#31 of 38 hotels in Positano
Travelers' Choice
Hotel in Positano in the Heaven of Amalfi’s Coast To climb heavenwards it is also possible to use the steps: those of the mythical ”Scalinatella” which, from Punta Reginella lead to the high part of Positano. Two flights and here you are in a wonderful paradise called Hotel Casa Albertina. On entering through the grandiose entrance door, go onto one of the many terraces and enjoy the breathtaking view: below you will see the famous “Spiaggia delle Sirene”, and in front, the suggestive ridge of Praiano, while higher still, climbs the “Sentiero degli Dei” where the local christians took refuge during the cruel Saracen invasions. As always, the delightful Cinque family, the owners, will be at hand to ensure your total comfort during this stay in this wonderful hotel set in the mountains perched over the sea. lf you really want to “take in the history” why not ask for the room which at one time, when it was still a typical house of Positano before being transformed into a hotel.

Stayed 5 nights on the top floor (4th). The hotel is in a great location near Caffe Positano, Da Vincenzo, and just a 10-15 min walk to the town with all restaurants and shops. Staff was accommodating. Room was small but very charming. Small balcony with an unbelievable view. Breakfast included in the morning. Food was just OK, but coffee was good and the outdoor terrace for breakfast is very charming.

We had a lovely big room with veranda. The air con worked brilliantly and we needed it! The shower was a bit poor with the fixture coming away from the wall. There are 75 steps to get to the hotel but the staff are very helpful with the luggage. Amazing views over Positano and lovely varied breakfast.

Marco is great and friendly. The room is good (44) and the bed is comfortable. We could bring our cat which was great, and Marco upgraded our room. Free breakfast was really big. Make sure you coordinate parking on the way in. It’s 30€/day and they will pick your car up for you when you coordinate with Marco. It has a stupid good view from the balcony—well worth the price. It is kind of mid way up the hill which is perfect for beach and the view. The towels (I’m big on towel comfort) are not awesome, but they are HUGE — kind of an odd square mixed with a dish towel feel.

I have stayed at Casa Albertina many times. I have seen several critical reviews and I couldn't disagree more. The Cinque family are fantastic hosts, the rooms are very clean, the views are fantastic and the location is close to everything. The stairs are a challenge if you are not fit. The breakfast is comparable to most you find in Italy, but the setting on the terrace is amazing. It is NOT an American style hotel, but one of immense Italian charm.
