In the heart of Tropea, right in the historical centre of the small Calabrian town are situated the three Jewels (Gioielli): Suite Topazio (Topaz), Suite Smeraldo (Emerald), Suite Zaffiro (Sapphire); The three beautiful suites represent the colours of our nature: the green of the hills, the azure blue of the sky and the sea and the yellow colour of the sun.In each of the ambiences we respected the spaces that offer the possibility to withdraw oneself for a pleasant conversation as well as the colours of the furnishings. The residence “I Gioielli”, a recent construction, offers his guests the possibility to live a unique vacation, enjoying to the fullest the natural rhythm and daily life of a small seaside town like Tropea. The privileged position of the residence allows the tourist to explore without any means of transport the alleys and streets of Tropea. The terracotta floor tiles, the wood roofs and stone arches give the furnishings the elegance and the typical Mediterranean style.

Beautiful, artisan-level and secure accommodations, stellar balcony, fantastic location. Host Pasquale's service was flawless - he was responsive and provided a thorough introduction to our rooms, spot-on recommendations to local eateries, and excellent communication overall. We easily walked to sites, beaches, restaurants, and shops, enjoyed delicious local dishes and later, a bottle of wine and the view of the coast lit up by the moon from the rooftop balcony.

Unique apartments, in a former wine warehouse, high rooms with a special design.
The location is perfect, at the entrance to the old center, close to the sea and the main ways of access and exit from the city, boutiques for shopping and typical souvenir shops, while in the market and on the alleys you can enjoy the fabulous cuisine of Tropea in the countless restaurants with outdoor tables.
I stayed in the Zaffiro Apartment, which I recommend. This two-room apartment has a spacious living area with a full kitchen, a cozy bathroom and a splendid bedroom with balcony.
Private parking in the garage closed, included in the services of the apartment.

Always wanted to visit Tropea and booked this self contained apartment which turned out to be a renovation in Pasquale’s late grandfathers’ house.
Kitchen dining area with bedroom and shower room make up the Accomodation with a communal terrace above accessed by a steep spiral staircase that this aged gentleman opted not to attempt!
My host, Pascquale, was most welcoming and extremely helpful.
I enjoyed my stay here but would just point out that the sea view is limited and not even an estate agents “stone throw” would be an acceptable description of how far away it was!!
The only disappointment, in this day and age, was that the only (small) tv was on a wall in the small dining/kitchen area that meant sitting in an uncomfortable raffia seat to watch.
But don’t let any of this put you off, I enjoyed a magical two night stay in relative comfort in the centre of a wonderful village that has not, yet, been ruined by tourism!!

Very comfortable and well appointed apartment. If you have a car, I Gioielli does have a garage which is a true asset in Tropea. Excellent location in center of town and within walking distance to beaches. Many restaurants to choose from and Pasquale, the owner, was extremely helpful with recommendations and directions. Highly recommend.

Everything!! Very convenient and central location. Very large apartment with kitchen area and balcony and equipped with all comforts, Great breakfast in a local agreement a few steps from the structure. The availability of the garage for the car which in Tropea is rare.

This has been our fifth visit to Pasquale’s service flat (apartment hotels for Americans). We first found out about the place in 2010.
We stayed there that year, in 2014, then from 2017 for three years in a row. The flatlets are modernly furnished with a kitchen: we don’t want to go out every evening. We don’t want breakfast in a bar either as Pasquale offered us the first year but have it in the flat. The walk to the beach is down the main shopping street and some steps. The walk back is a bit of a slog but good exercise, I suppose! Pasquale is very professional and looks after his guests very well. The flat is well-located at the beginning of the beautiful old town built on rocks overlooking the sea. Tropea is the only international seaside resort in Calabria.
The one star given by a British couple who weren’t even staying in a flat is unjustified. The grown-up son was staying there and he must have messed up the electronic keys hence not being able to get out. We let them through our flat, but they didn’t seem very bright.

There are 3 apartments. Ours faced the road and a pizza restaurant so you couldn't really leave the door open which was the main source of natural light. There was no sitting area except for a table in the kitchenette. Ours was the smallest of the 3 although I didn't look at the others. The owner told us. The price was the same for all properties , ours was far to small for 5 days. The owner was responsive when we had no internet and it was on track after 3 days. Nice touch leaving a bottle of red wine and coffee. The area upstairs was pleasant it would benefit with addition of sun umbrellas The bathroom is good. A few more soaps and towels would be nice. So suggest you take extra if staying a while.

We booked a room on the 21st of September for one night. Excellent accommodation, really friendly helpful proprietor met us on arrival. Would have liked to have stayed longer but we were travelling around southern Italy. Would highly recommend, also very central. Anita and Greg, Ireland

The host Pasquale was very helpfull and was reachable at any time. Cleaning lady was very friendly and nice! The place itself was very clean and quite spaceous. There was everything we needed in the kitchen. We had opportunity to eat breakfasts with amazing views on the rooftop. Maybe would like a little more natural light inside, but not a big problem. Highly recommened 5/5!!
