On the first night I arrived at La Perla, I asked for them to book me a taxi to take me to the airport in 3 nights time as I had a flight to Greece at 10am. I asked them to book the taxi for 6:30am sharp. The day before the flight, I asked them again if they could CONFIRM the taxi was booked. I was told "yes it has been confirmed" - but they did NOT bother to call the taxi company to DOUBLE CHECK this. They just assumed the original booking was enough confirmation. On the morning of my flight, no taxi had arrived by 7am. I frantically went to the front desk of La Perla but NO ONE was there. I kept buzzing the door to get anyone from reception to come down and finally a male came and I explained that the taxi had still not arrived. They had to find me a new taxi on short notice, which took them about 30 minutes to organise, and it arrived at 7:30am. As a result, I arrived at Naples airport at 9:45am, by which time the check in had closed and I missed my flight to Greece!!! I had to pay $400 EURO for a new flight. I called La Perla to explain this and they said "it is not our fault, it is the fault of the taxi company". No sympathy whatsoever. Only interested in money. Very disappointed in La Perla Hotel management. I trusted you to book my taxi. It is your job to double and triple check. I asked you to double check the day before and you did not! It was your fault I missed my flight and paid an extra $400 euro. I would not rely on La Perla to reliably book things for you.…
We have stayed here twice. Now as it’s a friendly lovely hotel with a great view / location for exploring Amalfi coast. We had a sea view room this time after having a side view room Before and I would recommend spending just a bit more for the sea view. The rooms are a little larger and you get to enjoy a balcony and fab views every minute of the day. Breakfast is typical Italian continental with supply of coffee. Tea. Cereal. Fruits and cakes/croissants. There was a fridge in the sea view room which was ideal to store water and wine. Close to A local mini market shop and wine merchants and a short walk into main village of Praiano. Opposite steps to the beach and close to other bars and restaurants. Great place to stay when traveling around Amalfi. If you get to Positano you can get a water taxi direct to the beach just below the hotel …
Staying at this hotel was not on our itinerary when we planned our trip to the Amalfi Coast. Upon missing the bus back to our accommodation, we stumbled upon this hotel near the shop where we bought our bus tickets . After explaining our situation to Roberta at the front desk, thank God that she was able to find us an available room for the night. She was extremely helpful, patient and understanding. We were assigned a double room with sea view and the view was ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING! Since we hadn't travelled with any necessities, the hotel's proximity to a local shop was truly appreciated. In the morning, we were greeted with a delicious breakfast buffet in the lobby area, which we had on the balcony with an amazing view. I enjoyed every bite! A great thing about this hotel as well is that there is a SITA bus stop right outside so there was no hassle with transportation. I would definitely recommend this hotel!…
Pro's: A. Ocean view from balcony and if lucky/requested your room (2nd floor is best) B. House keeping, Raphael and young lady at reception are very friendly & helpful C. Breakfast is good D. Rooms are very clean E. Good for bus location Con's: A. Man at reception is rude and totally unfriendly B. When book a single room, your room is VERY small! C. Crap mattress, noisy on third floor D. The dining menu. Please be aware: The menu in English are higher prices than at the back the Italian version. For example: coupe ice cream €6 versus €4, glass of white house wine (which is nice) €6 versus €3. They don't even offer this in English version. When I caught them out on this they pretended they had no idea which you could see straightaway that was a lie. E. Location is not so good and lots of stairs in hotel, NO elevator!! F. On their website they advertise gym however when I asked about it, they had no idea! I would not recommend this hotel as I did not feel welcome and appreciated as a guest considering paying top dollar in peak season. Plenty of other and better options.…
A lovely hotel on the outskirts of town ! A lovely small beach below! Superb views from more than adequate rooms ! A lovely terrace bar where a truly superb choice of breakfast was served. Praiano is much quieter than elsewhere on the Amalfi coast & the only drawback of the hotel is more of Praiano itself ! You’ve got to be quite fit coz you will experience lots of stairs everywhere !
