Absolutely stunning hotel! We read all reviews before visiting hotel on here and other websites. Reviews were not the best ones as people complained about steps, staff, hotel interior and so on.We arrived on a rainy day. When we walked in the first thought was that we are at the wrong hotel. It looked so posh and elegant! Especially after reading all those negative reviews. To the people who complained about the steps. You were visiting Amalfi coast, what did you expect? We found another two entrances, and I believe there is more. One with even more steps but it takes you stright to the parking near the tunel and other obe with about 10 steps near the church where all the locals are gathering together in evenings. Just round the church and there is a nice path which will take you to Bellavista. People complained about interior. What a beautiful hotel it is!Hotel is beautifully designed with orchids on every table, beautiful italian tiles on the floor and of course those stunning tables on terace. We visited local Ceramic shop which is located about 1 km towards Amalfi from Bellavista. We spoke wirh the owners and learned very interesting facts about ceramic business and history of their family. Also that these tables are made from the ash of Vesuvius and cost thousands. I wish I could bring one for my garden. Staff is very lovely and friendly. They do speak German and Italian as you would expect as they are German/Italian family. It is their family business so they have put all their heart in this hotel. Every single member of their family is doing something in this hotel, either it is cooking or cleaning, serving and you will see them working from early morning until late night, and still they will find the time to have a nice chat with you. Overall we had a fantastic time at Bellavista, every time we were coming back to hotel it felt like coming home. Food was amazing, homemade vine was beautiful, the views were breathtaking and Praiano itself was the friendliest village I ever been to. So all those complaints are from people who complain always and about everything.Rooms are specious very clean. We had that room with small terrace Some people complained it is tiny and you can barely fit in there. What a nonsense We both are very tall people and we both had enough space to sit and chill and enjoy the stunning view from our room. We will miss Bellavista and I will miss beautiful Bella.Top star hotel 👍❤️ Ciao!

Great buffet breakfast, family-run with lots of local tips. The view from the whole hotel but especially the restaurant/terrace is brilliant and truly world class; it pushed this review from a three to a four. We had a couple of issues with our room; the window didn't close properly and so rattled through the night. Our first day we didn't have a shower curtain and our bathroom flooded, although one was installed by the time we came back the next day in the evening. Basically we went on the cusp of on & off season and it felt like the hotel was getting ready for the season, renovating and repairing, but wasn't quite ready for us. This isn't the hotel for you if you're looking for luxury, but the views and location are great (Praiano is sort of split in two, linked by a bus or a 40-50 minute walk so check this is the half you want to stay in). We'd go back, but probably only in season when things would be fully up and running.

We booked our room via the internet before starting our roadtrip to Italy from Greece. When we arrived to Praiano, we parked the car and walk down numerous stairs to finally reach the hotel. Went to reception, they gave us our keys and showed us a semi-basement room. We thought that it is not quite what we expected but it was ok for a 2-nights sleep. So we dressed up and went out for a nice dinner and a relaxing drink. When we came back to the hotel around 1.00am WE REALISED THE MAIN ENTRANCE WAS LOCKED. We tried all the keys we had but none of them could open the main entrance WHICH WAS LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE WITH A CHAIN. Without panicking we called the reception desk and any number from the hotel trying to find someone to open the entrance for us. It took us half an hour of phone calls to realise that we were >>>>>LOCKED OUT OF THE HOTEL AND OUR ROOM!!!!! <<<< and no one from the hotel staff was on site!!!!! We only had the necessary things on us, mobile phones/money as we were just going out for a dinner. After an hour we start to panic as we realise that we have nowhere to spend the night (even our car keys and our daily pills, most of our money and our phone chargers where all in the room)!!! We went back to main square trying to find someone to help us and they told us to contact the local police (mind that most Italians don't speak English) . After an hour on the phone with the police and the touristic police, already 3.00am they told us that the police can not come as it is based in Positano and they can't send a police car at 3,00am at Praiano. They consult us to go to another hotel and stay the night as it will be easier to solve everything in the morning. We did us told , without anything on us, wearing the same clothes, quite stressed and tired after all this mess. Thank god for the people working at the other hotel who hosted us for the night offered us water and some food in the morning. We waited for our hotel to open and we went there early in the morning only to find THE OWNER SHOUTING AT US AND INSULTING US, telling us that we had no right calling the police, SHE NEVER SAID THAT SHE WAS SORRY FOR ALL THE TROUBLE SHE CAUSED US AND SHE WAS DEMANDING THAT WE LEAVE THE HOTEL IMMEDIATELY! We were shocked!!!!!! We went back to the room to pack our stuff and finally have a shower and of course leave this place immediately and the owner STORMED IN OUR ROOM WITHOUT KNOCKING SHOUTING TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY, NO SHOWERS NOT NOTHING. Of course at that point we were so freaked out that we started yelling at each other telling her about our privacy and how is it EVEL LEGAL TO LOCK PEOPLE ON HER HOTEL DURING THE NIGHT WITHOUT EVEN A NOTICE OR WITHOUT EVEN BEEN INFORMED WHEN CHECKING IN? WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THERE WAS A MEDICAL EMERGENCY OR A FIRE??? ALL TENANTS WOULD BE LOCKED IN AND NO HOTEL STAFF WOULD BE THERE??? When we refuse to pay for that night as we haven't spend it there as SHE LOCKED US OUT WITHOUT ANY PRIOR UPDATE and we had to pay of course the other hotel that hosted us (double price from this one by the way!!!) she REFUSED TO RETURN US OUR IDENTITY CARDS AND IT WAS ONLY WHEN WE CALLED THE POLICE AGAIN THAT SHE LET US GO! We are really sorry to write all these down, but it was by far our worst experience ever and we wouldn't want anyone to have a night like ours. I hope that the police has took all the necessary legal measures to make sure that this woman is not locking in her tenants anymore. UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR FROM THE OWNER. NEVER AGAIN.

The hotel was very welcoming and spotlessly clean. It had a nice atmosphere and stunning outlook over the sea. Be prepared for steps. We enjoyed the peace of the location and the life in the local area.

What an amazing little hotel in the village of Praiano. We were made feel so welcome from arrival to departure. The hotel is run by two lovely ladies nothing was to much effort. The hotel has amazing views of the sea and the mountains of Positanno. What an amazing view to start your day with. There are quite a few steps to the hotel but worth the effort. The hotel is in a small village with a bar and a number of restaurants great for chilling out or local to get to the other villages. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples or groups of friends. March was the perfect time to visit.
