I am writing and submitting this review two months after my wife and I had the pleasure of spending four sublime nights at this wonderful small hotel in Praiano. It has taken me this long because I felt it was necessary to take the time to compose the right words for my review, and to hopefully capture just how special this place is. Luigi the owner (who happened to be born here; in fact, in the very room where we stayed) is about as friendly, hands on, kind, thoughtful, considerate, and hospitable a host as I have encountered anywhere in any hotel, let alone any private home, in which I have stayed in my 60 years of existence. The spacious and supremely comfortable and attractive room was and remained immaculate throughout our stay. When we arrived we were sent to the top floor bar and restaurant with its spectacular terrace overlooking Praiano and the sea for a welcome drink served by Frederico, Luigi's son. Frederico was also our waiter for the three dinners we had in the hotel's excellent restaurant (only available for guests). He was funny and friendly, yet always attentive and professional. The food was outstanding. Breakfast each morning was on the terrace, and the service, this time by Luigi's daughter (and Frederico's twin sister) was warm, inviting and impeccable. The food, prepared by Luigi's wife (this is a true family operation and obviously a labor of love), was, in fact, too much to eat: omelettes, a variety of breads and cakes, fruit, yogurts, juice, and of course, custom made cappuccinos. It was the perfect starter to our full days of walking through and exploring the iconic, picturesque, cliff-hugging villages of the Amalfi Coast. As far as transportation goes, you either were given a ride by Luigi (he always was quick to offer one) into Praiano or took the bus that stopped just feet outside the front door on the main road running alongside the hotel. We cannot recommend enough this beautiful hotel and its family owners and operators. As a final example of the type of owner Luigi is, my wife and I had finished one of our days in Positano and were waiting to take the public bus back to the hotel, which was a bit of along wait. While we were waiting at the bus stop, who did we see to our surprise but Luigi driving up in his Audi SUV. He was coming to the bus stop to pick up a group of five women who were staying at the hotel. Although there actually was enough room on his SUV for my wife and I to sit in the back row, the women were very rude and did not let us on. Luigi looked at us sympathetically and drove off. However, he was so considerate that he actually came back for us, driving the 30 minutes back and forth between Positano and Praiano, saving us the time and expense of the public bus. I cannot remember ever having a hotel owner so kind and considerate as to do something similar as this for me. Luigi, his family, and his wonderful establishment are truly special. Do not hesitate to book this place as it will become one of your cherished memories of a visit to the romantic, one of a kind Amalfi Coast.

Stay here, love here, live here. This Hotel is like the sweetest frangipani flower:beautiful to look at, brightens up any room and delivers love to the heart. You are given a warm welcome by the owner and start your stay with a free welcome drink on the restaurant terrace. The balcony rooms overlooking the sea are food for the soul. If you want to park the car - they have an on site garage; if you want a bus to a local town - they give you free tickets; if you want to go to the local "beach" you can be driven by Luigi;if you want the most delicious basil omelette - they make it as standard;if you want fresh and very tasty Italian pasta - you guessed it, they serve it onsite during dinner in their restaurant. Love, love, love this hotel and the family that run it. Lots of love from Scotland

Luigi and family were wonderful! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the craftsmanship on this hotel is outstanding. It's been in the family for a long time, Luigi shared with us that he was actually born in the room we stayed in - so cool to hear the history. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Luigi's son Federico - he was so fun to hang out with while we enjoyed our welcome glass of Prosecco on the patio. It rained a few days while we were in Praiano - so we spent a little more time than expected in our room. Thankfully, we had a great patio and super comfortable room so that was totally fine by us. Breakfast was delicious, dinner was great as well. Easy walk to town where there are other restaurants and little shops. Luigi's daughter, Daniela, gave us a ride to Positano one day and provided us with bus tickets for the ride back - how convenient is that? Positano was about a 10 minute car ride down the road (a little longer back on the bus). There is also a great beach within walking distance of the hotel (go into town then down a bunch of stairs and there you are!). Unfortunately, due to weather the restaurant down there was closing up for the season, but still pretty and happy we went. Praiano is a pretty quiet town (especially during the end of the season), but that helped us relax and just enjoy the pretty views. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel - it's beautiful and very comfortable, the family is so sweet and you can enjoy other towns along the Amalfi Coast easily. If we are lucky enough to return to this part of Italy, we will definitely stay here again! Just stay here - you definitely won't regret it.

We had the best time on the Amalfi Coast & we can thank Luigi & his beautiful family for providing such an elegant place to soak in the Italian culture. The rooms all have a memorable view of the coast & are clean and comfortable. We choose to eat every night at their roof top restaurant because after a day of exploring the coast we looked forward to going “home” and talking to Luigi’s twins; Federico & Daniella who work in the restaurant. They are great kids!! The food is also fresh, hearty & plentiful; don’t skip out on breakfast, it is unbelievable!! If you need a place to stay which will make your trip the best it could be; choose Hotel Pellegrino...

We just spent 3 nights at this charming hillside hotel and loved it! At first we were a little surprised at the location, right at a bus stop on the cliff side Amalfi Coast Road. But as soon as you step inside and are welcomed by Luigi and his family you realize what a special place this is. It has been in his family since his father built it as their home In The 1960s and they treat guests as family. The breakfast served on the rooftop terrace is simply beautiful and delicious. The views from the guest rooms are breathtaking! They will drive you to the other towns or make reservations for you. They were all so gracious and helpful!
