This place is truly amazing. Marta is the perfect host. She treated us like family. She made sure all our needs were met. Gave us recommendations. The bedrooms, the courtyard, the hallways, the terrace where the breakfast is served are charming. The views from the terrace are breathtaking. The beds are comfortable and the location is perfect, in the historical center. We will definitely be back Marta. The bathrooms have been upgraded with modern fixtures. You will not be disappointed.

We stayed two wonderful nights in July. The B&B is located in a medieval house just inside the city walls. It is within easy walking distance of all the major squares and sites in Sulmona. There is nothing medieval about the accommodations: rooms are extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Marta is a terrific hostess. She was gave us excellent recommendations about restaurants and touring locations both in the city and in the area. Best of all is the roof top breakfasts with a panoramic view of the city and the Apennines beyond.

We stayed here for three nights in the room downstairs just off the entrance hall, which was extremely comfortable and recently renovated. The water was piping hot. Marta was an amazing hostess and saw to our every need, including recommending wonderful places to eat. Breakfasts were generous and fun, because you sat with other guests and shared your travel experiences. The B&B, which dates back to the 13th century, was well situated in being central to everything of interest in Sulmona, which, of course, is unique among Italian towns having a medieaval history, in being largely flat and easy to get around. Apart from your room, you can go up four floors to the rooftop terrace where you can get 360 degree views of the town and the surrounding snow-capped mountains, which are spectacular. When you arrive, drive down Via Roosevelt, which becomes Corso Ovidio and take the second road on the right, which is Via Ercole Ciofano. At the end of this road, turn left into Via Corfinio. You will find the B&B located at No. 62 on the left side of the road. Thanks to poliziotto, Dino, who assisted us and then telephoned Marta to tell her that we were on our way. Marta then came with us in our car to show us where to park, as this B&B is in a ZTL parking area. A great BB! We will definitely be back again.

We stayed here May 29,30,31. It's like going back in time, except with a comfy bed, air conditioning, and running water! You enter through a beautiful indoor courtyard. The rooms are full of interesting antiques. Up two more flights is an amazing rooftop garden terrace with views of the mountains, rooftops, and bell towers. Unfortunately the weather was not cooperating for us to eat up there, but we went up twice just to look around and take pictures. Breakfast was excellent, with local meats and cheeses, hommade cakes, and pannacotta with strawberries. On the third morning Nancy made a frittta with potatoes. Marta the owner, who lives in the building (I like it when the B&B owners live in the building!) was a great hostess. Sulmona is a great town - I coud spend a month there, and in Il Marchese del Grillo!

We stayed for a week at the end of May, and used Sulmona as the base for walking in Abruzzo. The weather impacted our walking ambition, but the walks we did were stunning. Marta and her team at MdG are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. The location is perfect in Sulmona and the accommodation is lovely... It was everything we wanted and I can't find a single fault. We will be back, hopefully when there is less rain...
