We are a couple, that loves Italy and finding cozy and luxury hotels in this wonderful country. Hotel Antico Borgo, can be chosen because of the hotel standard and friendly and service-minded staff. And the room service is outstanding. We asked for a bottle of "bubbles" and they served the bottle and delicious tapas for two persons. The staff kindly answered our questions about tourist targets around The Lake Garda. Thank you for a memorable stay. We booked the hotel by Hideaways services.

Just stayed at the Antico Borgo Hotel in Riva del Garda for a week on a Riviera holiday. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Given 4 stars only because evening meal is small portions as mentioned by other reviews, although having said that, there are 4 courses and it is sufficient. Would definitely be my hotel of choice if I went back to Riva.

The hotel is down a busy cobbled street in the town centre you can not access it directly from the road. Our bus dropped us off at the near by ferry port, where we were greeted by hotel receptionist they took our luggage and guided us on foot to the hotel We had to wait for our room to be ready which was abit annoying as we had already been delayed at the airport waiting for a second flight to arrive. Room We had a street facing twin room with no balcony. We didnt feel a balcony was necessary as we spend alot of time out and about sightseeing. If you have the windows open it is very noisey from the street below but there are shutters and good double glazed windows to filter the noise. I’m glad I didnt book a balcony as they look out onto a dirty back street and overlooked by the stairwell. If you want a quiet spot use the small but adequate roof terrace. Room was clean and modern looking. 2 beds, safe (free to use) fridge, tv, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning and hairdryer. There isn’t alot of storage space for clothes. Food/Restaurant On the first night you are shown to a table that is your table for the length of your stay. Starter is salad and buffet food There is 4 courses all together -pasta, main and desserts are table service that you choose at breakfast time. One of the evening meals neither of us could find anything to eat for our main course, the head waiter agreed that we could have an omelette with the vegetables served, although an odd combination it was nice to even be given that option. The portions are small and even with for course still not really enough. The food does taste nice and good quality just need at least double The atmosphere in the restaurant is rather unpleasant with white padded walls bright lighting and people eating in silence. The waiters in their tuxedos watching over you do not make you feel at ease Breakfast is all buffet with cereal, toast, cooked, fruit and pastries to choose from all you can eat style Tea, coffee and juices are included at breakfast. If you have an early pick up for the return flight home be sure to ask about getting an early breakfast. Breakfast usually starts at 7:30am but when we departed we were picked up at that time so they allowed us to eat at 6:30am they then took our cases to the ferry port at 7 am. Riva itself is a bit boring especially in the evening when the only thing to do is eat and visit one of the local bars/cafe The cable cars up mount Baldo in Malcesine is a MUST there will be a long queue but the view at the top is breath-taking. Make sure you go as part of your visit to the lake.

We wanted to stay in the old part of Riva del Garda on a recent holiday with Riviera Travel so we chose the Antico Borgo. It is a lovely, small hotel on the cobbled back streets of Riva. Our room was very basic but had everything we needed (except for a kettle for an early morning cuppa). The shower was small and extra shelving is needed in the bathroom. However there is a fridge (not freezer) and a safe. There is adequate choices for breakfast and you can make your own tea. The yoghurt is lovely. In the evening is a four course meal with four options which you choose during breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We tried to upgrade to a balcony but the hotel was full, however we were quite glad that we didn't as they really only overlook a small side street. They do have a roof terrace where you can lie on a sunbed or sit at a table and look over the town. All in all, I would stay there again and the location is very central.

We arrived at the ferry terminal drop off point after 10pm after what seemed a long transfer. The hotel is very modern and light with both pale wood and soft furnishings in the reception. Check-in was brisk and efficient. The layout of the floors and rooms is a tad odd as the building sprawls backwards from it's relatively small street frontage. We had neighbours on either side but the sound proofing is good. The rooms are minimalistic but to a good standard (particularly the beds) although 8 coat hangers for two adults for a week is a little too minimalistic. However there is plenty of shelving. The bathroom is up to the usual good Italian standards with an efficient shower, wash basin and bidet. It could do with a larger shelf for toiletries. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and thought that the breakfasts were very good, with scrambled eggs and alternating sausage or bacon. We were offered a variety of breads, pastries, fruits, cereals, cheeses, and yogurts. The waiter served pots of coffee were very good as was the chance to make your own pot of tea should that be your preference. For me the sun terrace located at the rear of the hotel was a godsend. With both shady and sunny areas, tables, chairs, sofas and sun beds. It had spectacular views over the roof tops and of the surrounding foothills. I would happily recommend this hotel to any adults but would not for younger children. It central placing is good but the rear facing rooms can be noisy as they are used by delivery and collection vehicles with some starting around 6am. Also be ready for the ringing of the bell tower at 7am, at least you don't need an alarm clock! Overall a very good hotel that is well located.

This hotel is brilliant, it is spotlessly clean and the staff were very good. They attended to all my needs and even bought cocktails up to the roof. The room was a lovely size, well maintained and very quiet. The air conditioning cooled the room down so sleeping was easy. The roof top had lovely views of the lake and was a suntrap with sun loungers to relax on. I stayed bed and breakfast and I was well looked after. Even though I had a gluten intolerance they had a plate ready for myself each morning with bread, biscuits and cake. When leaving this morning our luggage was taken to the coach for us to save us moving it. I was going to return to Lake Garda and stay at the south but have changed my mind and will definitely come here again and travel to see the sights.

Just love this hotel, all staff friendly and helpful. Our room got very hot and the air conditioning was not effective (we did persevere with it and enquired whether it was actually working) but we worked around it by keeping curtains closed and sun out during the day and opened the balcony doors wide when we returned each evening. Location of the hotel is great, in the old town so close to everything. Lovely rooftop terrace too. It would have been nicer to have more English language TV channels other than only BBC News. So now that we're back home I'm already looking at returning to Hotel Antico Borgo next year for a fouth visit.

What a fantastic gem of a hotel to stay in. Right in the middle of the old town, stepping out into the pedestrianised street. Great restaurants and shops close by. The staff were great, helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was delicious, abundant and fresh. The evening meal was a delight, and the deserts, wonderful. The room was fine, and even though there was nightlife happening nearby, it was very quiet . Some of the rooms have private balconies with sun loungers or tables and chairs. The roof terrace was nice with great views over the town to the Lake and also of the mountains nearby. We did not have any downsides to our stay at this welcoming hotel. We will stay here again

Room was a very good size but an extremely small window left us feeling 'hemmed in'. In retrospect we would have booked a room with a balcony The hotel staff were very helpful and did offer us another room but it was smaller so we decided to stay where we were - We were out so much it wasn't a high priority. Right in the middle of the old town so everything - bars, restaurants, gelateria right there. The pedestrian only streets are hilly and cobbled. A short walk to the water front Food was adequate (breakfast and evening meal) Wine prices were high The hotel was very clean and would possibly return to it on a B&B basis
