We have been to Dorf Tirolo about 6 times before (and the Sud Tirol region lots of times over the last 18 years.
This is the first time we have stayed at Hotel Gartner; we wanted a change from the hotel that we have normally stayed at (and have reviewed before - Panorama Vital Hotel Rimmele). We wanted a good standard hotel and this hotel did not disappoint. It is situated on the edge of the village, which means you have a 5/10 minute walk up hill to get to the centre of the village. However it is therefore closer to the chairlift to Meran. We walk a great deal while we are away and there are many great walks in the vicinity. We are always amazed that more Brits don’t visits the area, but that’s how we like it too.
