    Breathtaking Views and Phenomenal Staff
If you are looking for top notch service and an amazing view, search no further than Villa Magia. Before the pandemic, my family and I meticulously combed through the reviews at all of the top hotels in Positano. Villa Magia stood out as one of the few establishments that was reasonably priced, offered stunning views, and had exemplary service. We originally booked our vacation for June of 2020, however Covid changed our plans. The hotel graciously offered us a voucher that exceeded the time limits required by law, and in June of 2021 we took advantage of that voucher. When we arrived at the hotel, our expectations were not only met, but were far exceeded. The views were stunning. No pictures could do it justice. We had been travelling all day, so the staff kindly set up a late dinner for us, and it was beyond impressive. The room: We booked a two bedroom suite with a terrace. The view from that terrace was breathtaking. The main bedroom even came with a huge bath tub that easily fit two people. The location: The hotel is located above the main beach, hence the stunning views. To get to the main drag, one can descend around 150 stairs, or go up a few flights of stairs and get a taxi or bus. The bus stop is conveniently located to the property. The staff: The best part of the hotel was the staff. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond to provide us with exquisite service. One example, out of many, is the following: When we originally booked this trip in 2020 my father was not coming due to a conflict, however, after the trip was rescheduled, he was able to make it. The problem, unfortunately, was that he could not handle all the stairs in Positano due to his age, an out of season heat wave, and the fact that the cliffs of Santorini had taken a significant toll on his feet and stamina the week before. Unfortunately for us, there are a few flights of stairs involved every time one wants to leave, and in the case of our two bedroom suite, even when one wants to go to the pool or dinner. While this shouldn't be a problem for most people, his age, the weather, and his foot ailments prevented him from enjoying the property and the town. When the staff was made aware of the situation they immediately jumped into action and offered several options to help us out. They ended up changing our rooms to a location that was much better suited for a person who has difficulty walking, and entirely changed our experience in Positano. My family will be eternally grateful to the staff at Villa Magia for ensuring that we were able to enjoy ourselves as a family, and make great memories. Anyone who wants to come to Positano and stay somewhere with great views, great food, and even better people, should seriously consider Villa Magia. You will not regret it.

    Fabulous stay.
We had booked a late 2 week stay at Villa Magia, in the hope we could get away. Our return flights were cancelled before we left and had to extend our stay by an additional 4 days to fit in with the new return flight. This was not a problem for Villa Magia who advised that our room, The Queen Suite (room 8), would be ours for the duration of our stay. We were very lucky during our stay in that the weather was excellent and the hotel and Positano were virtually tourist free due to the Covid situation and the time of year. Unfortunately this did mean that some restaurants and public transport (ferries) were not open or running, but this enabled us to spend more time within the hotels grounds and to make use of our stunningly large terrace. We had breakfast either delivered to our room to eat on our terrace or on the pool terrace which had magnificent views over the sea. The reception staff were very helpful all the time and could not do enough for you - from making restaurant reservations (and in our case checking if restaurants were open) and providing day trip suggestions. When we hired a scooter for the day, they even took the keys for the rental company to collect later that day. You are given an iphone when checking in and this is used to contact reception when required via whatsapp. As we were staying so long we were lucky enough to dine at Luna for 4 evenings. The food was excellent and freshly cooked, with the chef accommodating any additional requests we had and even arranged for a whole fish for us to share one evening. We dined outside on the terrace three times and enjoyed the evening view of Positano and once indoors when the weather was inclement. We had an issue with the double sunbed that was on the terrace in that it was very uncomfortable as neither of us could sit straight on it - this was highlighted to a member of staff and replaced with 2 separate sunbeds straight away when we were having breakfast on the pool terrace - excellent service. Overall everything about our stay at Villa Magia was perfect and we would definitely stay here again should we be back in Positano as well as recommending this place to others to stay. It is not cheap but well worth the money to spend time in your own little secluded oasis in Positano.

Great Stay. Very Very nice rooms for the rates we ended up paying. Around 1200 Euro/night is standard now in this part of Italy in the summer. The pools are nice, the service staff/pool/butlers are awesome. The front desk staff is mediocre to be honest, very slow to respond, and not too helpful. Definitely a lot of room for improvement there.

The grounds and view are breathtaking here. The service we received from the staff here far exceeded our expectations and was by far the best we experienced across our two weeks in Italy. They went above and beyond and were so welcoming. We loved breakfast and lunch here, but are so disappointed we didn't have the time to experience dinner at Luna on the terrace. I could not get over the view from the pool or dinning terrace. We wished we had one more day here to just sit at the pool to enjoy the hotel. Even though it is a hike from the beach, the views are more than worth it. Highly, highly recommend!

Extraordinary property and staff in already extraordinary village. It’s hard to shine in positano given all the superlatives it deserves. Our family with 2 young children stayed this past week and felt pampered from start to finish. Upon arrival, guests are issued a personal cell phone with direct 24/7 access to a concierge that handles literally everything. Transfers, reservations, food, general questions…really anything. Requests are answered courteously within minutes. I have never seen anything approaching this level of service in all my travels. The staff are congenial, cheerful, and discrete. The property is perched on top of positano with fantastic views of the town and coasts. Luna, the on-site restaurant, was one of the best meals I’ve had on the entire trip and likely over the past year including a gastronomic tour of nyc recently. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

I don’t even know where to start. After months of planning, I started to believe my expectations couldn’t be met. The staff here surpassed my wildest dreams of a holiday in Positano. Amenities, service, food, drinks, Tiramisu!!! I’m ready to send for the family, so I don’t have to leave. THANK YOU Vila Magia for an experience I will never forget.

This is a difficult review to write. The hotel is beautiful, the suites are lovely, the view is amazing, and the staff is world class. But my wife and I were "blind sided" by how difficult it was to access the hotel. Too many stairs! [I know, I know. It is Positano, so expect lots of stairs.] However, there are only 2 ways to get to the hotel - from the lower road (10-minute walk to town) it is 190 stairs up to the hotel. From the upper road (a taxi or bus to town) it is 90 stairs down to the hotel. Imagine showing up at a hotel in NYC that is spectacular, has great views, and terrific service only to find out that it is a 13-story "walk up". Ouch. Our strategy was to walk down the 13 flights of stairs and then walk 10 minutes to town. To get back we took a 30-euro taxi from town to the upper road access and walked down the 8 flights of stairs to the hotel. It was workable, but really forced us to "strategize" our day. Strolling back and forth from hotel to town was not an option. The reviews that say it is a "short walk" to town are very, very misleading. If you are mobility challenged in any way, this is not the hotel for you. The stairs are rocky, hundreds of years old, with no handrails in many spots. Again, the hotel and staff were great. And, if you are a fitness junkie, the workout might suit you well. But other than that, just be prepared.

From the moment we arrived at this hotel we were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a breath taking view of Positano and the sea. It is in a truly stunning location. Everything had been thought of to make this room like a home from home. We had dinner at the hotel which was magical outside overlooking the coastline and the twinkling lights of Positano. Unfortunately we only stayed one night at this beautiful hotel so didn't get to use all the amazing facilities on offer but that gives us the perfect excuse for another visit!

I wish they had a 6/5 ranking on Trip Advisor because that's what I would give Villa Magia!!! This is truly a heavenly place to stay. From the minute you walk up to the villa with its jasmine trees making the air smell even more sweet you are blown away by the beauty of its views and terraces. Every detail has been thought out and we have rarely stayed in a place that has thought of everything that you might need! We stayed in the family villa and had the most delicious breakfasts on our private terrace, which was truly MAGICAL! The rooms were pristine with gorgeous decorations and amenities. Do yourself a favor and get a room with a sea view...you will be so happy every time you look out the window. Their restaurant Luna is incredible with gourmet and fresh dishes served on the stunning terrace. The location is stunning and quiet and a little set away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, with easy access to town right outside the doors. The staff are just beyond professional. Each and every staff member made us feel welcome and special. They go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible...and it was! STAY HERE and be so happy with your stay in Positano!
