also beautiful. We made the mistake of going without a car thinking we could get down to the local train which goes along the coast. There was no shuttle service and...

The hotel looks nice and is clean and well maintained. Also it's location is pretty good. The only thing that negatively stood out was the staff. They are very uninterested. We only spoke to them very briefly during checkin and checkout. Could be that their English was just not great but still they could have shown themselves around the hotel...

This property was build in the 16th century by Gianbaptiste della Porta, a famous Italian scientist and writer, who had some serious conflicts with the inquisition. It is now a hotel with about 12 rooms, that all have large sizes. The hotel is up in the mountains, just 3 km from Vico Equense and can only be reached by car...

We stayed for 5 nights with our 3 teenage children and had a superb experience. Our room was cool and quiet (at the back of the hotel) with thick stone walls - I think this was once a monastery . We had a suite with the living area containing wooden daybeds for our children. There was a kitchen area with...

this was a fantastic reasonably price to stay while exploring the Amalfi coast. It is a bit off the trail up a very steep road. The property is very big. We got a lovely room w a nice size balcony. The had a wedding the second night we were there so we're trapped in our room. But the owners brought...

We broke off from our main holiday for 2 nights here to have a base to visit Sorrento, Capri and Pompeii. Excellent place - very well run - very friendly owners (and little scottie dog). Food was of a high standard. We stayed in an old apartment, which had fridge, cooking rings and cutlery and crockery. Big thick stone walls,...

Having stayed in Sorrento for 6 nights with all the facilities close at hand - when we arrived at Villa della Porta we were worried we were in the middle of nowhere (we travelled by train so no car). However, this wasn't a problem. We were driven down to the train station and picked up by the owners when we...

Free parking. The owners were very friendly and helpful as well as all the staff. The breakfast were super with freshly baked croissants. We also had...

Unfortunately we did not get to stay here. We had a reservation but it seemed to have gotten lost. :-( After several minutes of conversation they secured us a room at another hotel but this would have been very difficult for us to manage if we were not traveling with our Italian speaking family. From what I saw, the lobby...
