Thank you.....A fabulous experience and unforgettable The rooms were beautiful, clean and large with a balcony. Naturally there was an lift and everything was perfect. That evening, we enjoyed cocktails downstairs where we met some very interesting people and naturally wonderful nibbles followed - Thank you Igor for looking after us on a such quiet night end of October 2019. Buffet Breakfast was amazing - the best we have had in Italy. Thank you for a fabulous day, wish we had stayed another night. So glad we did not stay in the hotel in Paestum which had tiny rooms and no lift. I will return definitely.
We spent only one night in the Hotel Cerere during our week-long tour of southern Italy. Our room was great - comfortable bed, clean bathroom, refrigerator with mini-bar, sizeable wardrobe, large balcony - and the outside swimming pool looked inviting although we didn't try it. There is a large restaurant but it was virtually empty for both dinner and the following day's breakfast as our visit was out-of-season. However, it was hot and sunny even in late October! Our dinner was tasty and Salvatore, the young sommelier, recommended an excellent, inexpensive wine to us. We also met the young but very able chef - avanti SSC Napoli! All of the staff (and we do mean all) were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. Thank you for all your help, Federica! The only disappointment was that the Trip Advisor website indicates that the hotel is only 1 km from the ancient Greek temples at Paestum - they are actually three times as far, as we discovered when we walked from them to the hotel on our first afternoon with our luggage! This was not the hotel's fault. When we made a return visit to the temples on the morning of the following day we were able to use the hotel's free bicycles - a pleasant 15 minute ride along quiet roads. A taxi would have cost €12 each way. We wished we could have stayed for much longer!…
We recently went to the area of Campania Italy. We had been to italy 3 times before but this was probably the best. Our stay at hotel Cerere was way above what we expected . from the hotel to the staff and the food, it was top notch. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. I would highly recommend this choice from transat holidays. And a big call out to Igor and Frederica and the manager Luigi for being a big part of our great time .kudos. We booked a familyroom at this 4 Star hotel at Hotels.com. Turns out the family room is NOT at the hotel main building. Its 100 m away and there is another hotel in between. The room was warn out and NOT more than 2 star standard. No cleaning even though its alledgelly 4 star. When we booked the room there were only pictures of the rooms at the main building NOT the family rooms. There are now pictures of the room when you go into reservation of the room. By the way, they have photoshopped the pictures of the area with the family rooms. So they give you the illusion that you book a 4 star room and service, but in fact you get low standard and no service. Be aware of all the thing NOT included that you normally would get at a 4 star hotel. Here you get nothing. Dont go there.
My sister and I stayed at Hotel Cerere on 2nd June 2019 for 6 days. Throughout our stay, and unbeknown to us when booking this holiday, four weddings were hosted at the hotel. The impact was that we could not use the pool from lunchtime onwards because the hotel hosted the first part of the weddings, mainly around the pool. The hotel advised us initially that the reason for closure of the pool was because it needed to be cleaned, however, the pool was cleaned first thing in the morning, before breakfast and the real reason for closing the pool off to it's customers was to host the weddings. The next issue was the food which was dreadful. Hot food was nearly always served cold, with a poor choice of dishes. My sister's prawns were not cleaned of their waste, which meant that when she cut into them the waste from the prawn spilt out onto the plate. The waiting staff took this away and replaced it with an inedible omelette. The weddings continued in to the early morning, keeping us awake. If we had known that four weddings were going to be hosted at the hotel, over a six day period, we would have chosen a different hotel. There were no announcements that the weddings would be taking place, there were no warnings that the wedding parties would take over the hotel and there was no apology or notice of some of the wedding parties going on until the early hours of the morning. No hotel should ever take bookings from customers, knowing that they are hosting four weddings, unless potential customers are made aware of this, in advance of booking. All of this said the one positive to come out of the trip was the lovely waiting and bar staff.…
