Le Sirenuse is a charming family owned hotel located in the heart of Positano. Opened in 1951 by the Sersale family who converted their summer house into a hotel with 12 rooms. The hotel has grown since then with the acquisitions of two neighboring houses to 59 rooms and suites. Le Sirenuse today is still run and managed by the Sersale family who ensure the same atmosphere of warmth and intimacy remain, while breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the village of Positano make this an unforgettable place to spend a holiday.

We came to Le Sirenuse after we had made a dinner reservation for our honeymoon to sit on the balcony. I have to say we were both disappointed in a lot of ways. First, we were sat inside the middle of the dining room because they said they had no more spaces for 2 on the balcony (which was bizarre because we saw a few open tables). Then when the food arrived, most of the food was seafood and I had specifically requested that I do not eat seafood. And lastly, a lot of the of the food was cold. We were both really disappointed given it was a special occasion dinner and also a very EXPENSIVE dinner. Not sure I would come back for dinner. Maybe just drinks.

This is one of the best hotels and one of the most memorable trips we have ever had . (We are frequent travellers worldwide ) . On arrival we were warmly greeted by a manager and asked if we would like a complimentary upgrade which was a wonderful opulent treat . The standard of the room was out of this world , the attention to detail , beautiful bathroom complete with exceptional toiletries and stunning view from the balcony made this an absolute dream . We dined in the restaurant one evening , the best views in Positano topped off with sumptuous well thought out menu , excellent drinks selection and faultless service! Yes it’s expensive, but on every count this establishment and staff deliver on every level !

My wife and I read so much about this place on blogs, we had to try it for ourselves when we stayed in Positano. Despite what some have called rude staff, when we consider most visitors just want to take photos or “be seen”; we can see why they must be firm with their policies. It can get very crowded with many people who just want to photo. But, if you take the time (and expense) to actually have dinner there; you will find it a true experience. The same goes for drinks at the Champaign Bar. We had drinks & dinner one night and it was a bit overwhelming. We decided to visit again a few days later for lunch and found it perfect as it was not hectic and much more relaxing overall. When we go back, we will surely have lunch there again. Its also much easier to snap a photo by the pool at lunch time as well if you pay the price to stay at this hotel.
