we stayed at the Roccafiore for two nights, two couples. the dinner at the first night was so good and also fun that you can drink a lot and be 5 steps away from your room, so we cancelled our reservation for a different restaurant at the second night and ate there again. we tried the spa twice- don't miss it! we also did the spa tour which was very nice. the staff is very nice and helpful, they offer to assist us with reservations etc. but the best part is the amazing view from everywhere. the grounds are well maintained and the feeling there is amazing. we will come back for sure!! thank you Roccafiore, especially Maximilian breakfast is not too special although the pastries are one of the best we ate in Italy. at dinner, dont miss the beetroot and tellaggio cheese gnocchi, and the ricota filled carpaccio.

I don't like writing bad reviews but felt compelled to do so given the fact that our experience was SO different and at odds with those I read prior to our visit. I booked a massage and body treatment for both my wife and I on a recent Sunday afternoon. We were received in the "service" entry and immediately shown our way to the treatment area. Our therapists did not speak English, admittedly this was our problem-not theirs, so the reception person translated their instructions to us. The hot stone massage I had would be better described as "intermittently sliding hot rocks around your body with little to no pressure." In addition there was no face cradle nor knee pillow. Having low back pain this put me in an uncomfortable position when on my back and an even worse position laying face down with my head turned to the side. A proper "spa" should have the appropriate massage tables and support pillows. Throughout the massage I could hear kids loudly playing in the nearby area--no idea why anyone would think this is acceptable for the setting. There were some pools and saunas but we were given no instruction on how to access them. No idea what other "spa" amenities may have been available to us that we didn't take advantage of due to us not being instructed on what was their for our use. Overall we received passable massages, from very gracious and personable people, but it would be a far stretch to try and paint this as a real "resort spa". Certainly not worth the resort spa prices we were charged. After we were dressed we inquired about the possibility of trying some of their wines. We were awkwardly taken to their restaurant and seated in the corner. Why not try and seat us somewhere that would allow us to enjoy their beautiful landscape/scenery? A server came over and asked us what we wanted. We ordered a glass of wine, drank it then left. No effort was made to show us any of their other facilities, the winery, the hotel, etc. I certainly wouldn't return and as a result of our visit we questioned how our experience would translate to their larger hotel facility. Hopefully it is run far differently.

We’ve acquired a rental BMW X2 with an inadequate GPS that frequently needs to be supplemented by my Google Map app and we’re headed North-sort-of-East from Rome. Todi is our 1st stop and Roccafiore our first Albergo. Another first? We’re some of the first visitors of the season. Todi is marvelous and Roccafiore is absolutely delightful. The staff, the food, the room, the countryside location exceeded our expectations. We travel quite a bit, this would be a definite recommendation.

We had been to the Roccafiore Restaurant once before on a previous trip and knew what to expect. Unlike another reviewer we were the only English speakers in the dining room. The room is lovely and warm. Their wine is very good. For lunch first course we had scallop with pumpkin cream and black ink tulles, Salumi plate with lardo, and cacio e pepe scrambled pasta. For secondi we had Octopus with mashed potatoes and pickled ginger, paccheri with shrimp, and beef cheeks. Although the food was not quite as good as the first we visited, we still had a very nice time.

A winery, resort spa with a restaurant, eye popping views and friendly, attentive service. Who could ask for more? Less than two hours from Rome, this is the perfect place to relax for a weekend, or stop on your way to or from Todi or the big city while touring Italy. The views of the countryside from your room or the restaurant terrace are idyllic and relaxing. There is a full spa including a swimming pool on the lower level. All expected spa services are available. The food is fantastic, albeit artfully stylized, so don’t expect standard spaghetti fare. Prices for everything are reasonable, but service and friendliness are “high end.” Visit Roccafiore before it becomes too popular.
