There are a lot of good things about this place- room was quiet and clean, spa area and pool were very nice, they have covered parking and a ski room. We got the half board and wouldn't do it again. For one thing- there is no free water- they serve food and if you want water, you need to buy it from bottles that they fill up on-site. This is an annoying tourist trap trick. The breakfast was OK, not great but adequate. Like most places in Europe there was an impressive selection of breads and pastries. Dinner was hit and miss, mostly we would have preferred to eat somewhere else, partly for quality of food and partly for all the little kids uncontrolled touching things and coughing in the buffet area. On our last day we got a flier with breakfast on events, and one event that looked interesting happened 2 days earlier and we wish we would have known about it. We were there for ski trip- you need to take a bus or shuttle to get to hill, but that worked well.

Dear BallsofThunder, thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you didn`t enjoy our high quality gourmet dinner everytime. Yes, there are a lot of kids around, especially in the holiday season we have a lot of families, because we are a family hotel, as you can see from our website. The main idea of a family hotel is that the kids can feel free and don't have to behave like adults. The water is not included in the dinner as in most hotels and restaurants in South Tyrol. 1 year ago we decided to buy a water bottle fill machine, which mineralizes the water, to fill our personalized water bottles by ourselves to avoid long transport routes and to protect the environment. We inform our guests very well on events, excursions, skibus timetables and so on. Too bad, that you didn`t get the information at our evening mail, weekly programe, information flyer and so on at the reception. Yes, you have to take the hotel shuttle or the public skibus to get to the skiing area, which is only 2km away from the Hotel Famelí. Kind regards, Family Gasser and the Famelí-staff

We have visited the Fameli hotel for the second time with friends & children (all ages) and we love it! Rooms are nicely decorated, spacious for adults and kids (separate space with bunk bed for kids or sofa bed for the kids), bathroom facilities good, love the jacuzzi and small balcony. Restaurant food good quality and nice staff (Giovanni very kind), breakfast buffet (the friendly staff refills where needed) and dinner various and delicious options to choose, even vegetarian or gluten free possible! and also kids menu. Kids can also eat in kids club with friendly staff. Kids club has nice program and you can also leave your little one (1-2 years old we had) safely and having a lot of fun! For the little ones under 4 play ground close to the hotel and fun kids park 5 min by ski bus or car. There they can sledge down (all provided there) a great nice kids piste and also an ice skating track & panorama restaurant. For older kids downstairs in the hotel an area with ping pong table & foot ball table is a succes and close to the bar the tv room with board games for every one to play. Bar of hotel very friendly bartenders Fabrizio & Samuel this year make yummie cocktails! Reception always friendly and willing to help. You can even get the ski pass from them and pay via bank or credit card. Transport to the piste (Kronplatz) for free and very easy in morning with either hotel bus (max 8 persons) and if full take/or skibus 21 stop next to hotel or walk to stop just around the corner that goes frequently during the day. Time tables even provided in hotel. Skischool Cima comes to hotel to make bookings (note: pay cash) and your kids can even be picked up from and to the hotel. Teachers are nice and friendly, speak Italian/German/English and helps you to enjoy skiing for every level. Spa from hotel very nice with spa facilities such as facial, massage & pedicures. Swimming pool and kids swimming pool, sauna as well. Very relax after a day skiing. Ski rooms available and garage to park your car inside as well. All in all perfect hotel for a pleasant and nice stay. Would highly recommend it to families!

Dear Family, thank you very much for your lovely review. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay in our Hotel Famelí - small family & spa resort dolomites. With our different room types we try to satisfy the needs of our guests. As you already said we have rooms with separated rooms for the kids or without and we also have the jacuzzi whirlpool in 70% of the rooms. Our kitchen team does not only cook mediterrean - tyrolean dishes, but also have gluten free / vegeterian / vegan (...) options (on request). And a yummy kids menu with typical dishes for kids. The girls from the Kids Area prepare a super cool programme for the whole day from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the kids. They play in the indoor Kids Area or outside in our Famelí playground garden. As you already said the Kronplatz, the best skiing resort 2018 in the Alps, is only 2 km from the Hotel Famelí. And the public skibus goes every 20 minutes the whole day to the lifts. Also our Famelí shuttle brings you to the lift in the morning. Our Famelí spa with saunas is only open for adults, but we also have one sauna, which is open also for kids. We also offer massages, beauty treatments (also for kids)... The two swimming pools are also the whole day accesible. Ski rooms and garage are free of charge. Thank you again for your excellent review. We would be really happy to welcome you and your whole family again at our Hotel Famelí. All the best, Family Gasser and the whole Famelí staff

This is the 2nd time that I have booked the hotel for my family and myself. Again, the service, cleanliness and food were beyond our expectations. Always service with a smile and they really walk the extra mile. The owner of the hotel even took the time to take us skiing for a day and acted as our personal tour guide. it was a gain an amazing experience.

The overall impression of the hotel is clean, cozy, warm and welcoming. The staff really go the extra mile and will give you a smile wherever you go. Our children, 4 and 1, have had the best time! The daycare staff were super friendly and are real professionals, you leave your kid with them without any worry. The (2!) swimming pools were great for after skiing. The food (breakfast and dinner) was very good! Lovely 5 course gourmet meal each day. For the kids they serve a special kids and baby menu. The rooms were clean and pretty comfortable. The only minus for us were the beds, they were too firm in our opinion. Overall; fantastic stay and would definitely book again. The owners and staff members really made our stay unforgettable!

Hotel Fameli is a nice looking and well located hotel in the picturesque mountain resort Valdaora di Mezzo / Mitterolang. Our suite was rel. big and well furnished. My husband and I had a separate bedroom with a big wardrobe, while our 2 children slept in a separate alcove, on bunk beds (facing a window). The suite had a balcony with nice views to Kronberg. The hotel offers its own shuttle to the nearest ski station leading to Kronberg, though guests can use the communal ski-bus (which stops next to the hotel's main entrance). There is a big underground parking which we appreciated very much (incl. the daily cleaning of the entrance to the parking). The food (on half board basis) and the hotel's restaurant were both very good, though - admittedly - we have had better experiences in other hotels in Südtirol and Tyrol. The "jause" was rel. small and did not include any hot drinks (i.e. we had to pay for them). The only big minus is that our kids could only use the hotel's small and rel. dark / unattractive pool, as the big one was reserved to adults on ALL afternoons (i.e. the time when typically families go swimming with their kids). All in all, we liked Fameli and would recommend it to families who don’t want to spent an awful amount of money for their ski holiday in Südtirol.

Dear guest, thank you for staying in our Hotel Famelí with your family. We really appericate your valutation. We are very happy that you liked our big Suites with beautiful views to the Dolomites and the huge skiing area Kronplatz / Plan de Corones. We try to offer our guests a big comfort, therefor we bring you with our Famelí-shuttle to the gondola, which is only 3 km away. We also offer the Famelí-Kron-ski-lessons for our little guests: the kids get picked up at about 9 a.m. from the the Hotel Famelí and they will be brought back at about 3 p.m. We have 2 garages, there you can park your car for free. We are verry sorry, that you are not 100% happy with our fare, but we offer half board (breakfast + dinner) and a small, high quality cake and fresh fruit buffet in the afternoon. It is not omnipresent in Southtyrol, nor in Italy that the beverage is included at the cake buffet. We try to offer not only the kids a beautiful holiday, but also the adults. Therefor we decided it would be reasonable to create space and time for the parents, that includes: one of the swimming pools from 4 p.m. (we changed timetable) only for adults, possibility for the kids to have lunch and dinner in the Kids Area with our trained caretakers, weekly programme only for adults (yoga, nordic walking); We know that not all of our guests are 100% happy with that regulation, but the majority loves spending time with their partner, without the kids. Though we hope you had a wonderful family holiday in the middle of the South Tyrolean Alps and we hope to see you soon. Thanks! We try to improve your suggestions. Kind regards, Katja Gasser and the whole family team
