Detailed Reviews
Just had one of the most tremendous ski holidays in the Dolomites, after staying in the Hotel Rodella. From the day we arrived the hotel owner George and staff couldn’t do enough for us, a special mention to Tanya, Gabriella, and Armando. The hotel evening meals were excellent, and the selection was great, there was a very good wine selection which we sampled plenty of to accompany our meal each night. George the owner himself one evening presented everyone with nice local wines and cheeses to sample which was interesting. Every morning we ate breakfast were there was a great selection of fruit, continental style breakfast and various cooked eggs such as fried, omelette, scrambled etc. The location of the hotel is idyllic place with fantastic views, was lovely sitting outside in the Hot Tubs or swimming in the heated pool, the Spa area is well designed and a great place to chill and a few nights George brought us some Aperol Spritzer’s down which was a nice touch. We read reviews about the short journey to and from the ski lifts by minivan, to be honest I was slightly pessimistic on this. But was proved wrong it was never a problem to be picked the group up or dropped off by George, and I think the lovely chap called Oliverio and the rest who were there for us each day. The hotel rooms were comfortable, clean, and spacious and would recommend it to anyone who’d like to visit Selva di Val Gardena at winter or summer. Will 100% be back to the Rodella at some point.

Hotel's Favorite
Lovely hotel, great facilities, clean, fantastic staff who were all really friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The location is great, just outside the town, which is nice because you get a beautiful view from the terrace/rooms but also it is quiet with good access to lots of trails. If you need to walk into town it's surprisingly flat, for a mountainous region, with no big hills into Selva. Santa Christina is down a bit of a hill though.
The food was excellent, I don't think there was anything I didn't enjoy, there were a couple of options for each course every night, the salad is basically a meal in itself! Breakfast was also brilliant. My wife has Coeliac's so needs gluten free, one of the reasons we like having holidays in Italy is because we generally find Italy to be amazing at this and Rodella were one of the best places we've stayed. There were lots of gf choices and if not the chef could make adaptions for her every night, and were very happy to accommodate!
We were trying to think of negatives but really couldn't, everything is exactly as it appears online, and overall I felt it was good value given the level of service and location.
Highlights for us were drinks on the terrace before or after dinner, swimming in the pool after a long walk and the music night!

We are so happy that you did find nothing negative about our hotel and services. Nice to hear also that you find every day a lot of choices for your gluten free meals. We would be happy to welcome you in our family run hotel.

We had a great weeks skiing in Selva, and staying at the Hotel Rodella. We were a group of 13, of varying ages (from 70+ down to 8!), and everyone could not have been more helpful. The kitchen was very accommodating with the food, and variations were always available for the children. The shuttle bus service was excellent, and again they were very accommodating with any additional requests.
The rooms were all very comfortable, and the wellness suite was a great addition for the skiers. Two of us stayed in the new rooms, which were fabulous and beautifully decorated. The hotel was so quiet at night we all slept well.
Monika was amazing, her English was excellent and she could not have been more helpful, even collecting the children from the games room when their dinner was ready!
I would highly recommend Hotel Rodella and the Selva ski system.

Quality of food and drink very good; everything was spotlessly clean and a very comfortable stay. The shuttle runs to the main ski lift were great with the option to divert to closer to the ski school when transporting little ones. Highly recommended.

Just back from our sixth stay at the Hotel Rodella which my wife and I first visited in 2014. It's very much my happy place and this fabulous hotel is the perfect base to explore the 1,200 km of skiing available in and around Val Gardena and the connected valleys of the Sella Ronda. The hotel's morning and afternoon shuttle bus makes it easy to access key lift stations to begin and end the day: this fully mitigates the out-of-town location which delivers the bonus of awesome views of the surrounding mountains (perhaps best viewed from one of the outdoor hot-tubs or the stunning infinity pool).. The owner George and his fantastic team were, as ever, the epitome of hospitality and attentiveness. The quality and choice available at breakfast and dinner were, as on previous visits, outstanding and the facilities of the hotel make the whole experience of staying at the Rodella a joy. Most highly recommended. Looking forward to visit number seven...

Owner Georg and his small team of staff are SUPERB. They couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful - always smiling and laughing with guests.
Our room on the first floor was light and spacious with a balcony, mountain views and a very comfortable bed.
The restaurant is excellent, offering a large choice for breakfast, a delicious five course dinner and a great wine list - we loved the local wines Lugana (white) and Lagrein (red).
Hotel Rodella is situated on a quiet road on the outskirts of Selva, but the hotel shuttle takes you to and from different ski lifts within the Selva area making access to the slopes very easy and effortless.
After a day's skiing, the spa area is a wonderful place to relax with a stunning outdoor infinity swimming pool with beautiful mountain views, especially at sunset.
All in all, a fantastic hotel with the most friendly staff we've ever come across.

This hotel is in a beautiful position with fantastic views onto the slopes and crags of the dolomites.
Although initially we were concerned about it being a little outside the town the shuttle service meant that we hardly walked at all with our skis. In addition, the hotel is only a few minutes from a very pleasant walk into the town down the old railway line which made an 20 minute afternoon stroll into the town really easy.
The spa facilities at the hotel are second to none and a great way to unwind in the afternoon.
However what really makes this hotel a pleasure to stay in is the people. Whether at the reception, in the shuttle bus or at dinner the service was always at a high level and with a comfortable friendliness that made it feel like home. A huge thanks to all the team for a fantastic holiday.

Honestly the best ski hotel we have stayed in and it reflects exceptional value too.
The room was spacious and very clean, we had a bonus view of the mountain despite being roadside. Beds were comfortable and the hotel is very quiet. The spa area is sublime and because it is a small hotel it never feels busy! The roof top hot tubs in the snow is very special. The food is fantastic and more than plentiful, but the quality of the ingredients and produce is also excellent. George is an amazing host (clearly loves what he does and has immense pride in his Hotel, and rightly so) and really runs everything from the front, and for me the jewel in the crown are Georges front of house team in the restaurant, they work so hard but always with a smile on their faces and nothing is too much for them.
Despite being a little out of the town the hotel puts on their own regular transport to whichever lift you wish to start/finish at.
We will definitely be back as I’m not sure the whole experience can be beaten. George and Team, thank you for a first class experience!
If there was one minor thing that could be improved, a smart TV which could either connect to your phone or has access to more English channels would be good, but I’d be nitpicking!!

This family run hotel was very friendly and welcoming. A real 3 generation family team.
The waiting staff were excellent, always polite and could speak at least two languages fluently.
The food was excellent, so much choice at breakfast and evening meal. All cooked and presented to a high standard.
The swimming pool, sauna, steam room and leisure facilities were excellent and very clean.
Our particular room was perhaps a little disappointing with regards to size and not quite as described in the travel company brochure but as we were out most of the day it was acceptable.
Had the weather been poor I think it would have been nice to have a comfortable lounge area to go to.
The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from Sëlva centre but frequent bus service with a stop on the hotel doorstep.
The only negative was the limited number of sun beds (6) available by the pool so only managed to get one on one day of a 2 week holiday!
Recommend for a summer walking holiday as lots of cable cars, chair lifts open and numerous walks from the hotel and within a short bus ride to the cable cars, etc.
Stunning scenery
All in all I would recommend the hotel - hospitality was great!

a very special hotel, cannot be faulted, Georg and his staff were fabulous, so helpful to us all and we were a large mixed group (14) of walkers and skiers. the shuttle to the lifts was so easy. the skiing was exceptional as there wasn't much snow but the runs were groomed immaculately ensuring the 'Sella Ronda' route was skiable in both directions. a trip to the Hidden Valley is well worth the effort. After skiing in France the welcome in Italy was a nice surprise ; and the prices too.

I'm sure there was mountain bike routes but as we were skiing not 100% sure, there was mountain bike shops in Selva. If you email the Rodella George will be able to tell you as he's very helpful.
