The hotel is beautiful- far from the standard, sterile offerings of the all-inclusive. Breakfast was amazing and the little sparrows trying to eat crumbs provided entertainment. The room (Superior Twin) was spacious with double-height ceilings and huge windows offering us one of the best views I’ve ever experienced from a hotel room. The spa was great, with a bath-temperature indoor pool that had various buttons dotted around the outside, with which you could trigger jets or bubbles. My husband loved the sauna which had ice and a cold shower for when you’re done. We arrived mid heat wave (unexpected) and the temperature stayed just below 30°C throughout our week. After not sleeping well the first night due to the temperature not dropping much, we approached reception and asked if we could have the air-conditioning on. We received an unapologetic ‘no’ from the staff member we spoke with. I explained I have disabilities and that being able to sleep properly was the difference between a good holiday and a bad holiday- adding that I wouldn’t have booked a hotel which didn’t have air conditioning. This made no difference, despite the staff member admitting it was unseasonably hot. We had to leave our windows open all stay and that meant street noise and light repeatedly disturbed us. Despite the hotel being virtually immaculate we had to strip our bed in order for the sheets to be changed mid-stay, we also didn’t have any of the little toiletries replaced so had to approach reception to ask. That all being said it’s one of the best hotel we’ve stayed in- in the heart of Riva.…
Highly recommended hotel, located close to the center of Riva del Garda and 5 minutes walking distance from the lake. The pool and the terrace ilare very nice, the staff friendly and the breakfast super tasty.
The Grand dame of Lake Garda. Buit in 1910 , Liberty Style. 5 mins from the lake. Bus stop outside the hotel to Arco and Torbole. Beautifully furnished with antique furniture and decor, huge chandeliers, marble stairs with art nouveau wrought iron . Lots of art on the walls. The staff are friendly and very helpful who do there best to make your stay comfortable. Fabulous indoor swimming pool with comfy seating . We booked dinner, b&b. The food is outstanding. We had a superior room which was large with a comfortable bed good sized bathroom with a walk in shower. The hotel was very clean everywhere. Some people on tours were disappointed with small, but very nice, rooms , It seems to be the luck of the draw regarding tour groups that book standard rooms.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room spacious and clean and bright. Food excellent. Great location near all amenities. Family run hotel and would recommend it to all visitors. Great value for money. Dining room staff very attentive and obliging.
An excellent hotel with top class service. Just home after seven wonderful days staying in this lovely hotel. Food is amazing and the staff were very attentive and friendly especially Shalju,Antonio and Maurizio. They made our stay very enjoyable. A credit to the hotel. We went with the travel department and will definitely return. Top class all the way.
What a place! Couldn’t have wished for a nicer return to Riva after nearly 15 years has passed. This hotel is a grand dame, where the staff were fantastically cheerful and helpful with whatever you asked, and the facilities in the rooms were just great. Beds super comfortable, and the fantastic breakfast really set us up for the day. By the time we left it almost felt like a home from home, and we were sad to leave. But we will definitely return. Indoor pool and spa was top notch, and free parking was a real boon.
Lovely hotel in great location but food poisoning ruined it for us. Out of a tour group of 22, nine as of now have suffered food poisoning. Severe explosive diarrhoea plus days of vommiting. Not how we planned the trip. The tour rep was told by the hotel that everything in their kitchen was fine so we must all be imagining it. Some of those not sick have been eating elsewhere since.
Amazing building, outside it looks old and historic. The rooms are modern and nice. A little smal but, but to sleep and shower more than perfect! Also the staff is really friendly, there restaurant is SUPER!
The rooms are surprisingly dated and not very nice. What's worse, we were placed next to a couple with a barking dog in an almost empty hotel. When we asked to move after half an hour maybe, we were told off by the manager, as "we had used two rooms, which is expensive for the hotel". As a punishment, we were put in a room that absolutely stank of smoke. Unbelievably rude of the staff! Also, although we're Finns and used to going to the sauna naked with our families, I felt very uncomfortable in the spa as guests would sit around naked in the sauna although it was forbidden. What a weird experience altogether!
While the rooms are modern and comfortable, the main areas are definitely outdated and give a kind of sad atmosphere to the place, so is the fitness room... Very decent breakfast. Well located, 2mn from the lake and the old Riva del Garda quarter.
