The location is very beautiful as between the lush garden, the splendid beach and the fabulous sea it enchanted me. However, there are improvements to be made: my husband and I stayed in a clean but dated room. For 10 days there was little hot water, breakfast could be improved with that coffee machine that leaves something to be desired. Internet almost non-existent. Good dinner, applause to the waiters who are very helpful. To go up to Tropea you have to take 186 steps up and down so there is the train but we never took it because we never saw the stop so the road is a a little dangerous, if you have any walking problems, zero free service.

The complex itself has pretty surroundings, and its location is virtually on the beach, making it a nice place to stay. However, the individual apartments need upgrading, and most of all air conditioning. Our family of four stayed at the beginning of August, and without even a fan in the room, it was impossible to sleep comfortably at night. If you left the windows open, the mosquitoes would eat you alive! Nonetheless, it can boast the most gorgeous beach in the world, and I guess that's what counts.

Beach is top notch, people are warm and welcoming. The included breakfast was adequate and average. The facility is hopelessly outdated and in need of renovation. The landscaping in the area we stayed was not properly maintained, the steps to the reception area were dangerous (IMO) and there was mold all over the outdoor floor tiles. It appeared that an attempt had been made to clean it but was abandoned. The room itself was dark and smelled of humidity. The mattress was not comfortable and the overhead fan was so noisy that it was difficult to sleep. There was a shuttered window, but without a screen, the bugs eat you alive. Free internet was advertised but not available in room, you needed to travel to reception for good connectivity. There was a bar/buffet at the beach that closed at 9pm! Nothing in the hotel itself. At 80 euros a night I expect better. We stayed 2 nights.

My experience this facility was completely negative. We booked a triple, but on our arrival we were told that only a double was available for a misunderstanding. The next day despite their mistake, the receptionist lady demanded payment for two rooms. In all the Trips I have done with my family I have never found myself in front of such an unprofessional person and without any form of dialogue. He did not even want to provide us with the beach service that we had already paid for, moreover he did not even send the confirmation email when making a Reservation. I find it really sad that in such a beautiful area as Tropea, there are people like this so far in reception, who treat tourists like this.

When we arrived in Tropea, we were sharply disappointed in the other lodging we had reserved and paid for. We considered leaving. But walking through the village and down onto the beach, we came across Le Roccette and were thrilled to find an apartment available. Now here's the good part--the cost was LESS THAN HALF what we paid for the disappointing place we'd left. And the facility was nicer far beyond what we hoped for! The Le Roccette apartment was clean, sunny, private, and quiet. We had access to the private beach with umbrella and chairs. We had our own private terrace AND balcony with marvelous views on all sides. We had a small but lovely kitchen and nice, roomy bathroom. The landscaping and and plantings are exquisitely beautiful. We enjoyed all of it. We stayed for 8 days and loved every minute. We walked up to the village every day and took several day trips from Tropea. Every time we returned, we counted our blessings on finding such an idyllic place. Our hosts Danielle and Anuncio were considerate and helpful and made us feel welcome and cared for. There are several restaurants only steps away, but we shopped at the little markets just around the corner and cooked our own meals and ate on our own terrace. For us, Le Roccette San Leonardo is a little slice of heaven!

I came late, far after the reception got closed, but there was still someone to let me in. The hotel consists of numerous houses with different types of rooms, you can even get one with kitchen. My room was modest, but sufficient and comfy. It was clean, the bed was huge and balcony had a table, chairs and a deck chair. It was great to sip a drink in the evening while watching old town from a short distance. There are some details (especially in the bathroom) that could be done better, but nothing worth struggling. Breakfasts at the terrace were nice and everyone could get something to eat. The service is very nice and helpful. The best thing is a beach with hotel's deckchairs. Small, clean, with a lifeguard. Perfect place to have a rest (even if I came for a training).
