My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week, it was our first time visiting Sardinia. Location - the hotel is located near Cala di volpe, the views from the hotel are amazing. It is approximately a 15 min drive into Porto cervo which costs around 40 euros each way, so 80 euro minimum in total per trip. We were told it's better to hire a car but we tend to like a couple of drinks with an evening meal so wasn't really an option for us. Rooms- the room was clean but quite outdated, very small shower area, beds not very comfortable and only one very thin pillow. Our "balcony" was straight out onto the pool area so didn't feel private and needed to keep curtains on all the time so people by the pool couldn't see us. The shower was very small and narrow. Staff - I feel this was one of the biggest downfalls, while some of the staff were nice we found a lot of them to be quite unhelpful. I also feel it's under staffed so sometimes very difficult to get a drink in the hotel bar. Check in was made unnecessarily complicated. Special mention to Luca who worked in the hotel bar as he was amazing, always so nice and very helpful. Food- breakfast was ok, fairly simple but pleasant. Often very busy and there weren't enough staff to manage coffee orders etc. The food in the hotel bar was very over priced but it was fairly nice. But again service was very hit and miss. There were also some ridiculous rules such as we couldn't have a bottle of wine during the day because the kitchen was locked. But after 4pm it was ok. We also couldn't have ice cream after 3pm because it was locked. Pool area - the pool area is lovely, very well kept and gorgeous views. However, the sun loungers aren't very comfortable. But we found it very peaceful and relaxing here. We never had an issue getting sun beds. Beach - the hotel has a beach service shuttle which was included in our stay. This has to be pre booked the day before. The beach itself is very nice. However same uncomfortable sun loungers. There's also not much choice for food/drink. 4/5 very very overpriced restaurants to chose from. Decor - the decor in the main bit of the hotel is lovely and has a relaxing vibe to it. The restaurant area is nice with lovely views out to the sea. However one thing I'd say is there are dirty plastic curtains hung up (some which are falling off) which can sometimes block the view and ruin the affect. The hotel has potential to be really really lovely but I feel some areas for improvements, mainly the rooms, staff and the sun beds!

terrible service the people from the front desk are extremely unpolite and unsolicite. we were in 3 people , 1 of them had trouble with her credit card so we asked to pay on the next day and they locked us out of our room with all our belonging in it. worst interior design i have ever seen, very old and depressing. uncomfortable beds and shower. lots of bugs. people from the front desk made us wait 1:30 hour on the check in after a 9hour flight... it was very inconvenient. Very disorganized. . very american and comercial food. not 24 hr service at all. the closest beach that the hotel recomended was far, dirty and full of people. staff would never help us call a taxi. in general i think you can find way better places in Sardigna for the same prime. but porto cervo is a nice place.

Our first time in Sardinia and what a superb place to stay. The hotel is great, views amazing, food was superb, and the staff so helpful. We leave at lunchtime after a 3 night stay, a perfect getaway. Big thanks to Manager Mauro, Alberto & Iliena & team in the restaurant, Luca and his colleague on the bar, helpful lifeguard poolside and the wider hotel team. All so friendly and professional. Did not hire a car for such a short stay which was fine. A few restaurants nearby but did not need to use as hotel dining so good. Fantastico! Ash & Marion

Good time , good service, good food, good room, good view, good beaches and it made us feel good. Very helpful counter staff , restaurant staff and room staff. They are not afraid to advise because they are quite rightly confident in what they do and say. There are many “Characters “ amongst the staff which gives interest and amusement to those who seek enjoyment and pleasure in life’s many facets.

Amazing location set in a lush hillside setting, surrounded by greenery, beautifully tended gardens, you’re not allowed to sunbathe or sit on the grass !! absolutely stunning views of Porto Cuervo and Cala de volpe, solid authentic building, spotless, beautiful food, spectacular restaurant with breathtaking views, fine cuisine, very quiet, everywhere was peaceful, not for children, although there were some there. Comfortable rooms. There was minimal staff dressed in tuxedos, everybody was very helpful but only when asked. The reception staff weren’t very engaging although Lydia was very helpful and lovely. Most of the time you could hear a pin drop. The pool was perfect but the shade came over about 4pm. I do think the lifeguard needs to up his game with the insect net in the pool. That was the only thing I’d change. Oh and the pianist, however lovely it is to hear the piano played, it was every night and for hours ...... not our thing every night, maybe a bit of soul would have given some atmosphere. It just needed a bit more thought to the atmosphere and staff interaction. Otherwise a beautiful holiday.

Visited July 2019. Could not fault this excellent hotel. Had booked superior garden room on half board basis but on arrival we found we had been upgraded to superior sea view room overlooking pool. Had anticipated eating out on a couple of evenings but food & service in restaurant was exceptional so did not bother. Breakfast buffet was equally as good. We did hire car as hotel is situated 0.6km from main road & very few cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Made use of beach shuttle to nearby Lischia Ruja beach which was beautiful but facilities there are limited and only beach bar was quite expensive, with cheapest item on menu 20 euros for very simple salad. Thereafter explored this beautiful island on our own. Highly recommended.

Booking a 4+ means Service everywhere any time- within our stay this was definitely not fulfilled- Arrival reception not really friendly- you have to wait until internal conversations have been finished- Breakfast, the view is great but scramble eggs.... you have to pay- if you want to order coffee after 2 minutes when the buffet is closed - you will get a No!! no intention to serve the guest Room was big air condition noisy ! Door to the balcony broken not able to close it-afterwards not able to open it Towels for the beach not available!!’ Check-out nobody was asking us if we enjoyed our stay- First and last time there- way to expensive and for sure not 4+

Chose the hotel for 2 nights of my stay in Sardinia based on location and previous reviews. The location is excellent for exploring the beaches of the Costa Smeralda but be advised that a car is essential as the hotel is at the top of a hill and quite a distance from anything else. First impressions were great, the hotel is presented very well with nice decor and landscaping. Free car parking also. The hotel interior is lovely with pale colours and marble and stone making it very airy and clean feeling. Check in at reception was ok. Noticed immediately that you could hear a pin drop. No lobby music. No bar staff chatter. No guests at the pool. Was shown to the room up two flights of stairs so no elevators. Let’s just say the rooms don’t live up to the expectations based on the exterior. Just adequate. No tea/coffee making facilities. No iron/ironing board. Slippers provided strangely enough but no bath robes? However they are clean and have lovely balconies overlooking Cala di Volpe. Strict rules about bringing food and drink into your room and hanging towels and swim wear over your balcony....which is fine as long as there is somewhere to dry them ? No laying on the grass too. The pool area is lovely with amazing views....however the water almost gave me a heart attack it was so cold, almost as cold as the atmosphere and the whole area was in shade by 3pm so no warming up either. On the first night decided to eat in the hotel restaurant for convenience. Booked a table ahead for 8pm. Arrived dressed smart casual in polo shirt shoes and chino style tailored shorts only to be told by the waiter dressed in a white tux that it was house policy to wear long trousers. There were 4 other diners eating. Ridiculous! Made my feelings clear to the receptionist but not taken on board. Moving on to “breakfast” again waiters in white tux take coffee orders. Usual set up of pastries and eggs and yoghurt. But this pastry table was different from others as it doubled up as a wasps nest!!!! There were literally dozens buzzing around over the food. The muffins and donuts were so stale they crumbled into dust. Bacon was a tepid sloppy congealed mess. Very disappointing considering all the faffing! Again no atmosphere no guests and silence. Would not return or recommend. Hotel Petra Bianca you are not Sandy Lane! Stop imposting and just be the good 4* hotel that you could be!
