We were so pleased that Alessandro was really responsive and understanding when we decided to cancel our reservation. We received a full refund of our deposit. We sincerely hope to rebook for next year and are sad not to make it.
We rented the whole property for a large family event. The home is very well laid out for multiple guests with private baths for most rooms. This home is a jewel for the area offering secure parking, small soccer area for kids and a pool. Plenty of outdoor seating for evening gatherings. So great to be so close to the amazing historic downtown of Pozzuoli with great restaurants and ferries to the islands, but in a tranquil beautiful home to retreat too after a long day of exploring! Host, Alessandra, is terrific and speaks very good english.
First of all , difficult to find her place , there is no sign for the property ( Flegrea house ) Finally found the gate and talk to Alessia she let us drive in and park next to the second house on the right , she introduced herself and start showing us the room and facilities, the swimming pool is far away from the property , very different from her website . After she hand the key , she told us there is juice , bread , coffee and tea in the kitchen, so you can enjoy your breakfast in your room and be independence, I was like what ? The booking said included breakfast ?? It was not what I expect . We got the apartment with the bed on the mezzanine floor with that round stairs, it was around 30 C during the day , the air conditioner is located in the middle level in the room , the cold air wasn't go up , it was hot , couldn't sleep the first night , we have to sleep downstairs of the apartment ,on the floor , the next 4 nights . Internet reception was so bad , have to reboot all the times , the last day was totally out , call Alessia , she said will send her guy to come and fix it , after a while , he came and explained there is a roadwork outside the main street , will not have internet until 8 pm , but he said Alessia can lend you her portable internet modem , and she will be back around 7 pm , as I am in business trip , need to be on internet, she never show up or call after . During the 5 nights , they never change any towels and bedding, no housekeeping at all. We even have to ask for toilet paper . Not recommend and never will go back !!…
We checked various reviews of Flegrea House prior to booking. Unfortunately I think there must have been a recent change of management. It's extremely difficult to find as there is very limited signage to indicate it's location and what there is, is in Italian. (Off the beaten track, up a windy road and it's necessary to drive by what looks like a tenement of very low income housing and various dodgy looking locals who stand in the road as you drive by) We checked in on a very hot day and the room must have been in the 40's - the air conditioner and fridge were both turned off. We stayed for 2 nights and on returning to our room we'd find that that the AC, that we'd set at a reasonable 25c had again been turned off and the room would be in the low 40's. Our room was inclusive of breakfast and the host gave us the option to prepare things ourself in the morning or appoint a time and she'd take care of things for us. To be honest, she made it very clear that her preferred option would be that we prepare things ourselves versus agreeing upon a specific time and we agreed. The next morning we gathered for breakfast to find a loaf of dry bread, some melted butter and a pot of coffee that required heating on the stove. I phoned her and ask that she provide a little more in the form of sustenance and she rustled up 6 slices of processed cheese and a few slices of cooked meat. This was completely inadequate and the lack of juice or fruit made breakfast a negative and frustrating experience. In summary, absolutely not recommended!…
