We stayed at Majestic palace in August as it had been recommended by friend and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were amazing, the rooms were spacious and clean and it’s location was perfect. The hotel is a walkable distance from Sorrento and many wonderful restaurants. We can’t wait to return next year.

The only good thing about though this hotel was the room and the cleaner who was thorough. The food was absolutely awful, we were half board and had to eat out every night, the breakfast was okay if you had toast, and tea, there is so much to complain about that I could write a book, I've stayed in many hotels and been on cruises and I've never experienced such a dreadful place, the waiters were only interested in selling you overpriced drinks before your meal, and when you complained about the food, they were extremely aggressive and basically offered you a omelette, wine was 23 pound a bottle which we found in the local supermarket for 4 three euros, there was no kettle in the room either and tea if bought in the hotel was 4 euros per cup, the tablecloths in the restaurant were worn and filthy and seen better days, too much to mention, just would not go back if it was the last place on earth, extremely disappointed in everyway, we spent more on the week we spent there on eating out than we did on our cruise we had the week before, and that's no joke.....

Stayed here previously (6 years ago) so observations are sometimes comparable. All staff are so polite and helpful. Our room 303 (NOT facing the pool) was fantastic with a balcony (sun nearly all day until sunset) and views. Our bathroom needs to be refurbed with stained bath and a poor shower head and its location. Bed a little hard. Food although varied was a little boring. The wines on offer, particularly the local ones, are very good; and cheap.

We booked this holiday on a last minute for 18th to 25th on a whim prepared to take what we were given, but wow this hotel is beautiful. Old world style but kept pristine by an army of cleaners. The rooms are spacious and elegant with lovely balconies. Ours overlooks the beautiful large gardens and orchard so the peace and quiet in such a busy spot is lovely. The staff of which there are always many are wonderful both courteous and helpful. The management went out of their way to accommodate us in a room we liked. Will certainly come back. The Majestic Palace Hotel has a great location enabling easy access to the local amenities, train & bus stations, shops and restaurants. As previously mentioned you can take a leisurely stroll into Sorrento either via the main road Corsa Italia (leave the hotel turn right and walk to the top and turn right again) or follow the coastline and use the more residential route (leave the hotel and turn left, straight down and left again). either walk is pretty flat and you will reach the centre within 25 mins or so. All of the staff we encountered were extremely pleasant and very welcoming. The hotel does have quite a glamourous / luxury vibe especially the communal lounges and sitting areas. Beautiful gardens to the rear of the property and the hotel also benefits from a sun terrace and swimming pool. The hotel was super clean and we found to be a very relaxing place to stay. Previous comments have been made regarding the bathrooms, blimey do some people moan! Yes they are a little dated, however they are big and function perfectly well and they are also kept spotlessly clean. The look and style are Italian - shouldn't be any surprises their? this hotel is not part of a big corporate chain that has a major refurb every year. Those hotels lack charm and atmosphere in my opinion so embrace the Italian flair is this not why you have visited Italy? The hotel breakfasts were perfectly fine offering a good choice of hot and cold food. It seems everybody likes bacon cooked a certain way - blimey 'get over' yourself, honestly the people we saw at the hotel certainly were not going to starve. Some people it seems were not happy with the menu or the size of the portions, during breakfast we did ask to look at the menu for that evening so we could decide whether to dine in or out. Sometimes i would choose two starters and have one served for my main course, it is not rocket science - just speak to the waiting staff and on that comment we would like to say a big thank you to all of the restaurant staff we encountered as the service was fantastic. For those of you who it seems are hard to please, splash the cash and stay some where else or dine out. Most definitely happy to recommend this hotel we had a great stay.
