The Hotel Miramare (rated four stars) is located in one of the world's most beautiful bays, which offers a combination of undisturbed relax and incomparable scenery. The historic centre of Positano and the main beach are just a short walk away. Hotel Miramare is well known for its excellent staff and for its panoramic breakfast room overlooking the bay. The spacious and comfortable drawing rooms and bar assure an enchanting and enjoyable stay.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Positano is such a beautiful place that makes extra difficult to choose the right hotel, as you really don't want to spoil the experience. Miramare is not only a safe option, but also an absolute haven.
The gorgeous rooms, the large balconies and the views make you not want to go anywhere to be honest. But if you decide to leave, the location is ideal, central to Positano town and the beach, no more than 5 mins walk through the famous stairs. Lots of amazing restaurants nearby too. Parking is limited but that's true for the entire area.
I'd say it's similar to San Pietro in style but it's a smaller property, more intimate, with the outside space available in the balconies rather than a terrace. Prices reflect that too.
I've stayed in Miramare twice, and in both occasions nothing was ever too much for the excellent management and staff. If you want to experience the most of Positano's beauty and the famous elegance of the Amalfi Coast, don't think twice to chose this place.

Hotel Albergo Miramare was the best hotel experience we've ever had. The staff was extremely patient and helpful, and the views were absolutely unreal. The room was very clean and the accommodations were excellent. But what really sets the Miramare apart is the restaurant. We went for breakfast every morning, and afternoon drinks every day. The view, the staff, the food, and the ambiance were EXCEPTIONAL! I can't recommend this place enough. We were totally astonished that there weren't more people taking advantage of the afternoon drinks at great prices, with great apertivo, and a great view. If we ever make it back to Positano we will 100% be back at Miramare.

A gem ! Third (3nd) time a charm ! Why wife and I stayed here in September of 2022 after having to cancel our hotel reservations in both September of 2020 & 2021. It was everything we could of asked for ! It was quaint, classy, intimate with incredible views. The staff, both Carmela and Danielle were fantastic, after dealing with them for over two (2) years it was like were were long lost friends. They made dinner suggestions and reservations for us as well as coordinated trips down the Amalfi Coast and out to Capri. The hotel is located near the upper road in Positano and walking is required but if you are in good health no big deal. We loved the location. It is a small and classy boutique hotel. Carmela and Danielle speak excellent english, Danielle with a English accent ! We stayed in a Deluxe Room and the views from bedroom and bathroom were mind blowing. This hotel was by far the highlight of any of our accommodations during our five (5) week trip through the Balkans.

This was my first time staying in Positano. I had visited before but usually stay in Sorrento. As other reviews have noted, this hotel has a fair amount of steps to get to the entrance. It's not along a driving road, so it might be a tough stay if you're not in fairly okay shape.
To give you an idea of where the hotel is located (because I struggled a bit with picturing it), think of the classic Positano picture that shows the buildings on a climbing hill. Albergo Miramare is one of those buildings, so your view from the room is the other part of Positano and you look out into the ocean and towards where hotels like Le Sirenuse is. If you're looking for a room with the "typical" Positano view, you need to be on that side.
Miramare's view is very nice and the room we stayed in had a lovely balcony. Everything felt very nice and well taken care of. Everybody we interacted with was nice. Breakfast was great! We really enjoyed the beautiful setting and the wide variety of food available. It's mostly cold items like a tort (which was delicious), fruit, pastries with a small selection of hot items.
For me, my hesitation in coming back would be that I don't feel like it was worth the $800 a night. We travelled in a group of 3 and it felt a bit exorbitant, considering one of the beds was a sofa bed, and not a very big one. I am petite, and I think an average size person wouldn't fit. While everything was pleasant, the experience didn't balance out with what you expect from an $800/night room or hotel. Keep in mind, this wasn't the mid of high season, but mid-May. I also think that our room was above(?) the kitchen or something because in the bathroom you can VERY clearly hear people walking about and talking. They sound like they are right there! It was very disconcerting the first time I was in the bathroom and realized it! Haha. I would suggest asking for a room on the top floor if possible.
Do note that by staying at Miramare, you have access to the pool at Palazzo Murat. It's not too close, but at least you'll have access to a pool.

Absolutely stunning and beyond our wildest imagination. The hotel has a spectacular view and our room and balcony were absolutely the best. The hotel staff was attentive to all our needs...room service, restaurant, everything. We had some special needs and they were very accommodating and supportive.
Don't be threatened by some of the reviews for the steps. Yes, it is 150 steps down from the street, 400+ from the pier. We arrived on the street and the hotel had a porter to help with the luggage. Right at the top of the stairs for the hotel, there are two hotels. Both are very good. The Cafe Positano has "the view"! The Da Vincenzo Positano is simply outstanding food. We'd walk down the street to the little convenience shop to buy daily wine for our evenings watching the boats in the harbor and the activity on the beach.
The downtown area is a nice easy walk down the road to the shops and all kinds of restaurants and gelato and bakeries. Yum yum!
The road traffic is one direction into town and then a different road (higher up) leading out of town. We didn't use any taxi's we walked everywhere and enjoyed the views.
Get the rooms with the balconies if you can book them. Worth it!

Stayed here for our honeymoon, and let me say from the time that we arrived until our last day, we had the most pleasant experience. The luggage porter, RENATO, will save your life taking your luggage down those Positano steps. Literally, he is a superhero and so kind and happy all the time! We were welcomed by the front desk and anything we needed they provided. The breakfast was phenomenal and so cute. The view from our balcony and at the breakfast was beautiful. You are steps away from the beach which is amazing and the dock is right there. All in all, an amazing Positano experience. This is a great hotel and has so many perks ie the luggage porter, the staff, the breakfast, the views, the location being so close to spiaggia grande and the dock. 10/10

I really enjoyed this hotel. The hotel itself is very nice. The rooms are comfortable and the view is not to be believed. Beautiful ocean, beach, and town views. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet is pretty good with lots of options served in a beaituful room with a living flowery vine growing on the ceiling with again, awesome views. The location is great. A decent walk down the stairs right in front of the hotel down to the main part of the town and the beach and ferry dock. You can also walk down the main road just up from the hotel for a less strenuous, more gradual descent and climb back up. There are 208 steps down to the town. Trust me, most hotels in the town are much further away from everything and involved more climbing. But, no matter where you go you will be climbing stairs all the time. The shower in my room very small but other than that I have no real complaints. The hotel is also close to a lot of great restaurants including Cafe Positano just up the stairs from the hotel. I loved this hotel and have recommended it to several friends already. Great option in Positano!

The hotel was absolutely perfect for what we expected in Positano. The views from the room were incredible…. We had a large balcony to enjoy drinks and breakfast. The staff greatly helped with coordinating private cars from/to Naples. Porters carried our bags, escorted us down the stairs to the hotel, called to reserve chairs at the sister hotel pool(great spot to spend an afternoon), and called to reserve dinner reservations for each night. I can not say enough about this place. You must plan for steps in general for Positano… this place is located about 110 steps down from the Main Street and 210 steps up from the beach boardwalk/restaurants. Take walking shoes and enjoy the experience

What can I say?! We stayed here two nights during our weeklong trip to Italy in April. The hotel is a boutique hotel with impeccable service. Every person we encountered was friendly, pleasant, engaging, and helpful. Our room was right off the lobby. We stayed in the Junior Suite Sea View. OMG! The views were spectacular and only matched by the staff's impeccable service. Our first night there, it was a beautiful full moon. We dined at La Scalinatella under the full moonlight, which was superb! The view from the restaurant looking out at the Tyrrhenian Sea was breathtaking. We chose a seven-course meal that was sublime. On day two, the staff provided excellent restaurant recommendations. We dined at Next2, and it was amazing.
The location of the hotel was perfect. There were several stairs to climb, but we just took our time. I also recommend a small suitcase and a duffle. They have a porter who will carry your luggage down and up, but the stairs are unforgiving, with extremely heavy luggage.
When Mike and I return, we will definitely stay at the Alberto Hotel Miramare!! Thank you for the incredible hospitality!!
