If you read this review please make sure you read it all as it gets better. :-) We arrived with mixed expectations due to the poor reviews on here but optimistic based on our, thus far, great experience of Club Med holidays. We even have friends who’d managed our expectations who had visited some years ago. On arrival it took forever to get through the gates but when we did we were welcomed and taken to our room by golf cart. We knew the rooms were tired but had not quite expected what we found, they were clean but very very tired. Our room, oddly given that I’m 185cm tall and my wife 180, was a disabled ready room which meant the bathroom sink only just came up to my knees and there was a shower with a curtain, I struggled to shower in it so I have no idea how a disabled person would be able to manage. Also, which is very odd, our disabled room was the last one in the row and about as far from the pool, restaurant and other activities as you could possibly get. When we arrived we noticed a dangerously sharp broken tile around the base of the shower and next to the, disabled, toilet which we reported to reception to ask for something to be done as we had children. After 24 hours nothing had been done so we went back to reception and were told it was added again but this time as a priority. Within the following day at the pool the maintenance team had done a very good job of repairing the broken tile. The restaurant in the village is not the best, there is no A/C and in the middle of summer this is close to unbearable, there are some outside tables but they are quickly taken. Staying in the village but eating and drinking in the hotel restaurant is the way forward but insist on a non disabled room, unless of course you are disabled, in which case go somewhere else as this is really not disabled friendly with uneven stone paths across the whole village. There are also no plug sockets in the bedroom at all and only 2 in the living space/ kids sleeping area. For the restaurants don’t bother with anything other than the hotel, here you’ll find food to the quality you expect from Club Med and it’s quieter and air conditioned, so bearable, unlike the main restaurant. Also for breakfast the hotel is better and stays open until 10 rather than 9:45. For lunch the options are limited to the fish restaurant or the main restaurant. The surrounding area, outside of the holiday village, are not pretty as such and it’s a long drive to anywhere worth visiting, we had a car so managed two day trips which were nice but at least a 40 minute drive on pretty poor roads. Ragusa is an amazing historic town which is well worth a visit and the closest place to drive to, not a huge amount to do but beautiful. Agrigento is further away, nearly 2 hours by car, but has an amazing museum and the valley of the gods, all is free on a Sunday, but be prepared to be exposed to the sun for a long time and if it’s too hot probably give it a miss. All in all we had an amazing 10 days of sailing, canoeing, playing mini golf, relaxing, eating great food and spending quality time as a family. We probably won’t go back, at least not until the rooms have been refurbished and the main restaurant blessed with air conditioning, but we have great memories of a wonderful holiday. Special thanks to the amazing team running the resort, bars, restaurants and the activities. I’d never done archery before but the dedicated team of two showed me the basics and I even won the daily archery competition by our last day, it’s 3:30pm everyday and always good fun. Also the team at the sailing who were always willing to help and great fun. The chef du village was everywhere and by the end of our holiday I was starting to think she must be a twin with them both working to be able to be in so many places and working such long hours. Oh, one last tip which we only discovered on the last day, if you are up in time it’s well worth getting one of the 10 or so seating spots on the layered terrace overlooking the pool, out of the way, quite and shaded (if you want it).

I guess that going 4 years running would suggest that we quite like this place :) Every year we say we'll try a new Club Med and every year we end up saying we had such a great time last time we'll go back to Kamarina again! As I've said in a previous review and many others have said the village rooms are tired, but we've always found them spotlessly clean, thanks to the amazing cleaners, and the beds so comfy, although the days and nights exertions might help there (13 years of crazy signs and still cannot get it quite right, but cannot resist and enjoy trying) We did wonder what the new CDV would be like after having 3 years of Nathalie, but we needn't have worried, Camille the new CDV bought her own personality and along with her team made another great fun week with the special atmosphere that is club med. Yes it is a French Company and therefore predominantly French people go! That is precisely why we go and love it! I speak only schoolboy French, but a smile is international and will take you far! Lunch at the Cavello as special as always, food, views and staff all great, dinner at hotel restaurant more refined but just as enjoyable, big thanks to all kitchen and wait staff for the great food and atmosphere you create. Bar staff! Thank you! You do an amazing job. Sail team, great as usual helpful and friendly, thank you. Finally, big thanks to Camille and all her team, and especially all those that to do that little bit extra, for making another special week in the unique atmosphere of fun that is Club Med and Kamarina. Thanks again everyone for a wonderful week and making precious memories. Look forward to see you for our 5th year!

It was my first Clubmed and it feels like I'm in love with all the Club now! But I was there with my friends who are Gold clients and they have different opinion.. GOOD. If you are not a refined tourist, you will be satisfied with Clubmed Kamarina. You will be impressed with the comfort of the beach, the purity of the sea, the variety of different sports and activities, the kindness of locals. BAD. If you are a Gold client you will be disappointed. You will be surprised with the way activities goes on. In other Clubmeds you used to have great parties all the evenings. Here? No. There was an evening without any party at all. There were evenings in Cavallo Marina with boring music and very few people. To our big surprise, nobody cared about it. The chef of village was somewhere out and even GOs didn't try to make boring parties better. FOOD. In the point of first Clubmed – food was great. In the point of Gold – not a big variety. If you want to have a good dinner – you should go to hotel's restaurant. Others are not so beautiful, it's always hot there, the way food is setting differs. PARTIES. The best party of the week is beach one. And almost all people follow the dress code (total white) in this day. Sadly other days some people ignore dress code of the day. The worst ones are in Cavallo Marina. Because of the reason I mentioned before. The program of the week doesn't change a lot from week to week. We were there for 12 days. And after one week we were not happy to see the same show we saw a week ago. CREDITS. - Almost all barmen in kamarina are good. It was clear that Max (the main bar) is a professional. The way he do the cocktails is a sort of art. - Barmen in the main bar are always in a good mood. They make people smiling. Thanks - Sailing team. Especially Miroslav and Victor. Very kind and open people. - Diving center. Matteo Seduttore and Fahd Dajani were with us for the whole time we were in the Club. They helped us a lot. - Mini club. We saw lots of kid events. And we saw Alessio Palazzolo spending time with children all day long! Kids really love him and he loves kids. It's amazing! - Back GOs. Francesco Biroli and Paolo did lot's of job. And considering this fact they still had time and power to be kind to guests and help them. They made our last evening in Club. - Dario Giovine and Guillaume Remaud are GOs with constant smile on his face. It was a pleasure to see them and talk to them TOTAL IMPRESSION. I know people who's Clubmed Kamarina was first one to them. And they were disappointed. But it's my first Clubmed either. And no matter what I really liked it! Lots of things depends on how you spend your personal time been there. I really enjoyed mine.

I have a very strange impression from this club med. There is a good sandy beach, the warm sea on one side and medium-quality food, fighting for the tables in the restaurant and almost total ignorance from the chef of the village on the other side. On the gold party we drank usual prosecco and had snacks that you could easily eat in the restaurant as well. By the way the only good restaurant is in the hotel and it is solely because of the chef. We weren’t helped to carry our suitcases even when we offered money, even though we lived on the second floor and there wasn’t a man among us. We had to go to the airport by bus even though we, as gold clients, should have a personal transfer. Moreover, no one came to say good bye, which should happen and DID in the previous club meds we have been to. The late check out is only at 2 pm and at first we were asked to pay for this, even though we do not have to as we are gold clients; so we had to prove them they are wrong and wasted our time. To sum up, do not wait for special treatment which you feel the moment you enter other club meds. No one cares about you there really. If it had been my first club med instead of the eighth one, I would have never visited again. Other tourists that have been visiting it for the first time told us the same thing.

We had a great half term week here in may break and both adults and kids (11 and 13) had a great time. Staff were very friendly and the more you talk to them the better your experience. Shows in the eve were great especially the circus show and the comedy night. Had my kids both enthrallled and laughing hysterically despite the language barrier. The foam party and neon night were also original and fun family events. Food was great though as a vegetarian in a country not used to veggies I found the range limited but the staff were very accommodating to requests and the food standards were as high as we have come to expect from Club med.The tennis lessons, sailing lessons, circus trapeze instruction (amazing team!!) and archery were all very good and all the family learnt lots. Can't comment on kids clubs as ours don't go. Transfer from Catalina was a bit long but understand Comiso closer and was smooth enough with all flights and transfers this week included us being met at airport arrivals and shown to our taxi. Accommodation is clean but basic and we spent so little time in ours it was perfect for our needs and our housekeeper was always friendly polite and accommodating for extra towels and water etc We would definately revisit this resort 😁
