Lovely hotel where it seems to be Christmas all year round, or at least until February when we stayed. I liked the large rooms and the service provided by the staff was exemplary. The bar is very cosy and authentic although price of drinks seemed pricey. Restaurant wise we were half board so 4 course meal in the evening and buffet breakfast, both are very well served and presented, We used the spa one day c£10 per day per person, kids were able to use pool until 5:30pm that proved useful, didn’t use the spa area but looked to be well appointed. For the skiers amongst us, this is skin in/out hotel the boot room is next to the entrance to hotel and you are provided with a card and personal locker. The locker will fit two sets of ski’s, boots and poles anymore try and get two lockers. Overall lovely hotel, great service.

Good hotel. Check in was terrible and we did not get the information we needed as ski beginners. Later the service improved and was very helpful with restaurant booking. The hotel is isolated from the city and the main ski sites. Do not come without a car. Food options are limited (mainly for kids) but the hotel bar is great with apres ski parties and complimenty food.

We chose the hotel for its situation (ski-in and ski-out) and for its spa. Unfortunately we got really disappointed. The spa was not included and we knew that before arriving. But: the jacuzzi indoor was cold, the one outdoor dirty (the water needed to be changed) and 1 out of 4 saunas not working. When complaining at the hotel, we were told that the spa is not part of the hotel and it’s not their responsibility. That might be but the hotel use it as an advantage on their homepage and as a customer you book the hotel because of the spa and not the spa for the hotel. The room had no place to hang up our skiing gear (jacket, pants) so they can dry. The bathroom was not cleaned probably (a lot of dust) and the shampoo was not filled up. We ended sharing the last drops between 3 rooms the last night. Furthermore housekeeping didn’t close our room twice so anybody could have entered our room. No apologies about that. The restaurant has great food when served. 3 out of 7 evenings we got the wrong food or the first course while eating the appetiser or first and main course at the same time... it was chaos. On the other side we paid 3! Euros for tap-water and the price for a small beer changed from day to day. Once it costs 4,5 then 6 euros. When ordering a glass of wine I was suggested the most expensive one. I felt ripped off. If you want to charge these prices I want perfect service but that was not the case. When asking or complaining about the wrong food I felt like a pain in the a.. for the waiters. On the last day we were supposed to get breakfast bags. Surprise they made 6 for our party of 7 people!

After spending a week at the hotel a year ago, this repeting week turns out to be a completely new experience in the restaurant. This year it turns out to have no wine guiding at all after such a special treatment last year. On top of that are we forced to sit at the same table where all the personell and viditors are standing and walking. Something got really wrong in the service leadersjip of this business. Can not recommend it any more, ungortunstely.

Staff are attentive and provide an excellent service in all areas. A shuttle service is provided in the morning and afternoon and can be requested by phone directly from the driver. My room (302} was designed as a single room, but had two single beds, which made it rather cramped. Bathrobe, flip flops and toiletries were provided. A safe and minibar were also there and a capsule espresso machine included a free capsule daily. Satellite, large screen TV with limited English Sky programmes. The bed was very firm and made up daily. A large balcony enabled great views and an afternoon suntrap. Shutters could be closed to allow ventilation with doors open at night. I asked for a high quiet room, but noisy neighbours and poor sound insulation prevented relaxation until they succumbed. The door is not sound insulated and noise from the corridor penetrates easily. For a hotel of this class, that is poor. Breakfast offers a choice of cereals, fruit salad, yoghurt, cheeses, cold meats and hot dishes, such as pancakes or bacon, eggs and hot vegetables. Good selection of sliced or local breads. Espresso coffee can be ordered or tea collected and made from a hot, but, non-boiling water urn. Dinner is well prepared and served, but be prepared for small portions in the second and third (menu) courses. Hot and cold anti-pasta starters are provided from a great selection that is changed daily. Desserts are unsurpassed and required a double dose of statins! The wine list is extensive and very expensive! Asking for tap water confuses the staff, and is supplied in a carafe, costing €3, a charge that was both unexpected and unwelcome. Bottled beer varies from €6 and draught beer from €9 for 500ml (including a lot of froth). Avoid spirits like the plague as a gin and tonic cost €18!! A bottle of Bombay Sapphire is, at the time of review, £17 in UK! Spa, gym and swimming pool facilities are available at extra cost, but, as I didn’t use them, I can’t review them. A ski room provides drying lockers with a shelf for helmet, glove and boot driers and space for skis and poles. Benches are provided and it is well lit and warm, but involves a descent of some steps and is just outside the hotel front door. A short stagger across the hotel forecourt reaches the, somewhat treacherous path to the piste with a gentle descent to lifts to main pistes in Sestriere or to the mountain above Sauze D’Oulx, San Sicario etc. To return to the hotel, a chair lift is taken to its mid-station and a gentle traverse ends at the same treacherous short path; those on rental skis can attempt to descend it on skis with a nifty Stem Christie to avoid a face plant into the gash skip enclosure! Overall, I can praise the great staff and service here and cannot support previous complaints about cramped bathrooms or poor service; I would return here if I needed to ski the same area again and few hotels offer such easy access to the piste with the option of a free shuttle service to and from the lifts if required. I can only criticise the extreme bar pricing, charge for tap water and the poor sound insulation in the room.
