Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice

My husband and I stayed at relais villa savarese for our honeymoon at it was perfect! I had done a lot of research for a hotel in and around Sorrento and found nice hotels to be very expensive if you wanted a pool and/or view. Relais villa savarese has both a pool and if you are lucky like we were you can also get a view! We chose relais villa savarese as it is about 20/25 minute walk to Sorrento (one route to Sorrento takes in a stunning vista of the bay of Naples). We also chose it for its short 10 minute walk to the curcumvesuviana (the train line that takes you around the bay of Naples) as we didn’t hire a car for our stay. The villa is located down a residential street and has an impressive entrance with huge ornate gates. Once you’ve rung the buzzer the gates open up and you enter a tropical oasis. The gardens surrounding the villa are beautiful and once you’ve walked up the drive the villa itself is stunning. If you do choose to hire a car there is a small car park by the gate (as we didn’t hire a car you’d have to check with the hotel regarding any parking charges). The staff at the hotel are so friendly and welcoming and all speak fantastic English, far better than our poor attempt at Italian! I had found out from my research that one of the rooms had a roof top terrace and had asked if it was possible to have that room and to my delight we got it! The terrace had loungers, table and chairs and a view to the sea! Our room was beautifully decorated. I would describe the hotel in general as modern colonial in style, very chic but not ostentatious. There is a lift at the hotel (although small, I fitted in it with a member of staff and our two suitcases, there was no more space but at the end of the day you don’t live in a lift!) as well as a wide staircase that is central to the hotel. We had a double bed, a chaise longue, desk with mini bar, wardrobe, safe, iron, tv, air con etc. Our bathroom had shower, jacuzzi bath, robes, slippers etc. Although it was top floor, the room stayed lovely and cool. Breakfast each morning was typically Italian, with continental breakfast, cereal, yoghurts, fruit, cold cut meat, cheese and cake! The breakfast room was again beautiful, you could either choose to eat in the conservatory or inside the main part of the villa. Tea and coffee to order which was very good quality. Our breakfast was included in the hotel package. The pool at the villa is again beautiful, although not heated you soon warm up in it with a few lengths. I’m not a strong swimmer and was grateful for being able to touch the bottom of the deep end with my toes. There are sun-loungers around the pool with umbrellas. The hotel will lend you beach towels to use around the pool which saves on luggage! The pool was so welcome to use after a long day of sightseeing. We visited in late September/early October and the days were still hot. The hotel offers light lunches and snacks along with drinks. They are charged for but no more expensive than drinks out at a bar (if not cheaper). The staff will give advice on where best to visit and how to get to places. We asked for a couple of restaurant recommendations and they were all great. The hotel itself doesn’t have a restaurant for evening meals, however their sister hotel in Sorrento town centre does. It was our best evening meal and again the staff there were so friendly and engaging. The villa only has about 12 rooms so it makes it a real boutique hotel. It’s quiet and peaceful. We saw mainly couples stay there but there was one family with a young child but it’s so peaceful there with room for everyone, everyone has their own space that you never feel overlooked or have to fight for a sun lounger or breakfast table. Our roof terrace looked out to the sea, where there was a hotel on the seafront that had evening music. It’s a distance away (but only about 3 minute walk) that the music wasn’t loud too be obtrusive, if anything it made for an even better atmosphere. We liked it so much we booked a table at that hotel to listen to the live music, a great sax player! The hotel is listed as 3 star, however relais villa savarese is definitely more 5 star! I can only assume it has that rating for not having a restaurant. After a long day of sightseeing and not wanting to walk far for dinner, one evening we went down the street to a get Napoli take away pizza which we took back to our room to eat on the terrace looking at the stars and listening to free live music! The best pizza ever! For the cost, if you are after a real oasis for your Amalfi stay that won’t break the bank then choose relais villa savarese, you won’t regret it!

Love it, Love it, LOVE IT. Seriously, from the impressive entrance gates you enter paradise. Staff super friendly and helpful, great morning coffee and breakfast, room very comfortable and outside facilities are like a paradise in the tourist mad world outside the gates. Easy to park car inside the locked gates so safe and secure and short stroll to perfect viewing area of the bay and several restaurants close by. Sorrento is a 15 minute walk away. One of those places you remember and want to go back to!!

An absolutely beautiful boutique hotel. From the moment we arrived we were impressed; it's such a beautiful spot and the building and grounds are beautifully maintained. It's in Sant Agnello which is a short walk or bus/taxi/train from the middle of Sorrento, but you'll find plenty of places to eat and drink near the hotel (including an amazing pizza place just down the street, and a terrace bar by the waterfront) so you don't need to be frequently going in and out of the centre. If you are doing tours, we found tour companies will pick up from hotels in Sant Agnello as well. Sant Agnello is also a LOT quieter than Sorrento town centre which we appreciated! The hotel staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. they suggested things for us to do, booked taxis for us, and were always available to chat! Our room was perfect, everything we could ask for, including air conditioning, large TV, a comfortable bed with soft sheets, lovely toiletries and an excellent shower! Despite all the modern touches, the room itself (and the hotel) has a lovely vintage glamour. Perfect for a romantic stay! We didn't use the pool much as we were so busy every day but it's a lovely spot surrounded by lemon trees and there is an outside bar. There's also a cosy library. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of sweet and savoury choices, attentive breakfast staff and perfect cappuccinos. We have nothing to fault about this hotel! If you want a really special holiday, stay here. You will not be disappointed!
