Welcome to Villa Miravalle, My name is Michele Marchi Vidi, and I am the owner of the Hotel Villa Miravalle. It is with great pleasure that I recount the centuries-old tradition of this hotel, which for four generations has been managed by my family, having been created in the early 1900s by my great-grandparents. Time has not eroded the antique fascination of the late nineteenth-century villa nor the enchanting beauty of the gardens, with their centuries-old palms and olive trees, or the elegant comfort of the spacious terrace dotted with citrus trees and climbing plants in a variety of hues. The imposing building nestles undisturbed among the ancient medieval walls which surround the historic centre of Riva del Garda, giving splendid views of the placid waters of the lake, known in ancient times as Lake Benaco. A similar spell is cast by the works of Aldo Raimondi, a distinguished painter who was a regular visitor to the Villa during the 1940s. His works are displayed in the Hall of the Hotel, and document many of the aspects of life in the Villa, and offer glimpses of the building from different perspectives. The long history of the Villa goes hand in hand with another splendid moment: the opening of the Villetta Annessa restaurant, which was modelled on the famous "Girarrosto" restaurant which in the 1960s was awarded a Michelin star. The recent renovation of the Villa underlines a passion that has never abated and a strong desire to create an atmosphere of serenity in which guests can enjoy the familiar smells of meat grilling in the enormous fireplace and the delicate scents of the flowers wafting in from the gardens. The Hotel is close to a number of sporting facilities in the Basso Sarca valley for the delight of cyclists, climbers and other sporting enthusiasts. The Villa has its own vital energy, and its long history and unique atmosphere are jealously guarded as if in a casket, which we will be delighted to open for our guests so that they can add their own memories. I hope to see you soon! Michele

Hotel has a very good location, near old town restaurants, but far from noisy streets The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are not so spacious, but adequate and clean. Wifi and AC are very good and the pool area is great. You can order drinks from the bar to the pool area. Overall, this hotel is a great value for money.

My daughter and I chose this hotel because it was small, in a great location and has lovely common areas. Ana was wonderful, helping me via email before our trip with all my questions. We were on an active vacation, mountain biking, climbing, hiking and via ferratas. The location of the hotel is literally across the street from the start of one of the best via ferratas in Riva del Garda and the bike shops are easy walking distance. After morning adventures, the pool was a perfect place to relax and regroup. We had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel one evening which was delicious ( I will cover in a different review ). The hotel is right on the edge of old town which meant it was easy walking to the waterfront, shops and restaurants, but removed enough that it was peaceful and quiet. I had booked a regular room, but upon communicating with Ana before hand, chose to upgrade to having a room with a view of the lake. Breakfast in the morning had everything you could want. Meats and cheeses, eggs, bacon, delicious pastries, fresh fruit and more. There were seven different loose leaf teas available to try as well. We were on the top floor, a nice, clean room with a desk, armoire for our clothes and a comfortable Queen bed. In the evening before we went into old town for dinner we would have an aperitif either on the comfy couches in the lounge area or at one of the outside table on the terrace surround by fruit trees and lush gardens.

We had stayed at Hotel Villa Miravalle in 2012 whilst touring the lake , staying at three other hotels . Not returning to here was not really an option as the hotel is wonderful, the food excellent and the views a delight to wake up too . Our dinner on the first night was just as we remembered, first class service with a homely ambiance, homely ,as in the chef wanting his food to be thoroughly enjoyed and be wowed by, as you would if cooking for friends at home . Riva centre is a few steps away so access to the whole lake is easy by ferry , bus or bike . We caught the ferry to Limone , takes about 45 mins , cost 10 euros return each but the Lake is there to explore easily. Room 206 was fantastic, with a large terrace which we enjoyed all times of the day for the four nights we were there . If you can book directly with the hotel for the same price as booking.com then do so as hotel will charge 15 euros a night for parking your car , book direct then it's free. Lastly , the breakfasts are wonderful and try their fruit teas you won't regret it !!!

This hotel is very charming and lovely. It is family run and the caring attention to detail shows. The rooms were quiet and lovely. The views of the lake are wonderful. The bar was excellent and the dinner at the restaurant - Villetta Annessa was absolutely spectacular. Excellent grilled beef and exquisite dinner. The hotel has recently been renovated, so rooms updated and beds comfortable. It is just off the main square so quiet. We felt so wonderful the entire trip and hope to be back, as it was a great experience.
