We are a small group that planned to visit Selva but cannot go because American tourists are not allowed in at this time due to Covid-19. Instead of rolling over our $4200 payment for a trip in 2021 Acadia kept it. Be careful when dealing with them.

Dear Samantha, Your words, as a Tour operator, therefore being professionally involved in hospitality, are hurting us. After all our efforts in trying to find a solution for your clients and after our coworkers spending a lot of time trying to help you as best as possible (f.e. by postponing already once the arrival date to better suit your needs) we encountered a lot of human and professional disrespect. You chose the strictest cancellations policies because you were desperately trying to squeeze out the best deal. We understand that and were glad to offer you such deal. Now we have to kindly ask you not to blame us for following the policies you chose (since there were other options for you as well). Also, the current situation in Italy regarding COVID19, is starting finally to look better, all the environment is safe and we would have been overly glad to welcome guests especially if they traveled half the world only to come to visit us and the beautiful Dolomites. If the American government has issued travel bans, this is an issue which is unfortunately out of our hands to solve. We will always be at your disposal and with us you, and all our guests, will always encounter warmhearted and mindful cooperation. We wish you and your dear ones the very best for the following (difficult) months. With kind regards, Gevin

Fantastic hotel in a great location. All the staff are extremely friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble - in particular, Artan/Toni is a fantastic waiter. The rooms are spotlessly clean, very well kitted out and extremely comfortable (the bed was one of the most comfy I have ever slept in). The location is perfect - very easy to join and return from the Sella Ronda. It's possible to hire or service skis from the depot opposite the hotel and purchase lift passes from the bottom of the Nives lift, also next to the hotel. A great ski room in the basement of the hotel, makes it all very easy. More variety in the restaurant would have tempted me to eat more meals in the hotel but when we did, it was delicious!

I loved staying here on my first ski trip to Val Gardena. Located right across the street from an excellent ski rental and immediately next to a ski lift that will get you to the main gondolas the location couldn’t have been better. Basement ski storage and garage for on site parking. Also just a 5 min walk to restaurants and shops and even closer to a supermarket. The food for both breakfast and dinner was exceptionally good. The breakfast buffet is extensive. Despite the dinner menu being very limited the food is exquisite. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. No on site laundry but one close by.

I said that i’d come back ‘in a heartbeat’ and so we did. The Acadia lives up to its tag line of ‘your mountain home’ as the management team and staff are all superbly welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are spotless and have everything you need and location next to the Nives ski lift is very convenient. Breakfast is a real treat with good quality ingredients and plenty of choice. Dining arrangements have been changed this year - and sadly not for the better (in our opinion). Last year we took advantage of a wonderful half board arrangement which show-cased the chef’s talented abilities. Whilst food quality is still good and the wonderful ‘Maitre D’ Toni is still around to share his wine knowledge, evening meals in the new Bistro are just not the same, with a limited menu which is the same all week and which does not encourage repeat dining.

We arrived to the manager and the front desk associate greeting us by name in the lobby. In fact, the entire staff recognized us by name, they were all friendly and accommodating at every turn. The garage was small, but the staff was very helpful assisting us park. We were treated to their evening aperitif and they worked us in for dinner the first night, although we had no reservations. The meal was an outstanding multi-course experience, with local touches in a new European style. Our room was lovely with a country alpine feel. We were on the top floor, but the elevator goes only to the 3rd. Walking the last flight was not a problem and was welcome exercise after meals. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom had ample space and the windows opened to allow the mountain air in. The staff had excellent recommendations of local activities, lifts to view points, equipment rentals and the typical suggestions you would expect. They live there as well as work there, so they had very good "insider" suggestions. They also had a very entrepreneurial attitude to hosting - we had the real sense that they were personally invested in our enjoyment of our stay. We also found their understanding of English very good, which was important as our Italian was severely lacking. There were two parts of the outside deck that extended from one side of the hotel around the front to the other. The main portion was open, with a few tables and chairs for sitting and enjoying the view. The other part was covered but still outside, allowing us to still enjoy the fresh air despite a few raindrops. We enjoyed sitting outside most evenings and found conversation with other guests delightful. In the covered portion there are wingback chairs with blankets nearby and I found it to be a good place to enjoy a cigar at the end of the evening. The hotel is also a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and a block away from the town grocery store. It was easy to navigate our walks and we didn't need to drive once we arrived - we walked the entire time we were there. The hotel is a lovely property with style, attention to detail and excellent on-property dining. We would definitely recommend the Acadia and will certainly return.
