We have such good memories at our stay at Punta Regina- I couldn’t recommend it more!

The biggest highlight for us, is that the staff are amazing. From arrival, to breakfast service, they did everything to accommodate us and are an asset to the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful- the rooms, the views, and the terrace were exactly what we hoped for. It’s a short walk into the town centre and is an amazing place to watch the sun rise.

We will definitely be back in the future!

This was our 5th year in a row but a slightly different experience. It felt safe - masks worn by staff and guests in the communal spaces - except the rooftop pool and breakfast area, and hand sanitiser everywhere. The town was surreally quiet compared to usual!

Apart from the great rooms and amenities as always, what makes the stay are the staff. Always genuinely warm and helpful. We also got a room upgrade so a much larger living room space and a jacuzzi bath.

The highlight was a day spend out on Guinluigi’s new boat with just myself and my wife. Lots of swimming stops and beers and wines as we cruised up and down the coast. Highly recommend you do this if you get the chance. He can tailor it to your needs - lunch stops, evening cruises etc.

Already booked for next year.

Where to start! The hotel is a true gem located a few steps away from the square of beautiful Positano. We had the most amazing 3 night stay for our mini honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier with our choice! We were staying in Punta Caterina in the hotel's annex building but we were served breakfast and could use the pool at Punta Regina. The room was huge, airy, beautifully decorated in a contemporary Mediterranean style and had a big terrace with a spectacular view of Fornillo beach. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and all the stuff at the hotel were very friendly and polite. I would like to give special thanks to Francesca who is such a sweetheart and always with a smile on her face. She was very helpful, suggesting us the best places for drinks and dinner as well as helping us get around and giving us the best travel solutions. We will definitely come and visit again! Thank you for the giving us the best stay we could ever ask for!

This hotel is fantastic. I did a ton of research considering hotels down at the beach, closer to La Sireneuse and all around. Ultimately, this property is perfect (except for the wifi, which i'll come to in a second)

Location: Positano is pretty small so nothing is too far away and this is certainly an easy walk down to the center of town or the beach. It took us 10-15 minutes. There are stairs or you can just walk down the road. We are very fit and active but generally, while it is uphill/downhill, it is a super lovely walk and we really enjoyed doing it both during the day to go to the beach and also in the evening after dinner.

The staff: This is what made the property great. They were so helpful with everything. Whether it was something we needed like a bucket or ice, helping with a restaurant reservation or helping us navigate hikes, they were very helpful and friendly. They also remembered what restaurants and activities we did each day to recommend different ones the next day. It felt so personable.

Rooms: The room was lovely. We had a room with a private terrace and it was really nice. It looks like the pictures and the large terrace made the space feel like a little apartment. We enjoyed having drinks on the terrace in the evening.

The hotel: The breakfast was good and on the terrace each day which was a really nice way to start the day. While we didn't think we'd use the pool, we did twice in four days. It's just a nice little pool on the terrace and perfect to wade in and sip an aperol spritz in the early evening before dinner (it closes at 6).

Only complaint is the wifi - it's super slow and it does kick you off each time (you have to get to a splash page and enter a code). It didn't work well and I was mostly using my phone for internet. So this was really too bad but I liked the hotel so much that I'd still recommend it as THE place to stay in Positano.

We stayed at the Punta Regina for 3 nights as part of our tour of Southern Italy and wish we could have stayed longer! We had a deluxe special room which had a large terrace with sun loungers and a jacuzzi - it was a gorgeous place to relax and enjoy the view over the sea. The room was also very large with plenty of storage and a comfortable bed.
Breakfast was great - the best of our trip. Rather than a buffet, there was a menu to order from and they brought everything to the table. The pastry selection was particularly amazing and seemed to get larger every day! The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the town, the beach and several good restaurants, so an ideal location. The walk back is all uphill but it’s not too bad if you take the road rather than the steps!
The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and gave us some very good advice on walking the Sentiero degli Dei footpath from Praiano to Positano.
We’d absolutely love to stay here again.

We have been coming here every year (except last because of Covid) for a very long time. Every year I write virtually the same review. And now I’m going to do it again. The friendliest and most professional staff I know - not just in Positano but in the world and I have lived in planes and hotels for 40 years+. Beautiful rooms that when you open the doors onto the balcony and look across the boats below across the sea make you feel like you have stepped into a film - every time. Great terrace for super relaxed breakfast, snacks and aperitivi. Everything spotless (the cleaning and room servicing team are AMAZING). Their own boat to hire skippered by a local who knows every inch of the coast.
If you want beer, weird cocktails and the chance to shout loudly into your cellphone by the pool - don’t come. If want Italian style and class as it used to be you will not be disappointed.
Grazie
John and Kathy

Absolutely amazing. I have followed this hotel for a few years dreaming of that view and sitting on the terrace. I really believed that it would not look as great when we finally we able to travel and visit but it was better than the photos. It is beautiful. All the staff are friendly and helpful so polite. Francesca is beyond and communicated with us before helped with seamless transfers to and from Hotel even our changes in plans she is AMAZING. I had read so much about the stairs in Positano and how hard it is. No issues at this hotel the staff carried our bags from the car and the walk down to the main beach via the road is really only 20/25 mins and an easy walk no where near as bad as I imagined and it was hot when we were there. With all the cute shops in the way it’s hard to not get distracted and shop on the way. I also tried the stairs to the smaller very nice beach closer and it was about 15 min 10 of which were stairs. Could not recommend this hotel highly enough.

My family of 14 had five rooms booked at the beautiful Punta Regina. The rooms were all exquisite as was the hospitality received by our group aging from 9 months to 73. We were welcomed like family from the moment we walked in the door. Our rooms were made available ahead of check in time, allowing us to recover from our long journey and relax by the beautiful rooftop pool. My massive room had high ceilings, a gorgeous bathroom, and a beautiful large patio with a hot tub. The bed was luxurious, and the pillows were amazing. The air conditioning kept us cool and comfortable during the August heat. Our stay included the amazing breakfast each morning. There were eggs, bacon, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, pastries galore. PUNTA Regina is an amazing facility, but where it truly shines is with its personnel. Giuseppina went above and beyond to be helpful with making car/restaurant reservations and assisting in a medical emergency. I wanted to take her with me for the rest of my stay in Italy! Giuseppe was a ray of sunshine each day by the pool, delivering coffee and food, entertaining us all with stories and ensuring we all had whatever we needed. Although I do not know the rest of the staff’s names, they showed great hospitality with little acts of kindness (delivering a special tea set up for daughter, restaurant recommendations/reservations, helping us figure out the tv, etc). I would be remiss in not applauding the spectacular housekeeping staff who made our rooms spotless and inviting each day. PUNTA Regina receives five stars from this family.

We just loved our 6 night stay here. The front desk people, Francesca, Emmanuela, and Josephina were always amazingly friendly and helpful and always greeted us by name. We were treated like family. The breakfast staff were fabulous and also treated us like family. The breakfasts were excellent and outside tables had a lovely sea view.
Our King room was located a few doors up in the Annex, Punta Caterina. It was like staying in our own private Villa. The room was the larger of the 3 rooms in the Annex. The all new room was gorgeous with huge terrace with fabulous view.
FYI, there are a lot of stairs from street to your rooms in Annex, so if stairs are a problem then stay in the main hotel, Punta Regina.
The Hotel is conveniently located on the main street in Positano yet the rooms are very quiet. Pool area is on the smaller side but beautiful with good service and of course the View!
We must mention the private cruise available to book at the front desk. Captain JohnLuigi and his boat Allerria, was one of the high points of our stay. He will take you to amazing places!

Very happy we chose the Punta Regina to stay at during our visit to Positano! The location was ideal because you were close enough to great restaurants and to the beach, but far away enough so you didn’t hear the hustle and bustle of the town center. The staff is incredibly friendly, Francesca and Gianluigi helped make our stay so comfortable and easy. I highly recommend taking a boat trip with Gianluigi on Alleria, there’s nothing like dropping into the sea from a beautiful boat! The breakfast was great, the pool offered a nice respite after climbing the endless steps, and the turn down service was such a lovely touch. Plus, the rooms are actually quite big and are very comfortable. If you book a stay here you will not regret it. I can’t wait to come back!

Has anyone stayed since they reopened in 2021? Is there still a boat that offers the bookable tours?
Answer from Tom C

We did a similar trip, Rome to Naples on the frecciarossa(fast train) then got on the circumvesuviana to Pompeii. Left our luggage in a secure storage while we were exploring and then got a private driver to the hotel. The first train was great, the second was probably one of the worst experiences we have had. There was standing room only and very packed, and very hot. The driver to Punta Regina was booked by Francesca at the hotel, and they were very professional and friendly. The drive was amazing and definitely worth it - convenience and view! For reference it was €110. Frecciarossa from Rome to Naples was €22.5 each and the train to Pompeii cost €2.8 each.

Yes, you will be able to walk to the hotel. The hotel is way up on the hill--you can walk the windy streets or find the steps that wind their way up. An option is to have the hotel send down people (they are not associated with hotel) to bring your suitcases bags up to the hotel so that you can walk more easily (steps not great for rolling suitcases!), pay for that, have your suitcases meet you there. I have to say I was a bit nervous until we actually got the bags, some time after we were checked in. But all was well and very typically what folks do when they are checking in and out. It's not a quick walk, but a cool one and not a problem if you like to walk in general. I'm so jealous that you're going! I would go back in a minute!!

Hi There - the problem you MAY have is getting back up the hill. The hotel is amazing, but at 30 weeks pregnant you will probably find it tough going up the hill.
