We stayed for one night to break up our journey between north Tuscany and Rome. First, let me emphasise, the staff are amazing at the Hotel Capo d'Uomo. From the minute we made our booking to after we had left, they were communicative and did everything they could to accommodate us. First we saved money by having four beds in one room rather than two twin rooms. The staff got in touch with us when they noticed both our kids were under five. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help my mother who was unable to make her booking. I accidentally drove off to Rome with my room key. The staff called me 20 minutes later and suggested that if I were too far away they would be happy to accept the key by post (we of course turned the car round). The breakfast was without comparison, the best I had had in Italy this trip with a great selection of charcuterie, fruit and sweets. Sure the rooms are a little dated but why would you want to spend time in your room when the views outside are so incredible. I found the beds to be comfortable and the bathroom was recently renovated. I would recommend insect repellent for the mosquitoes in the early evening.

A great location overlooking the sea and small "beach" area, but the rooms are exceedingly small, and the bathroom even smaller by most standards. Because of this, there is a shower curtain and a floor drain so that half the bathroom area become the shower, but the entire floor area gets wet as the drain slope is not sufficient to drain fast enough. Makes a mess, and for what you are paying, not acceptable. The beds are also not very comfortable. Definitely not a luxury type hotel, which at current prices is what you would expect. Staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is adequate at best. This could also use a "refresh" with more fresh options available to make it something memorable and unique. The management should really take a hard look, evaluate, and invest in upgrading the property to meet expectations for such a special location and opportunity.

While we do understand your criticism about the small spaces it is also important to know that some of the rules and regulations that were in place when the construction of the hotel took place did not allow for better solutions. The type of building that our facilities replaced were not initially thought for hosting guests and when the remodeling took place some things could be accounted for and taken care of, others could not. Other matters, such as the shower, could have been simply taken care of at the time of reservation. Our staff could have booked a room with a shower box for you. We do encourage clients to call or write in advance so we can find the accommodation that is best suited for their stay. There are very few rooms that are alike, and booking through the internet, while it is convenient, does not account for the peculiarity of our hotel.

Spectacular view, perfect service, small rooms but ok....again becausr of the view, location is perfect Tiny bathroom, good food, great coffee, small town but cosy, snorkeling was ok, the beach is not private as you have to pay for chaizlongue down stairs on the beach. Great for short holidays!

This property and its staff exceeded our expectations. We selected Hotel Capo d'Uomo for its scenic location and would return for its hospitality. Front desk and other staff continually provided welcoming, gracious service to our large group of friends traveling together, from making our dinner reservations so we could dine together with no fuss, to familiarizing members of our group w/the local train options, and more. The balcony rooms had lovely views with some physical and visual separation between rooms. The Junior suite(s) are also pleasantly situated overlooking the sea The junior suite photo and description of "private entrance" may lead some (like us) to believe the junior suites each have a dedicated private terrace furnished with table and chairs and multiple outdoor lounges overlooking the sea, however these suites in reality are accessed by three adjacent entrances off a common terrace that has more limited outdoor furnishing and gathering space available for each room.

We have visited hotel Capo D’Uomo only for two nights In June 2018 as part of our honeymoon in Tuscany. When we stepped out of our car we were right away amazed by the location on the cliff and the sea views! Ladies on the reception were nice, speaking well English and offered us couple of rooms to choose from. The sea view room is tiny, but “hey” what’s better then that view?! You need to organize your stuff really well to the wardrobes and put your luggage away so you can fit in 😃 the bathroom is even smaller, but how long you actually stay in the room when you have nice terrace in front and access to the beach. However overall the rooms should be rated lower, the rest of the hotel though brings the rating much higher 😃 The breakfast selection was really nice and eating outside on nice garden with that view is priceless. The breakfast waiter was excellent - older Italian gentleman who has loads to share with you about Italy and more. There’s not many things to do in Talamone and there’s only couple of places where to eat. Out of the main season (early June) there were no boat trips on the weekdays etc. I would recommend this hotel for couple of days only, it may get boring otherwise.

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your input. Our hotel is also a nice location as a starting point to visit the southern side of Tuscany. The inland offers several opportunities for daily trips and visits to small and charming villages. We are sure that even for longer stays it would be difficult to get bored :)
