This review serves as a warning, not as a recommendation of any sort. I've had the bad fortune of visiting this hostel a while ago, in a stiflingly hot summer, together with my then girlfriend. I agree totally with another reviewer that this place reminds the visitor of both 'the Shining' and the 'Blair Witch Project' -- alternatively you may think of the hostel as a horror version of Fawlty Towers, ergo comically bad service meets a nightmare.
The hostel is scarcely situated in the town it claims to be in, up in the hills, far from the town centre at the coast. Forget going there if you've arrived at Savona by train; to reach it from the station means either a steep uphill walk of an hour or two, or getting a lift by the owner, who, if you have spotted him in the confusion of taxis and buses, seems to hate you for having the gall to need a lift.
From a distance, the architecture of the hostel looks utilitarian. As a historian it reminded me of a worker's holiday... More
