As a solo traveller it was just right. Safe, clean, simple, cool...love terrazzo floors and my quiet room was a haven. The hotel is close to delecious Trattorias, bars and take away food. The train station is also close and there is also a bus just outside the old gate that takes you to Stazione Leopolda stop in Florence that is where all the big hotels are a shorter walk from Santa Maria Novella. It was handy for me to have that bus because I could visit a friend in Florence for dinner and come back and walk to the hotel. The staff are all great so helpful and sweet.

A short walk, less than a kilometer from the Prato Porta Seraglio Rail, station, and well situated for exploring the city. We took two days out to explore Florence too which is only 25 mins away by train. Our double room was comfortable and there was everything we needed. The staff, we only saw Mein Host and His Wife, were very helpful albeit it with limited English. Excellent breakfast was included.

Spent 5 days at this hotel. The location does lend itself to some noise from the streets below, especially if you’re on the first floor and facing certain directions. However, the hotel is quite clean, comfortable and its owners/management are pleasant, very courteous and helpful though they don’t speak much English so be prepared for that if you don’t speak Italian. The hotel only serves breakfast which is fairly simple and typically Italian - bread, salami, mortadella, cheeses, pastries - that sort of thing. Quite adequate. A number of restaurants are close by including an excellent cafe just around the corner. WiFi is available but somewhat erratic. Overall, good value and I would stay here again.
