Great location, 9 minute walk to the beach ( down heaps of stairs coming up is the worst but its a great work out, maybe not the best for people with mobility or health problems ) short walk to main road where there are heaps of restaurants. its about 15 mins to walk down to the centre where there a more boutiques and the main beach as well as the port where you can catch the ferry to other towns. The rooms have Amazing views, there is no AC, however you don't need it, as the rooms were very cool and at night it cools down. Breakfast was good. We walked up to the Sita bus (to go back to Sorrento) on our last day took us about 10 mins, we did leave at 6.30am to beat the heat and there was no one on the bus. It was cheaper than catching a taxi. The host Gippy was very friendly and helpful. He can organise a transfer for you to get to the b&b, we chose to catch the train from Naples to Sorrento and then a bus. Wasn't the best way to travel but it was an experience and much cheaper. If you get car sick, spend the extra money and go by pirate transfer, the Sita bus can be packed out at certain times, If you do decide to go by train, it is true what they say make sure you keep all your belongings close to you there are plenty of pickpockets and they work in groups. (the train is packed in like sardines) Positano is very expensive if you are going to buy souvenirs I would suggest buying them at Amalfi as they are much cheaper and the exact same thing, we learnt the hard way.

This is a lovely place to stay if you want to be close to the heart of Positano but not have the price tag of the luxury hotels. Quiet rooms, a good European breakfast (fresh fruit from the garden, croissants, ham and cheese, juice and coffee). The inn is down a few sets of steps (not steep, just quite a few) from the main road (the "grotto" is the landmark for this corner). About a 10-15 minute walk down the windy main road to the main beach and shops, but there is a bus stop right at the grotto corner which you could take, or walk down and bus up, as we did at least once. (You can walk easily if you're fairly mobile, it was just hot!). There are lots of good restaurants and shops, as well as a bakery and mini-mart not too far away. The smaller Fornillo beach is down a lot of steps (I think 300?) nearby. This was lovely, but not for those with mobility issues or bad knees =) The terrace with a view of the sea was wonderful. Gippy, the host, is extremely helpful and has excellent English skills, in case your Italian is rusty or non-existent. The rooms are not fancy, and I don't think most of them have AC, but it cools down at night and was very comfortable. I would happily stay here again! Thanks for a great stay!

A huge thank you to Gippy (owner and manager) for providing a truly relaxing and comfortable stay in a wonderful town. The views from the balcony are an excellent back drop to a delicious breakfast and easy going evenings in! The room was brilliant - clean, very comfortable, good looking. The location is great - a quick walk both to the beach and into town (or the start of some amazing trails up the mountains). The hospitality was superb - a true home-from-home with plenty of local tips/advice provided by our host. A huge recommend to anyone visiting Positano - you'll be hard pushed to find a more welcoming guest house.

The location is perfect, views are amazing and Gippy (the owner) is our new friend in Italy. Gippy, truly went overboard in helping make our stay wonderful. His advise was spot on and even better he will arrange your transportation, touring and reservations. Gippy's hospitality topped off and amazing location to relax, shop, tour or just hang out on the beach. We would recommend the Venus Inn and Positano to anyone.
