Fantastic place to stay, fullfilled our expectations 110 %. Many thanks to Giovanna, her family and staff. Absolutely amazing service , food ,scenery and hospitality. And what a building with rooms filled with antiques. Really a holiday to remeber.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer than the one night we booked! The grounds are magical and the history of the estate is so intriguing! Our room was quaint with a beautiful view. This property was literally a monastery several hundred years ago and since that time has remained in the same family for a couple hundred years. They have done a wonderful job of preserving the history but yet having all the modern conveniences for their guests. There are paintings in the building where we stayed on display that were painted in the late 1600's and were displayed in the monastery church which has long since been destroyed. The grounds are stunning with sweeping views of the sea and town below. Additionally, they have huge ancient pillars on the grounds which set off the grounds. I took an early morning "hike" around the area behind the building which was so serene and beautiful. There appears to be a small pool on the grounds overlooking the sea which was not in use while we were there (too cold) but appears to be in good condition and probably is used in the summer months. The breakfast buffet which was part of our stay was delicious! Our hostess, Giovanna, was lovely and very accommodating. Because we flew into Rome late in the afternoon and had to drive down, we arrived very late. Giovanna greeted us and took us to our room. She even brought us tea and a snack before we went to bed. The next day, Giovanna gave us a tour of the historic building and grounds which included the wine cellar below where the monks bade their wine and olive oil. She provided us with the history of the property in great detail which was fascinating. There are even huge wine barrels still in the cellar that are hundreds of years old along with the area the grapes were crushed by foot! The grounds also accommodates weddings and special occasions which can be held indoors or out. I can only imagine how beautiful a wedding would be here! A note about driving here. Be sure to follow the directions they send you. When they tell you to set your odometer when you make the turn onto the very long and narrow road that goes up the mountainside to reach the estate, DO IT! We had a difficult time locating it in the dark and got lost. There is a spot as you ascend that is a T, go to the left! We made the mistake of going to the right which messed up our odometer reading. There is a sign on an ancient wall marking where you turn up a private road/drive to reach the estate but in the dark was easily missed. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here and would love to return for a longer stay myself if I am lucky enough to return to Italy. This is a magical property. Be sure to take a private tour of the property.

We got married here last year in a civil ceremony overlooking the ocean. Giovanna was absolutely amazing and done everything we asked of her and more. Her attention to detail was first class. She went above and beyond for us. I can not recommend this place highly enough. The flowers, food, wine, service and scenery were all perfection.

I brought my wife, her mother, and our two children (ages 4 and 1) here for dinner during our five day visit to the Sorrento area in late September. Before our meal, we were given a tour of the grounds, which included breathtaking cliff-top views of Sorrento, the Bay of Naples, and the surrounding hills. Our hostess also led us through the interior of the main building, where we saw an attic filled with antiques (and a wall of framed photos of a dozen or so Nobel Laureates who have visited the property), and a main hallway with multiple giant paintings from the 1700s. The communal seating at dinner -- and the delicious food (plus desert, wine, and limoncello), capped off a delightful evening that we'll never forget.

Because of a delayed flight, we arrived quite late. Giovanna was so gracious. We were a party of 7, but somehow she presented a wonderful meal 11 pm and made us all feel at home. The following evening she helped us celebrate our son's 17th birthday. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect to explore the Sorrento Peninsula. The grounds are beautiful. There is even a small swimming pool so you can cool off at end of your long day. Giovanna shared the family museum (in the attic) - notice the photo of her as a young woman with the American mathematician John Nash. This is a wonderful property with amazing staff - we hope to return.
