My husband and I visited for 4 nights this May - and could not have been happier. Our room was lovely and clean, of course the view was spectacular! We ate dinner at the restaurant one evening, which was excellent. And the breakfast each morning was perfect. We loved the location; about half-way up the hill and on a main road (no dragging suitcases up and down stairs!). It was so convenient - a short and fun walk down to the main areas of town - and a very easy bus ride back up! The service was so friendly - everyone went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I highly recommend this gem!
We stayed here for a week at the beginning of April to celebrate 2 family birthdays. We had 1mromantice suite and 1 junior suite which were extremely expensive considering it was off-peak. First impressions were good, welcome drink on arrival and shown our suites. the junior suite wasn't really a suite in size but it did have a large terrace with small jacuzzi. The Romantic suite was a very spacious but had a tiny balcony. The restaurant hadn't opened for the season so can only comment on the breakfast which was so disappointing we stopped having it. Not only did you have to book a time the day before you also had to chose what you wanted to eat and drink - the only hotel i have ever stayed in that made you do this (we only ever saw a maximum of 3 other couples in the restaurant at the same time). You could have a small bowl of cereal, some sweet bread products better served as afternoon tea or fruit salad. the only hot options were boiled eggs, some over cooked bacon and scrambled egg with lettuce. Our booking confirmations set out what was included when booking a suite. which included a bottle wine. we were given 1 but when i asked for the other one I was told that between us we were only allowed 1 bottle as the junior suite was not a suite!!! the hotel management have stood by this ever since in spite of me pointing out the obvious. even if it they don't consider a junior suite a suite you would have thought they could stretch to a €10 bottle of Prosecco as a gesture of goodwill having spent c.€6500 on the 2 rooms but nothing was forthcoming and even when spending two birthdays there was no acknowledgement. other hotels we have stayed in for birthdays have always made an effort and a thoughtful gesture, even when staying only one night. there were problems with the electrics in my daughters suite for a day or 2 and they promised to get an electrician to look into it but when i asked what he'd done they said they didn't get one because my daughter hadn't told them again that it wasn't working. the faults rendered the best thing about her room (the jacuzzi) unusable but there was no apology of compensation of any sort. in summary it was very over-priced for what is was and we didn't feel we were valued customers. Positano is a beautiful place but i recommend staying elsewhere (Sorrento for example) and visiting for a day as that leaves enough time to see all it has to offer and in our experience you will be far better looked after.…
Stopped here for lunch after checking out of another hotel. My wife and I had a lovely afternoon. The waiters were really attentive, the food was amazing and we even shared a third main course. The wine was reasonably priced as was the food and equally delicious. Wish we hadn't waited until our last day to visit.
My husband and I just got back from this hotel and a few nights’ stay at Hotel Villa Gabrisa. We absolutely loved the whole experience. The staff is so friendly and the view from the hotel is unbeatable!! Can’t recommend it enough! I want to thank the hotel staff for being so kind to us and helping make The experience so amazing. We can’t wait to come back! Grazie!! Also- we loved Mimi! Such an adorable and friendly atmosphere.
This is where we stay on every trip to Positano, it’s a fabulous family run hotel and restaurant set over beautiful views. It’s like home from home for us we love it. This time it was for a special occasion so we stayed in the Honeymoon style suite which is a huge room with spectacular view. All their rooms have the view so take your pick.
Gorgeous views from bedroom window and dining room facing the sea. Set halfway up its away from the touristy crush and typically Italian with marble and glass setting. Fab cocktail bar with so many choices of gin. Staff are very helpful and we re having a private wine tasting experience in the bar. The restaurant has a superb menu beautiful pasta, fish etc we ve eaten here most days it’s hard to beat. Besides the inside dining there is outside sat by the view stunning.
My husband and I stayed here to kick off our 12 day trip in Italy and it was absolutely perfect. Our room was fabulous, updated and had the most amazing terrace with a view of the coast. Breakfats was fantistic - served in teh room (or downstairs overlooking the sea) whatever your preference is. Local family run hotel, made you feel right at home and you actually got to know the staff during the stay. The restaurant and bar downstairs were amazing, had dinner here one night, and got drinks at the bar before heading out daily. Worth every penny :)
My daughter and I stayed at Villa Gabrisa for 3 days/2 nights before traveling to Ravello for a friend’s wedding. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out our experience there was top-notch. Claudia at the reception desk answered all our questions with a smile. We had a great meal overlooking Positano at the restaurant, and each morning had a nice breakfast outdoors at the same venue. Though it is not buffet due to COVID, ordering the night before was no problem. If you wanted to change the order the wait staff was more than happy to do so when they reviewed your order before serving you. Our room was fantastic. Room 301, with a nice balcony. 2 chairs and a table outside. We spent many hours people watching and looking over Positano. The room itself was large. A/c was great, plenty of towels and toiletries. Very quiet, even though it was on a main road. Not one bad thing to say about it. Hotel was in a good location- plenty of restaurants within walking distance. My daughter fell in love with the hotel cat! All in all a wonderful start to our Italy vacation.…
We stayed for one night. Our room was beautiful. The balcony with the jacuzzi was worth the extra cost. The hotel was kind to arrange us a driver and send us off with delicious croissants. The only thing we would change is the ability to make our Jacuzzi hotter as it was luck warm. The location of the hotel is a little further from the center of town. We would love to try their restaurant next time we are in town.
Absolutely amazing hotel. From the service, to the cleanliness, the formative front of house staff to the attentive waiters at breakfast and dinner. Everything about this hotel is superb. I love it so much. The room was fanastic and super cute. The location is great and has the best views of Positano. The owners are very friendly and we enjoyed our conversations with them. They helped book a PCR test which we needed in order to get back to our home country. Everyone was super helpful and kind. I could go on and even writing this review brings a smile to my face reminiscing about the good times in positano. Highly recommend this hotel and I would love to go back! I have seperately written a review for the restaurant which we ate at for dinner on a few occassions (the homemade breadsticks and sourdough loaf made us want to go back every night for more!)…
