Used for a stop on our voyage to Tuscany we did not expect that much. What a fool! The staff is very friendly and very obliging. Everything is AC and therefore nice cool, and the breakfast was a real surprise with a big choice of everything you may think of. The only downside is the rather busy road, therefore ask for a room not facing the road.
We booked a hotel at 5pm on our way from Genova to Milano for that same night. From outside it looks little old , but as soon as we came inside it was very nice. The family who run this hotel is extremely friendly. They informed us about a food festival in town and that was a bonus for us. The room was very nice decorated , maybe not real 4star , but very very nice. Perfect bed. Biggest surprise was our breakfast , that was very personal and for sure 5stars. If you are on the road and look for short stay, perfect hotel.
We spent a week staying here. One of us had business in the area. This is family owned and operated but only the husband spoke English enough to communicate. They were all so nice to deal with. We did not have a car and he even drove us to town to a restaurant everyone recommended ... When it was closed so he took us to another place which we ended up eating at 3 times as it was so good and waitress was amazing. The outside is in need of some landscaping cleanup but the rooms are spotless and beds were comfortable. TV, stocked mini-fridge and Internet was available. Breakfast was available in the morning. They did offer me coffee or tea during the day. My husband needed dress shirts ironed and they had a person that did it included in room fees. Only complaint is the room was dark as there were inside hurricane type shutters on the window and drapes which made it a little hard to open.I would highly recommend staying here. I really appreciated how nice they were to us during our stay.…
Tortona is not really on most people's touring map of Italy, but if you are a fan of cycle racing, it is a conveniently placed for a pilgrimage to Castellania, the home town of Fausto Coppi. This small hotel is conveniently located by one of the main entry roads and obviously caters for people who travel through rather than stay on. Nevertheless, they have gone to great lengths to give the Hotel a family feel. There was a little fridge in the room, which you can stock yourself with water etc and the room was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was awesome. Cakes, bread, cappuccinos even a couple of home made mini ham sandwiches they packed in a little bag for our journey. What a welcome releif from the blight that is the 'franchised' hotel chain.
We were referred to this hotel by local people as a 4 star hotel, one of the top in Tortona. Although the hotel does not deserve to be called a 4 star hotel it was a good place to stay for our 1 night stay. Our room was large but a little outdated it was clean, washroom very little amenities large enough and clean. No airco it is an old system, it does manage to give you some cold air circulation but we were wandering how it would be in the summer. It is close to a busy street and you will hear the trains come by. Breakfast was good and included in the price, they made us what we wanted for breakfast. Ample parking and free. The outside of the hotel was ok however it gave a little neglected impression, old stuff it could use some improvement.
