The five stars are mostly based on the Neilson team at the chalet, who deliver exellent customer service, anything you ask for is delivered swiftly. The hotel has the feel of a private club as it is just for Neilson guests, it is cosy and welcoming. We felt the sofa area could be expanded to enable more guests to sit on comfy seats rather than the wooden bar seats, although that is just a personal preference. Although this is chalet board, with 6 meals provided and wine with the meals, we were pleasantly surprised to get a full cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and bar service every day. The meals were good and an imaginative vegetarian option was provided every day. The ability to have a very good massage after skiing at a reasonable price was a real perk, the jacuzzi and sauna were good and a nice touch was the lovely Temple spa samples to try. We were extremely lucky with the snow and this enabled us to ski in and out after the first day. We will return.

The Chalet Hotel has many plus points but we were a little disappointed by a couple of things. I'll start with the good bits. Location - close to the lift which you can ski down to if you are of a reasonable standard. Skiing back into the hotel could be a little daunting for beginners too. Its located just out of town but the walk doesn't take long although its uphill. Lots of places to eat and drink in town. The hotel bar/ lounge area is nice for afternoon tea and drinks after dinner. The food is reasonable but could do with a bit more variation. Spa area is a nice perk! The resort as a whole is a great area for skiing and I would go back. The negatives. Room 207. We had booked an economy double room so expected a double bed but we arrived to a twin room and were told all doubles in the hotel are twins pushed together. Our bed had a large wooden frame around it so the beds didnt touch. I know other rooms had beds that were able to be pushed together so I didnt think this was a very good solution from the staff. The second and bigger issue is the noise from the bar. Room 207 backs onto the wall with the bar. You'll hear everything! We couldn't go back to our room during the afternoon tea break to relax as it was so noisy. Then in the evenings after dinner we could hear every conversation or drink or coffee being made which kept us up much later than we had wanted. These 2 issues could have easily been avoided and without them we would have had a great holiday.

Excellent run Chalet at Edelweiss, extremely friendly Neilson staff and owner, They can not do enough for you to make your staff comfortable and easy. Food is lovely and there is plenty of choice. Breakfast hot and cold choice with juice, teas and coffee. Amazing cakes and biscuits at 4.30PM and 3 course diner which is something different every day. The spa facilities are immaculate and based on booking 30 min slots which works very well with a maximum of 4 people, very much needed. Had a lovely 50 minute body massage with Marni, well worth it. Lounge area with log fire and plenty of seats. Room slightly small but this did not matter as we spent so little time in there, beds are made up everyday. Nice big shower .Good size boot room. The location is a small walk down hill to the Jouvenceaux chair lift or if there is enough snow you can ski this. The town is a uphill walk which we did twice to a old town with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose for your meal out . The chalet will organise a lift into town on request if you don't fancy the walk with Bruno who is a real star with helping the guests . Good ski area and we went to France on ski day, which was worth it too. I would recommend and definitely go back. Missing Chalet Edelweiss and Sauze Doulx already.

This chalet hotel is run by neilsen and they do a fantastic job. The chalet is fab I recommend the piste view club rooms. The food was fantastic and having the bar is a godsend. The owner Bruno is so helpful and will shuttle bus you up and back to the town. Will definitely stay here again. Well done Neilsen

This hotel is a little gem, located about 50m away from the Jouvenceaux chair lift. Although you can read the tag lines for the facilities, this doesn't highlight the best asset........the Staff. The Neilson staff were brilliant and really made the trip for us. From advice on where to go, helping us book restaurants and taxis, to helping us if anything went wrong. Equipment hire was from the local store (5 mins walk away if that) and they delivered to the hotel. They even serviced my own equipment and brought it back overnight for me to use the next day. The spa facilities were great, with a Jacuzzi and Sauna available for guests. The food menu is varied and very well put together and any dietary requirements were fulfilled to the same high standard as the main meals. Everything was highlighted for allergies, another nice little point. Town is a 15 minute walk up the hill but the hotel owner puts on a free shuttle service at various points on a night. The rooms are comfortable and the en suite facilities were very clean and worked well. Hot water available all the time! One of the best winter holidays I've been on!
