My wife and I stayed at Wallace’s Art House Spoleto during the fall of 2007. After a long, tiring day of travelling, we were welcomed by Wallace himself at the Spoleto train station. He generously helped us with our luggage and drove us to the door of his beautiful medieval tower. After settling in a bit, Wallace toasted our arrival... More

My husband and I emailed Wallace about availability based on TripAdvisor reviews, and we found everything we read about Wallace's Arthouse to be true. We spent three wonderful days in Spoleto. It was an easy train ride from Roma, and Wallace was kind enough to meet us at the train station. From that moment on, he was an amazing, attentive... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Arthouse. We really loved every aspect of it. Never having been to Umbria before, we were happy to have chosen Spoleto as our base. It's not as small as some of the hill towns yet not as big as say, Perugia or Assisi. We found it just the right size in... More

Through the internet, we found Wallace’s Art House in the city of Spoleto, Umbria. After a delightful stop for lunch in charming Cortona and a hideous search for parking in Spoleto (because of a wild weekend wine festival), we finally found the Art House, the brainchild of a relocated Scotsman who used to design knitwear for Donna Karan. Wallace’s is... More

A friend of mine recommended Wallace's for my recent trip to Italy. Wallace doesn't disappoint; his home is beautiful, and he has thought of everything. The architecture is grand, the views are stunning, and Wallace went miles out of his way to help with everything. This is a different type of accommodation to anything else I saw in Italy, truly... Heard about Wallace's Arthouse from friends. Imagine staying in a tower where in mediaeval times Spoletans poured boilinhg oil over enemies trying to enter their city. Now it's occupied by Wallace Shaw a retired designer who has become 'mine host' He's got a great taste in piano jazz, makes breakfast bread to die for and as a Scot who has... More

From our very first communication to being personally escorted to the arthouse close to midnight, we knew that staying at Wallace's was going to be like staying with family for the first time. There is no limit to his hospitality, great taste and genuine care for the arthouse and it's guests. Wallace made us a fabulous breakfast every morning and... More

According to the touristic laws Wallace's Arthouse Spoleto is called a B&B, so we understood, but it is much more than that. Wallace’s Arthouse is situated next to a remaining City Tower. Quite new it opened in 2005. It ows its special atmosphere to a modern and sober design without not being cosy. The Arthouse contains four large double rooms... More
